'A Disorder 4 Everyone!' hosts online events that challenge the mainstream narrative in ‘mental health’. We challenge the scientific validity of psychiatric diagnoses and encourage ways of understanding emotional distress and ways of responding to it that don’t pathologise the individual.
AD4E events attract anyone who is interested in responding to emotional distress without falling into medicalised traps. Our attendees include psychologists, counsellors & psychotherapists, people with lived experience, journalists, politicians, academics, mental health support professionals, psychiatrists, managers, friends/family/allies of people who are struggling, and individuals with a personal interest.

Very smart man.
How do I get in touch with Mr Robert Whitaker
I have diagnosis of schizoaffective, and I don't suffer from hallucinations or anything at all like that
That's great poetry! 🤌🤌
so lucky the experience she had in meditation because those 'quite interesting thing' the altered state could easily have been negative and tipped her into a psychotic type experience something that can happen with meditation - See Dr Willoughby Britton's work.
Well done, not many escape the medical model, especially if the family is very dysfunctional, how would anyone know ? as children its tricky to process anything correctly to understand it. Very few as adults manage to work it out enough to muddle a way to get well and off medications, as they are super addictive. Very sad state. nothing is ever what it seems on planet earth.
Superb poem, with not an ounce of bitterness in it despite the many reasons it could have. Absolute must read. Will share widely. Thank you Sanah,
A just gorgeous, moving and empowering video - thanks Sanah! I discovered your powerful much-needed work at an online festival of "A Disorder 4 Everyone" and now the book launch of the latest "Drop The Disorder: Do Something!" edited by Jo Watson ✊️💜
Thank you for this!
Depression not so of
This is why im against it due to fact i have no depression
Heavy metals, pathogens, yeasts, fungi, viruses, parasites, depleted nutrients, spiritual crisis, bacteria, chemicals, poor gut, trauma, abuse, stress, grief, vagus nerve tone, inflammation, so many happens. the fixes are sound healing, yoga, nutrition diet improvements to heal the gut, hydration, juicing, heavy metals detox smoothies, fruits, fresh herbs, soups, salads, veg, avoid nasty people, tune out of the TV and news papers, chatting, retreat, swimming, walking, rest, sleep, these all take practice each day and a long time if you have been feeling ill for a while. Healing is always possible. The story many are told is at best a lie, as no chemical genetic brain imbalance exists or ever existed.
This should be the number #1 priority in mental health, around the world. So many lives are currently destroyed due to labels as well as trial & error medicines that can mess up the brain.
❤
It should be banned
I really appreciate what Matt said at the end- that maybe activism is about choosing what we choose to do out of love and compassion (thus not re-traumatising peoples). Thanks Indigo and Matt, it was a great talk.
That must have been horrible for Indigo to see misuse of her efforts. Agree people have a choice to try to stand up even if only in a small way/not be complicit as Matt said. Systems are not people but but people serve systems probably for many reasons: out of fear, when they perceive benefit to themselves - there's lots of fear generated from having all that responsibility - the system is a monster with teeth!
Interesting (to see the comments of others here), I am going to leave this comment for myself (if I come back to it), I might've gone through 6 sessions of ultra brief pulse ECT in June 2024. I did have gaps in memory like forgetting whether I'd told someone something so I tell it to them again. But as of now Aug 12 2024, I have no memories or functional disabilities. I do have a slight tremor in my left hand but I am uncertain whether it is from the meds I take (because it used to be there albeit less intense/less pronounced for at least a couple years before the ECT, possibly thanks to mood stab meds), as my meds have been significantly changed from what I was taking before ECT. An antidepressant has been reduced from its max permissable dose to the lowest permissable dose for eg. But other meds have been added. Until about 2 weeks ago I overall felt really good, I had to agree that it was like depression was in remission, until I had a significant change in my routine where I had to go be at a friend's for their wedding related stuff. Mood has been slowly decreasing/worsening since imho albeit that could also be due to new work challenges added last week plus having to face the fact that my current job does not provide me with a salary I can last a month on, if I did not have others monetary assistance. Especially the knowledge that to get a job that pays 2-3x this, I will have to go through a much tougher stressful corporate work environment, which seems unfeasible when I still struggle with my current job in academia (less stress than corporate). I have watched talks by psychiatrists on how the post ECT relapse rate is v high, hence the need for maintenance meds, and in some cases maintenance ECT... Something I will talk to the professor about when I meet them next week. But I'd really like to see how I do longer term (wish to revisit this comment and reply to it) especially since I do still plan on entering the higher stress corporate work environment for the higher pay, since if I am to stay in my current job path, I will have to do a masters or MBA to progress, which would add stress too on top of the current job anyway.
Psychiatry is just économique and politocs nothing scientific in it .
I knew drs were lying, gaslighting. Nurse who assaulted me while i was coming out of a coma
The damage they did to my body and mind wasn't enough revenge they canceled, smeared, blacklisted, and paid people to incite violence on me for years.
Staff at hospitals,Bayers Rd years ago, blood clinic
Done 6 sessions and my life is ruined my brain is not the same anymore memory wise nor cognitive functions and caused me migraine like symptoms.... to sue them in Canada success rate is 33% unfortunately. These criminal doctors need to pay the price of this monstrosity
At least your only child was not taken away from you. Did they take a cent out of your pocket? Garfield NJ 07026 needs children foster families need to have a lexus
This T shirt is great. Where can I buy it?
Thank goodness. You are speaking the truth. For those who have ears to hear. Lead us on.
What a beautiful soul.
Fantastic Ruth. Thank you 🙏🏻
i found a solution, whether it will work we will see, and i dont recommend others do it. but whatever it takes to get out of the dungeons of psychiatry
powerful stuf
Thank you
The reality is that we are in the dark age (probably worse than that) of mental health. On one side we have the biochemical model, on the other one those psycho-social models which are absolutely ineffective and are more political than anything else. The truth is that our industrialized societies are incompatible with mass mental wellbeing, there is hope for the single individual but most people are not capable/willing to put up against the entire civilization. It may sounds like some Übermensch rant, but even rants are true somethimes.
I'm french and had 5 electrochocs in France. I suffer from horribles and chronic headaches since I had it, and had to learn to manage to life with a feeling of pain that made my cried everydays. I also have the impression I perform worse in academics. I had to abandon my studies for a while because I felt so much pain while studying and trying to memorize I wasn't capable to continue. I have less less ECT than this woman and I empathise. ECT horribles sides effects are real.
Psych labels are harmful, destructive and even dangerous. I was misdiagnosed and given pills that caused side effects mainly weight gain. Psych labels are power controls which can damage and even destroy the people they are given to.
I had around 21 sessions, and I feel that I regret it. It’s been roughly 7 years. I am experiencing a loss of learned abilities, short-term memory issues, learning new things can be difficult where I’ll have to keep going over information over and over in order to get it. I feel more blank in general
It does more damage than good
That's called being old
😢

Laura, This was quite a while ago, now. I want to once again Thank You and Commend you for your selfless work on behalf of the vulnerable, suffering, powerless victims of these demons. They all know what the future is for patients who take their drugs. You have done an immense amount of good. It's too late for me, but I will continue on with the Fight! I admire your strength and resolve. I wish I Knew Then. I might well have been by your side. As I write this they are still destroying lives, but The DEA is finally going after them for recklessly prescribing benzos. It's a start, anyway. I know this to be the case. It only took The Authorities 65 years to hold them accountable for that. What they did to me is not only criminal, but profoundly shocking.
