In this video, we cover in detail the differences between foamy urine and normal urine, highlighting the potential health concerns that foamy urine may indicate. Foamy urine can result from dehydration or rapid urination but may also be a symptom of more serious conditions such as proteinuria, which is associated with kidney damage, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Normal urine is typically pale yellow, clear, and foam-free, reflecting good hydration and healthy kidney function. We emphasize the importance of monitoring urine appearance and seeking medical advice if foamy urine persists, as early detection and intervention can significantly impact overall health and well-being.

    One plus albumin and rbc and pus cells present in my urine ,everything else is normal ,what is my health condition?

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The presence of albumin, RBCs, and pus cells in your urine could suggest things like a urinary tract infection (UTI), kidney inflammation, or other kidney issues. It's best to consult with your healthcare provider to get a clear diagnosis and the right treatment. They'll be able to run more tests and give you a better understanding of what's going on. Hope that helps!

    Kidneys do not produce red blood cells. They filter out old and dead RBCs and excrete erythropoietin. Erythropoietin stimulates bone marrow to produce red blood cells.

      Thanks for your input and for helping clarify this! Everything you mentioned is correct. In the full video, I explain at the 3:52 mark that erythropoietin stimulates the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. I should have worded it differently in the summary. 🤦‍♂️

    Does creatine destroy them

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great question! Creatinine doesn't destroy anything in the body. It's a waste product from muscle metabolism that the kidneys usually filter out. High levels of creatinine in the blood usually mean the kidneys aren't working properly. This can cause harmful substances to build up in the body, but creatinine itself isn't causing any damage.

    Is it possible to not have creatinine in our blood?

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's not possible to have no creatinine in the blood because it's a natural waste product from muscle activity. Having zero creatinine could indicate severe muscle loss or other health issues, which is very rare. If you're concerned about your creatinine levels, it's best to consult a healthcare professional.

      @@ZahraAhmadi-bp4nm Great question! "Renal" and "kidney" essentially refer to the same thing. "Renal" is the medical term used to describe anything related to the kidneys. So, while "kidney" is the common term, "renal" is often used in medical contexts. They both refer to the same vital organs responsible for filtering waste from your blood. I hope this helps! 😊

      Yes, there are certain supplements and foods that can help support kidney health and potentially improve your GFR. Foods rich in antioxidants, like berries, can help reduce inflammation. Leafy greens and other vegetables high in fiber are also beneficial. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish like salmon, can support overall kidney function. Additionally, supplements such as vitamin D and omega-3 fish oil may be beneficial. However, consult a healthcare professional before making any major diet changes or starting new supplements to ensure they're suitable for you.

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In response to your previous comment, improvement in GFR levels can be a positive sign indicating better kidney function, but it doesn't necessarily mean that kidney disease has been reversed completely. It may suggest that the progression of kidney disease has been slowed or halted, and the kidneys are functioning better than before. However, kidney disease is typically considered chronic and may still require ongoing management to maintain kidney health. It's essential to continue working closely with healthcare providers to monitor kidney function and follow their recommendations for treatment and lifestyle changes.

    I got diagnosed with CKD 2 at 23 years old after one blood test. Is this normal? My eGFR came back as 76 and my doctor seemed a little bit panicked and just told me I have CKD 2. I'm being referred for an ultrasound soon but I'm scared to death because my doctor told me it very abnormal for my age. I had really bad indigestion and threw up the night before the test because of chipotle idk if that has an effect on my bloodiest or not.

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. It's understandable to feel concerned, especially at a young age. While an eGFR of 76 is indicative of stage 2 CKD, it's important to note that other factors, including recent events like indigestion and vomiting, can influence test results, potentially impacting certain markers. Your doctor's urgency in referring you for an ultrasound reflects the need for further investigation to better understand your condition. Definitely stay in touch with your healthcare provider and ask any questions you may have throughout this process. Wishing you the best! • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, Ashmed! Thanks for your question. While it's preferable for both kidneys to have similar GFR levels, it's not uncommon for one kidney to have a slightly higher GFR than the other. The most important aspect is that the total GFR, which combines the function of both kidneys, falls within a healthy range. If you have concerns about the imbalance in GFR between your kidneys, I recommend discussing them with your healthcare provider. They can offer personalized guidance based on your medical history and specific situation. I hope this helps! Wishing you the best!

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing your results. The difference in GFR between your kidneys, especially with one kidney having significantly lower function, may indicate an imbalance in kidney function. While the total GFR of 98 falls within the normal range, which is good, it's important to address the variation between the kidneys. Again, I highly recommend that you speak with your healthcare provider to explore potential causes and determine the best course of action.

    Does MRI detect CKD stage 1 ? My EGFR was 107 , I just had protein and blood in urine once specially after very heavy exercise and alcohol use . The other urine test didn't show protein and blood. Two general practitioners said that I have kidney disease, but eurolojist said it's not kidney disease after checking all the blood and urine test and MRI . I'm confused, do I have kidney disease?

