Pete Thorn Cable Tests: Cordial Andrew Gouche Signature Cable, 30 Second Thought
Pete Thorn is the ultimate guitar tone connoisseur, so we can’t think of a better person to dive into the “do cables really matter?” question. And we couldn’t be happier that his listening tests confirm that Cordial cables provide better frequency response-allowing more of your true sound to come through-than any of the other cables he tested.
As the nearly 600 comments on Pete’s video show, everyone has an opinion on cables. No matter where you stand, Pete demonstrates that they really do make a difference in your tone---as much, in some cases, as switching pickups. And as Pete concludes, he’d much prefer to have a Cordial cable providing a clear path for his signal than use a cable that’s acting like a tone control.

Andrew born to play bass LEGEND
Something's wrong with my MTD bass. Why doesn't it sound like Andrew's? 😄
I tried to do it that way it at work doesn't sound like you😮
that what we call it out here in Oakland , Ca the same folks that a tortilla' flat bread' like Scott Bass , The Bass Pirate vic wooten he is not the first , so give Mr. Larry Graham respect !!!!!
one like, wth! This is like that scene in indiana jones choosing the holy grail, only all are the right one. I would die of starvation forgetting to eat if I ever ended up in that room. You'd never get me out. Life would never be the same, can only go downhill. ONE LIKE?!? come on
What a guy
Almost TWO decades now (Justin since 2006. Eva since 2007). Eva rejoined the Mars Volta in 2022 and recorded two new albums with them (apart from being a solo artist herself). But she is still touring with Pink.
susvasquez
Thank the great Andrew Gouche for using the correct term-thumping and plucking- not slapping!!!
Lol
Exactly!!! That what the father of the style, Larry Graham, called it…Thumpin and Plucking!!
These bass lines kept my heart beating through a tuff time. Thanks! 😊
So cool to meet the man behind the funk. Bad Mister Bassman!
What brand is that beautiful bass?
When I hear him play these songs the way he does, it makes me want to explore other songs that can be made to sound so much better by adding tasteful playing to them. When she allowed him to play the songs the way he wanted to it opened up a whole new avenue to take the song to another level. Some artists don't want that, and the bass player is stifled to play boring lines because the artist is focused on themselves. Chaka new that this would not take away from her as an artist, but enhance the listening experience and make it pleasing to hear. AG is beast, no doubt and the combination of his skills and her artistry are fantastic! I could watch his videos all day, bass in hand, because it's all a learning experience. Thanks AG, and CK!!!
Sounds awesome
He is the best!! Sounds incredible!!
Question, the Andrew Gouche cable, is it directional?
One of the greatest living guitar players out there and a sweet human being! Seriously cosmic chops and taste.
Your playing on that album in my teens encouraged me to be a better guitar player because our bass player started learning from you haha. Kudos and many thanks for the gift of music you have given the world ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Go back to my St. John days
Con tanto Bajo bonito y elige ese . 😬
Why am I just now finding on TH-cam. I struggle with thumping .. thank you
Love you bro! You are definitely my favorite bass player! Thank you for everything you bring to our instrument! And dont ever stop ! TBZL FOSHZL
Awesome musicianship!
Quel talent ce bassiste sud-africain
AG is a monster!! I remember the first time I saw him play with the gospel chops stuff My head literally exploded! Just incredible.
You are a true bass inspiration! For some reason I don't like the thumb plucking technique.
On who’s I feel for you?
Quando il basso canta! L'espressione del Gospel tradotta armonicamente e melodicamente dal Basso di Andrew Gouche!!! 😇
What is the bass guitar brand that Andrew plays? Sounds amazing.
MTD
Many different basses sound amazing today :)
Makes bass playing look so easy and effortless.
Sweet human.amazing.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Ana live twice, and I truly love her music and how she plays her guitars. See her, and it'll be a great show for you.
Yes sir . Can you please ship that bass guitar to me in Jamaica ?
