2020 Explorer ST - Thermal R&D Exhaust (Start-Up, Revs, and Underside Piping)
A bit cleaner version of the start-up, revs, and underside of the Thermal R&D exhaust on my 2020 Ford Explorer ST. I think that this is the best-sounding of the commercially available exhausts right now. The gorgeous pipe and mufflers really adds a lot to the package. All 304 steel, as well.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT - Custom x-pipe to stock mufflers cold start

This is the cold start after removal of the suitcase resonators on the Jeep SRT. The stock mufflers have a really nice sound when they are allowed to breathe.
2009 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan -- KPE Catback Exhaust (Start up and revs)

Start up and revs for a good sound clip of a KPE catback on a sedan. It's a gorgeous piece of exhaust. Beautiful welds, great construction. No drone inside. This is the sound clip on the same day of install. I'll try and remember to upload another one after it is broken in. The mufflers and tips have been coated in Opti-Coat 2.0 to try and keep them clean.

First Round. The Corvette is a 10 second car. He tried to sandbag and failed at it, breaking out by a thousandth of a second. 2004 GTO: Heads, cam, bolt-ons.

Great coverage of underside. cool. R&D Exhaust looks like good fitment and great sound. Have 2021 and am considering Corsa but haven't decided yet. I don't see the cats. Are they right at the downpipe from the headers? Subscribed.
This still has stock cats. So, yeah, they connect right to the stock cats.
@@youngrushhour -- the R&D system seems to bolt right up to the cats .. Like the cat back system.. Don't see the listing at Thermal's website -- do u have a link pls.

What downpipes are you running?
Stock down pipes.
I do like the sound, but the clamp on tips and visible rear mufflers/resonators give it a kinda cheap or stock look to it? I love the look from the back when you can't see a muffler. I know Corsa's system is like that, but it probably has a bit more drone to it without the rear mufflers. Also, I assume this is with the stock cats/downpipes?
I prefer to see the mufflers a bit. Especially when they look THIS good. Thermal really did amazing work .
@@youngrushhour I feel ya, it kinda depends on the vehicle too. I don't know that polished SS mufflers hanging out the back of my blacked out ST would "fit".
@@thehhoff69 You can always paint them with high temp paint. Also, you could always email Woosh Motorsports (who sells these) and see if they have someone who can paint or coat them as well to match the black tips.
@@no-oneno-one7802 I almost certainly would have them painted/powder coated. I'd also probably swap out the tips (not crazy about them) and have them welded on. We used to cut off stock tips and clamp on aftermarket tips when we were kids, but a $$ cat back system should have proper welded tips. That's all time and money though. Not a deal breaker, just disappointing.

Yep. 5 Star tune. Went with 5 Star due to the warranty that they provide.

did you have to do any engine work to keep anything from slinging apart?
Stock coyote engine is good revving up to 7000-7200 and anything under 650rwhp is generally deemed safe with a good tune provided you have the injectors or boost-a-pump to make that much. Billet oil pump gears for peace of mind is usually a good idea if you spin higher than 7200 rpm and/or make over 650rwhp.

What kind of tires you running on there? I have problems with traction and I'm running 295/35 18 continental extreme contact DW tires. I have to be super easy on the gas on takeoff and it will still chirp the tires pretty good at over 100... You seem to have some pretty sticky tires

I have a '14 GT w/the same mufflers...awesome sounding...just wondering if yours were just off center in the cut-outs like mine, seems like the tips are fanned out (for lack of a better term) just a tad

Actually, they are made poorly. Leaned against the rear diffuser. I didn't feel like bending them with a pipe bender, so I just am ditching them.

Oh I gotcha. Well anyways it sounds great! Do you daily drive the car? What's the mileage on it? I have headers, exhaust, intake, & a dyno tune on mine and drive mine every day rain or shine. I'm thinking about getting a new cam, put probably something not quite as aggressive as yours that will work on the stock converter.

What are the full specs of the cam?
