do you have to set up coordinates in Realworks before bringing the point clouds to Navisworks and or Revit?

What if the control points haven’t been shot prior to the scan...can the scan(s) be realigned to targets inside of field link at a later time? I usually get the scanning done before surveyors with total stations can set up control for a 3D scanning project. Before the X7, I used ReCap Pro to import all the .fls files and imagery from the TX5 folder and do all my registration with ReCap. Note, I do not have TBC. The issue with ReCap was/is you needed three matching targets (spheres or flags) in each scan in order to refine the scan to surveyed coordinates. Do you have any tips or suggestions or know the process on how I should set up my jobs in field link so that I can quickly re-orient the scans inside of field link, using coordinates the surveyors give me, then export either as gridded .e57 or .rcp so that inside of ReCap I can still view all the 3D images for each scan station? Also, I would want the control points to be at different ends of the building or area being scanned. This gives a tighter rotational alignment, but it means that one scan station won’t be able to see both targets at the same time, making “resectioning in using 2 points” not work for my case.
