I know I'm tardy to the party but whatever I think Harry Potter and Minions take up too much stuff that should've been other things
I’ll answer this here since you were late. Harry Potter was obviously to take up space since when Hogsmeade opened it was such a big hit it would be an idiot move to keep it at just that. And everything Harry Potter at the parks are great. All the rides are great (expect Hippogriff but that barely counts since it’s a kiddie coaster.) Minions is only one little section of the Studios park at the entrance, it doesn’t take up a lot of room, it doesn’t do that much harm. Minion Mayhem is good and VillainCon is mid but we aren’t losing much with them being there.
My hot take is that it sucks (I never went)

I doubt Universal would ever do this, primarily because they basically have a perpetual licence to use a competitor's IP and actively make money from them and their merch. According to InsideTheMagic, rumours like this have existed since 2009 and nothing has come from them, with no sources even cited for where this claim (or even the one from 2009) came from. I think it's safe to assume this is 100% just fearmongering, and will be far into the future.

I'm hoping it is a little lack luster because they are lacking budget from making Epic rn. Though that's not a good excuse, they could at least put some sort of seats in the ride to give the riders legs a break.
I was on that recently and at the final boss battle, we were stuck for 5 minutes and fighting the best villains are so much fun for me.
