Welcome to the official TH-cam channel for Philadelphia's Eastern Psych Rock trio, Qway.
Qway - Rattlesnake (Glass Beams) Cover at Johnny Brenda's 11/16/2024
Rattlesnake by Glass Beams is one of our favorites. Here we explore the tune with extending the end of the tune and transitioning to an original (not in the video) through a Saz solo by Max. This was filmed during our set at Johnny Brenda's on November 16th, 2024 opening for Octave Cat.

Hell yea
Awww man I wanted to come down for this gig so bad (I live in CT but frequent the Philly scene) but life got in the way. Here's hoping you land a slot at one of the summer festivals I usually attend (Beardfest, Karnival of the Arts, Threestival). You're def "on my radar" for future gigs. Great stuff - right up my alley !!!!! Thanks for posting so I can live it vicariously !!!!!
Thanks so much for rockin with us! Hopefully we’ll see you soon; either in Philly or up your way! If you’ve got any reccs for CT venues, let us know! - Max
@@qway235 I'd suggest getting a start hooking up w/similar bands that play up my way - Muscle Tough is from Philly & they are starting to tour up this way. Consider the Source is from NYC area (but John Ferrara the bassist is well known from the Philly scene) & they tour all the time up my way. They are both instrumental fusion jazz/jammy. Usually the venues find local bands to open but I've seen tours who brought their own acts. Bigger acts like Dopapod or Papadosio are possibilities too. Venues to get a start at would be: Roadrunner Cafe in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, & Stella Blue's in downtown New Haven. Both of them are very jamband friendly & they are more open to trying out new unproven acts. The downside is, they don't charge admission & the crowd is mainly local hipsters, so there are people there not paying attention to the music. There's a small group of music aficionado's tho, & I try to patronize both venues as much as possible. Young up & coming jam bands from outside my area (central/southern CT) who've played there include Dysfunktone, Hilltop, Baked Shrimp, John Ferrara's side project "Mono Means One", Glass Pony, & many others. There are "bigger" venues but you kinda need to build up a following 1st. I witnessed Dogs In A Pile grow an audience up this way starting out opening for other local bands. 2 good festivals up my way are Strange Creek & Wormtown, in western MA. They are more jamband / hippie oriented than the Philly area fests tho. If you happen to know John Ferrara or Jonathan Coleman (Muscle Tough bassist) talk to them. Pretty sure I recommended you guys to Beardfest when they had a post soliciting band suggestions from fans. They are into avant garde / experimental music so you guys fit their "oerve" perfectly. You may have played there in the past if I'm not mistaken.
@@qway235 I'll find you guys on Facebook & send you links. You Tube is not link-friendly.
@@sideshowbob thanks so much for all of this!! Jon and John are great friends of ours and a few of our past bands have played stella blues so we’re def looking to head that way soon! Beardfest are homies too but we haven’t played there yet; hopefully this will be the year!

sorry i dont listen to hip hop
I'm sorry you feel that way about Rush
The part at 1:44 is such a cool mood! Like exciting and relaxing. Jazzy with those keys!
Thank you so much! That keys melody driving the chorus is always a blast
Love the guitar effects in this one!! Awesome song!
Intro is a EHX pitchfork and the solo section starts with a bit crusher/ring mod delay with a delay time of like 4ms on the Strymon Timeline. Both super fun sounds!!
Max, why did you ever go to school for engineering?
Hahaha engineering by day, guitar by night… keeps things fresh
Awesome show! I've been impressed by every member of the band and I will say the keys are especially fresh with lots of variety.
Ben is a synthbeast hahah
dope!
Thanks!! Hope to catch you at a show!
Damn, this band fucks.
You boys have gone too far- this is much too disgustingly stellar... i mean holy moly