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great question! While the most common method for detecting CKD is through blood and urine tests, an MRI isn't typically the primary diagnostic tool for detecting CKD. However, it can be employed to provide detailed images that may reveal evidence of kidney damage or abnormalities in specific cases. Occasional protein and blood in urine, particularly after intense exercise and alcohol use, may not necessarily indicate CKD. It's positive that subsequent urine tests didn't show consistent signs. Since both general practitioners and a urologist have assessed your condition differently, it might be helpful to seek a second opinion from a nephrologist, a specialist in kidney diseases. They can provide a more comprehensive evaluation, considering your medical history, test results, and symptoms to offer a clearer understanding of your kidney health. I hope this helps! Wishing you the best in 2024!

    My husband has high creatinine 399, and high urea, 20/50. His eGFR is 12. He followed a carnivore diet for 3 months, lost 15kg and stablised his blood pressure. Howver eGFR dropped from 14 to 12. And urea is high. What to do ?

      I'm sorry to hear about your husband's health challenges. It's great that the diet helped with weight loss and blood pressure, but it seems it may have affected his eGFR and urea levels. Without knowing his full medical history, I'd recommend checking with a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation of his kidney function. A dietitian could also offer insights into adjusting his diet for better health. Including a well-balanced diet with less protein might help in preventing high blood urea levels. For personalized advice based on his unique health needs, reaching out to experts who have access to your husband's specific medical information is the best course of action. I hope this was helpful and I wish you both the best in managing his health in 2024!

      Thanks. I was hoping to know that we were on the right track. It somehow seems wrong to go back to "kidney" diet. That didn't change anything for almost 9 years. I suppose he beat the odds anyway by surviving as well as he did in stage 4. He lost one kidney due to cancer almost 9 years ago, and went from eGRFR 35 TO eGFR 15 overnight.

      I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties he's experienced, losing a kidney to cancer, and the significant drop in eGFR. Every health journey is unique, and sometimes finding the right approach for kidney health can be complex. Have his doctors discussed the possibility of dialysis?

      Thank you for your response. The help, advice coming from the nephrologist and the urologist, have left much to be desired, prescribed blood pressure pills, (which caused the problem of cysts in the kidneys in the first place). The prof of nephrology at Wits university didn't even test vitamin D levels. However, what remains interesting is high protein is recommended for persons on dialysis, and there are instances of restored kidney function, and then what? Thanks for hearing me out

      I'm sorry to hear about the lack of support and guidance you've received from your nephrologist and urologist, especially regarding medication side effects. Each person's journey with kidney health is unique, and seeking a second opinion or consulting with a different healthcare provider might offer a fresh perspective. That's an interesting point you've raised. While high protein is typically recommended for individuals on dialysis to meet their nutritional requirements, the cases of restored kidney function raise questions about how diet impacts kidney health, which in my opinion requires further examination. Looking into this topic could offer valuable insights into managing your husband's kidney-related issues.

    Does IGA cause CKD1?

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, Ahmed! Great question! Well, the straight answer is no. IGA (Immunoglobulin A), for those unfamiliar with it, is an immune system antibody and isn't known to directly cause stage 1 CKD. When it comes to kidney issues, CKD usually stems from factors like diabetes, high blood pressure, and genetics. If you're stressing about your kidney health or dealing with a CKD diagnosis, the go-to move is to speak with a healthcare professional. They're the ones that can help you the most based on your medical history, providing personalized advice and guidance tailored to your specific situation. Wishing you the best in 2024!🙋

    Hi! So I was just diagnosed with Stage 2 Kidney Disease and just turned 40. My Dr. kinda blew it off and said it just happens with age and not worry about it. Should I be concerned?

    • @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach
      @DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, happy late birthday and welcome to the 40s club! I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis, but I appreciate you reaching out and sharing. It's completely understandable that you're concerned, especially given your doctor's response. Your doctor has access to your complete medical file and history; however, seeking multiple perspectives on your health isn't uncommon, and it's your right to advocate for your well-being. You might consider asking your doctor for more details about your diagnosis, such as the specific cause and potential lifestyle changes that could help manage the condition. If you're feeling uncertain or have questions about your diagnosis, I would strongly recommend discussing them with your healthcare provider. They have the expertise and knowledge to address your concerns and provide the most accurate information tailored to your case. Wishing you all the best on your health journey! Feel free to share any updates with us.

      @@DaveYourKidneyHealthCoach Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me. I’m definitely going to take your suggestions because I don’t want this to get worse. He did tell me to change my diet which I know is important but then also blamed it on my age 😩. I guess I need to be more vocal and get more clarification from him. I will definitely report back. Thank you again for the informative video and your kind response! 💕

      Not a problem at all 😊 I'm glad you found the suggestions helpful. It's great that you're taking proactive steps to address the situation. I totally get how the age factor might be a bit confusing, but having a conversation and seeking more clarification from him sounds like a solid plan. Thanks for taking the time to watch it! Have a wonderful holiday!
