Those RCAWD metal diffs are 💩! They make yokes for the plastic 3s diffs, those will help tremendously. For the slipper, I recommend a 4s slipper. They have extra plates and metal spur. I would suggest getting the arrma one cause the rcawd version isn't that great. Those are the parts I used to reduce the same problems you described.

Yeah, they sent me a set to do a video on. They're mad I didn't do the video cause I didn't like the product. I showed them how it broke on the first jump. Told them I can't promote something I wouldn't install in my own rc.

It has good power, I run that rtr kuron motor in my mt8 and love it in that car. It just doesn't have the torque of this motor and predictable throttle response, that I like. This motor has a way more linear throttle response compared to the progressive wind up of the kuron motor but only slightly more torque. It just fits my driving style better cause for me it's easier to predict. Nothing against the stock motor, this one is just slightly more powerful and has certain characteristics that I prefer, and it doesn't run as hot as the kuron.

This is the saver mod I came up with when I found a bad fault in the stock saver system after a few months of owning it. I eliminated the stock saver and installed this one do the job. The saver is a Treal made for losi LMT or an axial Ryft. I'll go on the fb mt8 page and tag you in a post that Mit Snori did detailing this modification. He's got a bunch of details on it there.

@@captaincouldverc You are the man. He did say he got most his modifications from you. I bought the aluminium servo saver nut as I also identified the issue almost out the box ha ha. That nut didn’t even last one bash session before I put the stock plastic one back in. I run a perfect pass which is wasted as I’m constantly tightening up the saver nut. I’ll be looking at your modification for sure. Epic dude nice one. 😝😝😝

Yeah Mitty is the man and gives credit appropriately. Unfortunately the aluminum saver nut isn't the fix people think it is. It is temporary at best and only covers one of the problems. The other problem is dirt and moisture will work its way between the plastic collars of the stock saver system, and will eat itself away from the inside out after a months, making the steering very sloppy over time.

@@captaincouldverc Yep, spot on. I have the sloppy jalopy steering with a top servo right now 😂. Worst buy I ever made at nearly £11 , what a rip off. Screw cross threaded the nut and then had no steering at all. Currently the perfect pass was just a waste of money!!! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Look forward to getting all your knowledge installed on my MT8 which I’m trying to make EXB. I love the little beast so much I’m trying to bring my own part upgrades to the UK but the small list of parts I have selected to be made in 7075 come to £30K to manufacture and produce min order of 200 each!!!! Yeah that's certainly a weak spot. As of now there's nothing officially on the market that I would recommend. Hopefully soon there will be a majestic company to help us out with that part. I have been bugging a few companies about this part and showing them how often I get this exact question. Hopefully soon.

I can't recall where I heard this but I was told to boil or put them in hot wster and it makes the plastic stronger,. Have u or any1 heard of that at all?

All rumors with no scientific backing. At most, you can add oils to help retain original flexibility but can not make it much better. There is certain things you can do to your suspension to avoid this breaking so often, but this only works if your breaking it from jumps, specifically skatepark ramps, and will not work if you're just crashing into random objects.

I don't take it to the skate park, I take it on a field, and bike track in the woods. I broke it jumping the grass humps on the field. Iv put rpm arms a fastrax front bumper thing. wheel spacers so it's wider new suspension was nxt on the list. Any other upgrades u can suggest would b welcome also which videos of urs to watch that would help me out. Cheers captain thanks for responding.

This is one of my favorite mods to the mt8. It added so much crash protection while looking majestic!

I wanted to get one of those 42series so bad, but life happened so I had to use this older 40 series rocket motor. Which is a great motor, but those new ones look amazing! I highly recommend you get the corally 46t spur gear and it'll give better pinion options. In my opinion this gearing (46/14) is perfect for the 17**kv motors and stock size tires. Right on the edge of ripping them off the beads.

I had to get something to replace my Kraton, so the kagama was the best choice for me. The rollers are such an unbeatable deal. Such a robust car under $400 The spark is next on my list, but I'll have to wait till next year for that little majestic thing.

The kraton did survive and the mt8 broke a rear hub. Can't wait to see what you got in store for us next!

While that is a nice upgrade for the 3/4s line, this isn't a car I want to throw that much more money at. I solved a few problem areas and now it's a solid unit. Performs majestically every time I take it out with no breakages.

Yeah man, this thing boogies now! One of my favorite motors and just think, this is the older motor. They make a newer BIGGER version of it now! I may have to get it soon after confirming the gearing is perfect. Then I can throw this motor in my mt8.

Ohh, the super glue I use isn't good for field fixes. Takes too long set. I'll just bring extra sets of tires, if I can.

I know in the next month or 2 they're supposed to unveil some cars in Utah. One of them being a 7th scale street car. Maybe they're about to do a V3? But the V2 is still available and yes the V1 (red white and blue color) is discontinued and is not returning.

