Artful victory- it was so close at the end too. This was one of the best games I've seen in last few weeks. That split at the end you did over the two specials was just genius (and it doesn't take a whole lot of sweaty micro to do that... just calmness under pressure) Really enjoy your videos, you're so well-mannered and well-spoken and yet not a push-over, and obviously very knowledgeable at the game. They had literally the best three factions in the meta right now (Atreides, Corrino, Smugs-CHOAM) and yet you won with arguably the most challenging faction to play. Well done

Man I love atreides, what’s wrong with them?
nothing at all - they're very strong. i'm just not a huge fan of their play style. they are very strong, have great military, and are tough to assassinate. but they are rewarded for submarining and spiking ahead in the late game, and are rewarded for playing more passively to get a max vetted army.

Hi Kenri! Just a suggestion if you could then please try and hide the result of the video in the thumbnail it would be great. It takes down the excitement a bit as we know who's gonna win from that.
I'm so sorry for the stream cutting off early! There's a 5-minute delay we've been adding to tournament streams, and I think I need to troubleshoot when I end the stream vs the broadcast as a result. To avoid any spoilers, this game was won by the person who had the most hegemony at the end of the stream. He took it to the limit, truly.

I am so sorry! I am still getting used to the streaming delay and I think it cut off the video prematurely. I'll be sure to troubleshoot this for hte next one. my bad!

What do you think about fencers?
not so durable, but they are only 3 CP, have great DPS, and can really help in taking down more lightly armored units. they are pretty useful early, but in the late game more durable or ranged units are preferred in most comps. definitely have a use tho. i wouldnt mind seeing them utilized more often

Many of the Navigator, Open, and Dune Monthly tournaments have a mix of new players and very new players. These games become a little off-meta as a result.

Smug traded that win. I thought Corrino would have won that, but then both smugs and Corrino just went AFK after that Gov Landsraad. Overall pretty exciting. Thanks for the vid.

First time playing Fremen, overextends and loses -> Fremen are F tier, not playable. Developers cant develop games. What a cope.
I think the Fremen army hasn't changed meaningfully - they just can't rely on skirmishers anymore. They need a more balanced composition, they need to use mobile turrets, and Otheym now has more utility making the hero choice more interesting. The big change is they need to plan their main base buildings around their Sietch RNG, which is a big difference. Sietches themsevles need to not aggro onto allied Fremen units. In a patch today, they also increased the pillage duration for Sietches, so Fremen can now respond to and defend a sietch being pillaged, which is huge. Unfortunately, a programming error changed the yields of pillaging such that you get like 500k solari from pillaging a village, so we'll wait for a hotfix :)
Very odd - I had three agents on counterintelligence prior to the assassination being detected, but at the time of assassination only one remained. Anyone have an idea what might have happened to the other two on counter-intelligence? It must be that when capturing enemy agents from a detected operation, it takes agents randomly rather than from the information field of the operation. I think I could have had a chance if I pivoted to picking on Smuggs after taking away the white rift. I didn’t really realize how impactful workshop obfuscation was.
yeah obfuscation is very very strong, but it’s even more strong if you anticipate win cons because you can get benefits of a tech before obfuscation. For example, if you think the game will be won on heg, you can get early workshops until others start getting passive, at which point you can obfuscate it. you’ll have then accumulated passive before the tech goes away. some factions benefit from early obfuscation tho. Smugs can get up to like 30ish passive from UHQs. Ecaz has champs. Corrino has the monument. Hark has a different tech for it. It’s just a lot of experience to figure out what to obfuscate and when.
Absolutely adore the Dune Community. Wine with a game of Dune SW is quite refreshing.
It’s a great group and I’m glad it’s still growing! hopefully some more minor balance tweaks will maintain interest.

I like to try making “suboptimal” choices work because it helps you learn more about the game’s mechanics. I played a fair bit of Shimoom before this most recent patch, and now that he’s been buffed, he’s actually viable and I think useful in the current meta. The big problem is the sietch rework because they’re very difficult to defend right now.
