Yes, your 9-5 can be a lot, can be overwhelming, and you can even say miserable. But it’s not as bad as you think. At least for most of you. I hope this video helps put things into perspective!

Talking to a lot of friends in the job market, I noticed that it's quite common for people to avoid startups if possible. Finally somebody talking right, without daydream.
Yes, we have to be realistic to survive! Lol. Thanks for watching!
I really appreciated this video, I hope it gets to more people. The job market in my country is really tough and I always thought that the only option for me would be to have my own business. I almost tried, but both times I realized that I would be counting pennies for a long time and that I would be stressed out all the time. So instead, I simply changed industries and even if I don't love it, I love the working conditions, the salary, and the people - including my manager. It would be so difficult for me to get this amount of money and peace of mind if I had become self-employed. Now that I've had stability and prosperity for a couple of years, I can think about ways to start a side business that I can gradually scale and that only takes a few hours a week - which rules out the first two business ideas I had and almost tried. Peace of mind really gave me clarity, now I can think about creating something without making it my plan A immediately. I am very grateful for my 9 to 5
Absolutely!! People need this reality check. Thank you for sharing that!❤️❤️🙏🏻
thank you so much, sharing your experience is a reality check and its a very clear explanation of the ups and down of being the boss and being the employee,,yess- im in a rat race too, but this rat race of mine can help my buy my artwork materials that in turn can sell and create money, plus being in my job as a medtech helps a lot of people like giving advice, it only takes a few little things to be happy, counting blessings everyday makes us rich "im happy im healthy" i'm happy i can see" those little things, to those who are able to create a business and help people have foods on their table, kudos to ya all, kayang kaya po natin lahat to :) be strong.
Im glad you found that helpful. It doesn’t have to be one way or the other. You’re right, our 9-5 jobs help fund our passions without the stress and 24/7 responsibility. Wish you all the best! God bless!
Thanks for the video. This week, I’ve been struggling a lot with my current job, and I’m always thinking about quitting. Most of the time, I forget that it’s a good job and that I’m getting a good salary. Saludos desde México!
Thanks for sharing that. I’ve had those feelings over the years and sometimes we just need a reminder that the grass is not always greener on the other side. God bless and all the best to you!
I completely dislike my job. Every month something else is added. No raise for the past 2 years. RSUs have gotten smaller each year. I make $142k in Houston, TX. That's probably equivalent to about $400k in NYC. I've debated walking away for the past 18 months. It's scary because I know the economy is much worse than the media/fed have led us to believe. If I walk away at 51 years old, I'm sure I'll never find another position that pays as well. I have enough savings to last 3 years calculating 7% price increases per year. 2 year old vehicle and house at completely paid off. I've decided that if ita been on my mind for 1 1/2 years then somethings wrong. So, I'm bowing out 12/20 is my last day. Plus I have 160 hrs of vacation paid out after that. Hopefully, I will find peace in life and I hope anyone else that follows this path will, too.
@@wills8705 wow. Thanks for sharing that. Kudos to you. I think you have positioned yourself well with a fully paid home and a long runway for savings. One of those 230-ish people who genuinely followed you because of your valuable content. ✋🏻 Content suggestion: how to excel in the workplace as a Christian? How do you excel yet stay restful at the same time? I really wanna learn from you. 🩷
aww thank you so much. And that's a great suggestion. I've been thinking about doing something like that (Being a Christian in the work place). I'll definitely keep that in mind as I brainstorm for new video topics. As for staying restful - I think mainly I try my best to stick to my schedule (for the most part) but also listen to my body when I need a break. It doesn't mean I don't get tired.. I'm still exhausted because life is just extremely busy with kids and work. But it feels worse and overwhelming when I don't follow a schedule (like even my shower time, laundry time, etc. is on my calendar lol - but with room for flexibility of course). Also, at the end of the day when I'm feeling so tired, I think about what I did that day and thank God for all the beautiful things that caused my tiredness (healthy kids, a home to clean, a job, a healthy body that can exercise, etc) and this shifts my mindset from being tired to grateful. Thank you so much for your support and feedback!

We were both in the same situation. I left good job because of the manager. I’ve been in teo groups since I left but still not happy because I’m not compatible with my current position. I’m looking forward to go back to my old group since the manager left the company before getting fired. I realize it is my mindset but I rather go back to my old job where I value the work and have the skills to help the company. Thanks for the post it really helps
So happy this helps. I’ve definitely been there.. a lot of times people dont quit because of the job but because of bad managers. God bless you on your next step going back to your old company. Hopefully it all works out this time!

"Success without fulfillment is the ultimate failure." Nobody enjoys a life of constant frustration, limitation, dissatisfaction and quiet resignation.

authenticity is the thing I noticed that big time from like hodgetwins, ryans toy review, blippi, ms rachel, marquess brown lee, thenewboston. They also post short videos.
100% agree on authenticity!!! There’s a debate about shorts for those channels focused on long form and I have yet to decide my final stance on this lol
As soon as she said "as a mum" I switched off. Being a female doesn't entitle you to a right of less stress. This type of toxicity has no place in modern society. I wish you the best. But you don't get a free pass just because you have two X chromosomes.
Thank you for your comment! I understand where you're coming from. My decision to leave my job wasn't about seeking a "free pass" or feeling entitled to less stress because I'm a mom. For me, it was about finding the right balance between my personal values, family, and career. Everyone’s circumstances are different, and for me, it was important to prioritize my well-being and my family during that time. People need to STOP quitting their jobs - things are about to get even MORE tough in the economy and it's going to be impossible to get those positions/salaries back.
Hi! Totally get where you're coming from. Financially, it may not be the best decision. Mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, it was the best decision for me and my well-being. But again, we have different situations, different thresholds of stress, etc. appreciate your thoughts!
If the job is affecting your health, you most definitely need to quit and/or look for alternatives.

@@jeannemari3classy response. Nyc is super expensive but I think privileged folks forget the median household income is around 80k…I make more than I ever dreamed of as a kid who grew up in poverty here and it’s not lost on me that many people have parents who make <80k still
So u can do that becuase there is a partner that handles the financial burden, otherwise u will have no way out other than keep working
That’s right. For the longest time, I was the breadwinner despite having a partner, my husband stayed home with the kids. It’s not until very recently that with God’s grace his career took a turn and is now able to support us financially. He was very supportive and wanted to give me this opportunity to experience being a “stay at home mom” and spend more time focusing on the family. But you are right, if not for his career taking off, I wouldn’t be able to do this. I’m very grateful.

I also want to quit my job. but unfortunately it doesn’t make sense financially. I’ve been under a lot of pressure and feeling stressed for the past a few years. I sometimes wish I was very sick so I can take a long break.
So sorry to hear that. I’ve been on the same boat for years and fortunately the wfh/hybrid helped ease a bit but still not for long. I definitely recommend taking some vacation days to maybe focus on applying for new opportunities if that’s something you want to do.
