Any time someone has a huge Hit, the next one will almost always be disappointing even if it charts high. The Who's I Can See for Miles followed by Call Me Lightning. Won't Get Fooled Again followed by Let's See Action.

Thanks for the review, Iain! The first half of the title track reminds me more of AC/DC than Nektar. The instrumental second half is excellent though. "Long Lost" and "One Day" are very solid with "One Day" being my favorite. A good but not a great album for me.

I love Praying Mantis! They show that Heavy Metal can be more melodic and catchy! My problem with bands like Metal Church and Manilla Road is that they crossover into Thrash, I love Thrash but not mixed with Heavy Metal. But these guys mix Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep and Rainbow with the heaviness of Iron Maiden. Superb band! Love them! Great album arts and mascot too!

I wasn't too familiar with this album or Sparks in general. I gave the album a full listen - a very unique sound indeed. My two favorite tracks are Amateur Hour and Falling In Love With Myself again so based on just one listen so far, I agree with Side 1 also. Thanks Iain for the introduction!

Hi Iain, the best thing about the Christmas album is that we hear Dylan singing "ho ho ho", who would ever have thought LOL a terrible album IMO but it does have novelty value. and i agree with your favourite album here - Lloyd

Hi Iain- Sparks are soooo interesting! They get LOTS of praise, have a HUGE discography but their stuff is a bit hard to find in the wild (at least I don't see them very often). I only have 'Whomp that Sucker' and 'Pulling Rabbits Out of a Hat'... I really need to hunt down Kimono and Propaganda, which, to be honest, I've wanted for years!

My best friend bought the debut Nazz album when it was first released and we used to listen to it together at his place all the time. Love "Open My Eyes", "Hello It's Me", "When I Get My Plane", "She's Going Down" etc. Nazz Nazz is very good too but for me it doesn't surpass the memories and great sounds of the debut. Thanks Iain!
