Canon Paul Rampton. speaking (6 minutes) at the 9:30 Holy Communion at Steyning Parish Church for Bible Sunday (27 October 2024) warns of the dangers of taking Bible passages out of context, when we need to consider the whole picture, of universal faith, translated to today's customs. He suggests we read the whole Gospel, treating it as a novel, in one go - and recommends St Luke.

At the 9:30 Music Group Eucharist for the 21st Sunday after Trinity (20 October 2024) at Steyning Parish Church, Fr Mark Heather spoke about the day's Gospel (Mark 10:35-45), in which Jesus reminded the apostles that in order to be noble, you first have to be humble. Jesus came to earth to give his life as a servant, to save the people, so is deserving of the ttle 'King'.

This week, for Harvest Festival (6 October), our famiies and children's worker Gary Pickett gave a talk (8 minutes) at the 9:30 Holy Communion at Steyning Parish Church. With the help of some of the choir and congregation, Gary found 10 words that could be made from the letters of 'Harvest' - all of which have a special meaning for Christianity and our Earth.