Don't believe the rumors until TA says it. People are looking at the V1 page and ignoring the other 2 models of it. As of now, TA says the Rival MT10 is still in production and 2 different models are available to order. The V2 brushless and brushed. With the cult like following that car has, it would be fiscally irresponsible for them to ditch that car. They will ditch the mt8 before the mt10! 100% 😆 🤣 That will break my heart 😆

I saw that, but I'm not a fan of that bumper style. I much prefer a longer skid plate styled front bumper cause the kagama likes to bite the turf on landings and a longer front skid plate should help stop that. Been looking at Phase1 bumpers.

I'll pass on that. It's twice the price and same speed as mine. Mine is just as fast as that one according to the spec sheet. Mine is also rated at 0.07 seconds at 7.4v I don't need an extra 3kg in strength on a car that weighs less than 10 pounds. Especially at that price, mine are almost half the price of those. I'll stick with my inexpensive ones. Never broken any of these either, and I run these in ALL of my cars.

@@captaincouldverc I might try the cheaper ones if an SPT breaks but so far they have been rock solid. It would be nice to compare actual performance. I have a feeling that the cheap servo spec sheets are a work of fiction across the board :D

@@radiovlogi If you get one, you'll immediately learn it ain't fiction. On yours, when you're turning the tx wheel and release it, it snaps back fast and does a quick back and forth bounce right... This one does that too. I've literally never seen a faster servo than this one. Even some of the $100+ servos I've personally seen are not faster than this Animos. This brand shouldn't be slept on. The one you have only has mine beat on the 8.4v (which I believe is fiction-the scaling of distribution highly suggests this) according to their chart, no strength is gained moving from 7.4v to 8.4. Which should be how it gets rated at 3 more kg+ 0.01 faster than mine. The status on 7.4v is the same as what I use. The one you have, ain't special by any means. Nor is mine, but at half the cost of what your proposing, I'll stick with what has been reliable and great to me. The oldest one I have of these is almost 4 years old and still going fast and strong. Thanks anyways.

@@captaincouldverc I'll keep yours in mind. Always good to have alternatives knowing that sometimes the quality just suddenly stops on a certain product. At one point jx exoboost was all the rage and suddenly people needed other options for example, because they started breaking.

I have a kraton 6s exb. It is by far the worst rc I've ever owned.

It's so nice that I don't have to worry about that mount anymore. Now the only battle I have left with this car is driveshafts. If can get those sorted, this car will be almost unstoppable.

I wish I could get mine out more often! There's a new skatepark I found I need to check out in the next couple weeks when it's stops raining so hard.

You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Once you get those parts fitted, your mt10 will be a little tank! The f/R diff fluid in mine were fine, but the center was a little low. I did change them out. The center I did immediately cause it was way too loose and sent majority of the power to the front wheels. In the center I'm running 500k with a pinch of 1 million. Front is 50k Rear is 30k

Yeah I couldn't let the bad reviews stop me once I saw it used the same and as redcat kaiju. That's what I used till last year when rpm came out with their arms. The redcat ones are direct fit, and work well if the weather isn't that cold. Redcat makes aluminum and plastic hubs that are direct fit. The redcat plastic is much better than TA, so even the plastics are an upgrade to stock. 😆 Next problem on the rig is turnbuckles, but I use arrma 5mm turnbuckles, and have never bent one since swapping. But yeah if you get one, I got the answers for ya to make it a reliable beast. The mt8 body will kinda fit mt10 but it's really wide and will need trimming that might hurt the looks of it.

@@captaincouldverc thanx man. TA needs to step up their plastic game! I got the Helion Avenge when it was discontinued for 199.99. Loved it! Then parts ran out and i was S.O.L.! Then i saw TA releasing the rival and was all hell yeahs! But to discover quickly the plastics were much harder/lighter and didnt have the flex as helions plastic but still the TA mt10 is a tuff truck but it isnt as tuff as the helion was. The wheelie bar was all they had it beat on. But thanx to TA the old Avenge lives on and im grateful. Love those rigs. Axle stubs are a bitch. Traxxas 1/10 fronts is what i run on the rear HD’s and no real heavy tires or ones with a lot o side grip. TA should really do V2 with some minor upgrades as u have done and put the MT8 back in the game! The potential of the platform is certainly worth it! Redemption TA CMON!

@@captaincouldverc yeah it seems to be getting great reviews and theres been lots of small cheaper rigs proving to be good bashers lately. Maybe times are a changing! Idk what is so hard about making things out of stronger materials. Hell a chopping board wud make a tuff truck lol.

My dream build is a 30 degree north 5th scale with a simple 8s system. Nothing too gnarly. Just enough to get close to 60mph and I'll be super happy. Nothing against the gassers, just not really my thing. I do enjoy watching the gassers. Some of them 2strokes know how to party 😆

All the good hills for that near me, are private property. Mostly cattle grazing land. Here in the states, especially in the rural areas, it's not safe to trespass on other peoples land. Especially farmers. I may not come back alive and I enjoy living 😆

The HW 4274 motor that's in it, won't like gearing up that much. It will get super hot super fast. But stay tuned, I'm currently changing the motor, spur gear and pinion. More power and speed is coming! I promise.

No. I'm using a 120a esc. Hobbywing max10SCTg1 They no longer make that esc, but the new Hobbywing Quicrun 10bl120G2 is the exact same as the one I use.
