just get a brand new oem one had same issue on my 04 accord put the new one on with new gasket fixed the limp mode and let me accelerate to redline

Yo my nephews civic was doing the same with the limiter issue. It was a fuse that was blown for the iat sensor. When he replaced it he was able to hit vtec again. Check all your fuses. Hope you find the issue. Check all your grounds . God bless.

If it was boosted you must have a 4bar map sensor, try installing the regular 2bar map sensor if not installed already.

My car was in limp mode but a tune bypassed it and my car would red line but would not engage vtec, turned out I had a stretched chain, and I had to reset my chain tensioner, so I replaced both. Hope this helps in any way👍🏼 I reviewed your other content, I’d recommend seeing the car as if nothing was ever replaced, if your at a certain mileage or time that something needs replacing as in fluids or mechanical items they may need replacing, id start with the new timing chain and tensioner, won’t hurt since the car might already need a new one and car is already showing signs of a stretched chain. (If guy installed cams or installed his old cams before selling car, during that process it could have stretched the chain too. Id probably recheck valve lash on all valves too just to be sure they are all at spec and not too tight or loose.) My MAF sensor was disconnected at one time and it did not let me get passed 3k, if also check and diagnose your MAF sensor, it may be faulty or dirty. The aftermarket TB or manifold could cause a slight issue with that but let’s start with the MAF sensor 1st. I’d double check your grounds and make sure all are tight and scrape paint off if some grounds are faulty and grounded to paint. Also may not be an issue but your vvt solenoid connected to your cam, id check that too, make sure no gunk is causing your vvt to not engage, once uninstalled just run high pressure air through it and it should open and engage itself. There is probably a lot more things I can recommend for diagnosing but these are some of the main issues I ran into myself. Hope these opinions/recommendations help in any way👍🏼

the one you installed is missing the other sensor, you can compare both and see one has two sensors and the other one has one(the one you installed) . un do the bolt on the new one and screw in the old sensor and i bet that helps. happened to two of my 8th gens, hope it helps hit vtec

I had this happen on my 04 rsx type s I couldn’t go past 4k changed the solenoid new genuine one never came back and enjoy my vtec when I first got it ode shit went as well

That light will come and go that solenoid is what engages vtec also low oil is another common reason for it not work and engage vtec

My guy just get a new vtec solenoid a genuine Honda one and your problems will be gone don’t mess with turning of the oil pressure

In my opinion you should continuing talking bad about the car 😂😂.once you get it running good..put it ina garage or install a good alarm..youll have some haters locally when you fix it good

Clean the vtc screen on the front of the head. If vtec still doesn't work change the vtc actuator behind the pulleys. If it still doesn't work, bypass the vtec oil pressure switch altogether. Not sure what your plans are for the car but vtec pissed me off on my first 09 Si. Bypassing the oil switch made vtec 100% of the time. The JDM engines don't even have a oil pressure switch so not sure why we got them. Not sure if you mentioned it but what is the code you're getting for vtec?

Change the timing chain tensioner asap as well. My 08 Si had a brand new inline pro that failed. Better safe than sorry.

I recently had the same issue buying a tsx. Turned into a brief headache and some rigged up things.

Might be in some type of limp mode, Leave both battery post disconnected over night, connect next day & turn on, might work,

Check the plug for it. Check all 3 of your grounds too
