Being a 2014 R8 V8 owner as well, I agree with his review 100%. 😎🤙🏼 It’s a supercar. Back in 2014, it’s mid engine, exotic looks, 400+ HP, and it wasn’t crazy mass produced like corvette and Porsches and GTRs. And 10 years later, my car still break necks at exotic car meets full of $100k+ supercars. Oh yeah, I’ve own the car for 4 years and it hasn’t dropped a dime in value. Let’s a see a c8 corvette do that. 😂

It’s not the same flavor as a Lamborghini or Ferrari, but it can outperform many run-of the-mill supercars. It kind of creates its own category. 1000+ hp and sub-2s zero-to-sixty-hard to dismiss. But, let’s make it even more confusing: the Tesla Model X Plaid has the same powertrain and almost as fast acceleration, and it’s almost a van. Not a supercar? What about Lamborghini’s SUV? Are we down to body-shaming roomier warp-capable vehicles?

It’s the proper trim, in the proper color, and it suits your needs. I can’t be upset with that! Our complex neighbors at work run a zero-emission lawn care business and have a mid-tier Lightning that is constantly towing a loaded trailer. It serves their needs well also, and they have no complaints. The owner of the company has said it does better than his R1T in that line of duty, even.

Idk, I feel like the fact that it has the looks of a super car and just beat a vehicle everyone considers a supercar in a race, definitely makes it a super car. People just can’t get over the 3 cylinder.

I definitely consider the V8 R8 a supercar. Like you said, you know one when you see one. The threshold into “supercar” territory in my book is V8 R8, Nissan GT-R, Mercedes AMG GT. To me they are all incredible cars that make you FEEL SOMETHING. Great video man!

It depends on the true definition of a "supercar" not "your" definition. I'd say it's not a supercar but that's fine. I'll be placing my order for one in a few months. Its quicker and faster than most supercars and since speed sells thats a big deal. 9.2@153mph in the 1/4 speaks for itself.😂😂

So... if you take a Lamborghini, remove the V12 and replace it with a 3-cylinder Suzuki engine, would it still be a supercar, because it LOOKS like a supercar? Nope. As Forrest Gump said, stupid is as stupid does. I say, the Model S Plaid goes stupid fast, so yes it's a supercar. It's a sleeper supercar.
