80mph on a 4T 125 is pretty fast, my friends CBR125 barely goes 75. I have 2T RS125 with gearing for track so i hit the rev limiter at 100mph, with normal gearing it just barely gets to 110, and for me it is the absolute minimum for comfortable riding (I can actually cruise at highway speeds without the engine feeling like it's gonna blow at any moment). The only time I touched a 4T 125 was when I was getting my license and I instantly said nuh uh. I just couldn't ya know. Now I got my A2 license so I can get something bigger but nothing feels like a big enough upgrade, 10MPH higher top speed, 2-3 second better 0-60, but with shitty brakes and mushy suspension, I might just stick with my little RS for a little bit longer. All the bikes that look like a good upgrade are 2x my budget.

That's happened to me but I was not as lucky as you. I crashed in the lane divider and broke my back, 4 ribs, my right arm and 3 of the fingers on that arm, shattered my ankles and femur on the right leg.

ive been debating on getting a 125 as my first bike. but as im going for my A2 license i feel like it would just be a waste of my time to do it. i dont know the licensing laws too much in the UK but in ireland we can directly go from no license to an A2 or even A license if old enough. i just dont think a 125 has enough power for what id be using it for compared to something like the Z400 or cb500F or other middleweight competitors.
I’d say get a 125 to start with because you learn the basics and can make mistakes without unaliving yourself. Also it’s really fun embarrassing bigger bikes on a lil 125 round the twisties.
