It's kind of a trip seeing Mike play a bass that's not an Ernie Ball Stingray. Maybe he just uses that bass exclusively for MxPx and the P Bass was just his backup bass.

I noticed the P Bass instead of the Stingray right away. I don't remember ever seeing Mike playing a P Bass.
Philip Jackson he plays a p bass in the doing time video. He also records some of the MxPx songs with a p bass as well as a peavey bass. He mainly uses stingrays live but has used a p bass live before. Occasionally he still does, it is rare but it happens.
In the "Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo" Era he used to play a fender p bass sunburst.
