Nice illustration of the QSO with thee Vband robot. One thing you didn't mention is how you interfaced your key with the computer. Did you use the one Ham Radio Solutions sells on their website?

Are the buttons with red illumination on a different system? I have no lighting on power switch, the soft keys left of the screen, or on the numeric pad. Everything else works.

hi. i realise this vid is old now but maybe you still monitor comments as i have only just found it. did you have the v-band adaptor for your key? or did you use some other method to for the key to work with the program? thanks redders m5act

Good information.

I recently did modify the original CCFL to LED back light using the existing ccfl driver circuit with slight mods. you will need to remove L802 and change D801 (3V zener) to 6.8~7.4V zener depending on the LED strip. I've used a 6.8V zener for 12V, 4mm LED strip which you can get from Ali. The positive of LED strip is supplied from the Q802 collector and the negative of LED strip is grounded. The higher zener voltage, the higher brightness of LED. Of course, your LED back lighting can be adjusted as the original CCFL back lighting.

Well done, I am about to tackle the inverter in a 746 Pro, this is a tempting alternative.

Hi Barry, Thank you for your brilliant video. I hope you don't mind me asking a relevant question? Last night whilst I was using it on receive the screen suddenly went very red. Is it possible this could be due to the display itself rather than the backlight and if so have you had this problem yourself? Kind regards, Steve

I have just acquired a really nice Pro-3 where the display really is not too bad but have decided to implement your method 3 to further enhance the screen quality. may I ask where you obtained the LED strip and also please can you confirm that the predominant blue looking screen is due to your phone camera and that the reds and yellows are still as good as before?
