I have had tinnitus for 13 years. All the sounds have changed over the years. I now have what sounds like loud white noise and pulsatile tinnitus which sounds like sawing wood. Scans showed nothing and the NHS just sent me on my way. I habituated tinnitus once but pulsatile is very hard to mask. I now have a fan on every night and listen to an audio book. Unfortunately there is no cure.

I’ve had tinnitus for 6 yrs and it get pretty bad at times, but I just keep thinking if God’s promises, and how thankful I am that I can still function regardless of this awful condition. No one has to feed me, dress me, or bath me, that’s a blessing. I try to stay busy although like I said before it get tough, and I do break down and ask God why me? No one knows how awful tinnitus is not unless they have it. Hang in there and trust God to give you the strength to carry on. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😊

I don't believe it wise to use alchol for sleep, the odd wine in moderation never did anybody any harm. Sleep can be testing with T, I think even if u just get rest, the body can survive, eventually the body will do its own thing and close down naturally. Of course we all want to get back to our orginal individual sleep pattern, however I think using things to promote a more relaxed state of body helps. When the body is relaxed so is the mind. Try mindfulness and belly breathing, some gentle yoga, and just before bed a really warm bath and self massaging of the neck jaw and face. Lastly if we practise relaxing the body using body scans in the day, our stress reduces and the T settles and is less bothersome. I believe my patience levels have vastly improved, allowing a clearer perspective, which keeps my urge to use alchol for anything connected with sleep. Cheers from one drummer to another. Martinb

Your a pioneer in a wilderness so please keep going as ENT & GP' don't actually know a great deal & offer little advice or support. I've had Tinnitus for about 5 years now & it's recently escalated to a new sharper, metallic like frequency. Not all the time, but when I eat it can feel like chewing polystyrene! Sound therapy helps a lot, but I'm now having to search out a new audio as the frequency has changed I think I actually have hyperacusis as sounds from everyday things can sound sharp & loud. Habituation takes time, but sound therapy seems the way forward. Thank you for the help & research you are doing. Whoever finds a cure deserves 'a noble peace prize' as that is what it would bring to my ear!

An Objective Treatment needs to finally become available. Dr. Susan Shore’s Device at Michigan University is probably the most promising for us. I’ve also read about Potassium Channel modulators (though originally intended for Epilepsy) that have some promise. Bring these treatments to the public already. People are suffering and I’m sure most of don’t give a damn about possible side effects at this point. I’m tired of hearing about suicides over tinnitus and being on the brink myself. We need a treatment

As the medical and scientific community simply ignores tinnitus that plagues the lives of millions, we have little research, almost none compared to much less unfavorable conditions. Tinnitus destroys people's lives in many areas and research does not advance. Decades and we have only sounds and habituation to be able to continue living, those who can. Maybe neurallink in the future? The great truth that millions have been overlooked by the scientific community.
