Watch the film from last night. Preseason/SL vs. NBA season is completely different. I'm not rooting against him, but all of my concerns are still there and extremely valid.

How good of a spot is it really? Yes, you're getting a bucket getter; but he'll be targeted relentlessly in the playoffs. There's a path where he ends up being a Lou Williams-esque 6th man, but would you consider that fulfilling his potential?

I don't think anyone's calling him Curry, he's just a really good shooter but definitely doesn't have the handle to be on Curry's level, or showed any type of on-ball creation at the volume Curry did at Davidson

@@SidelineClubHoops Hard to tell if someone is going to be a great shooter when they only managed 8 FGA per game (many of which were wide open) while playing 29 minutes per game. That’s very limited volume to make that prediction. Plus according certain data collectors…Reed shot 33% to 35% from 3P range in high school with more volume. So what he did at Kentucky with less volume…could be an anomaly.

Defensive guards are back in style, Jrue and Dwhite proved that. Rob's defense is so bad it's hard to play him in my opinion.

@@SidelineClubHoops ofc some players play defense. U named two of the best defenders in the whole league and Boston got a great defensive team and scheme it ain’t just them. Two of the best players in the world Luka and jokic some of the worst defenders in history

@@007kazi First of all, Dillingham projects to be far worse on the defensive end than Luka or Jokic just because of his size. Secondly, Luka and Jokic stay on the floor because they are both the best scorers and passers in the entire league, and their teams' offenses are nothing without them. Dillingham is just a bucket. He is literally Bones Hyland, which is fine, just not really a winning player. The defense is something I can overlook here, especially since in the playoffs you kinda have to defend, and winning a title is what it's all about.

@@SidelineClubHoops and what’s making u say he not a winning player? I watched him win Kentucky multiple games last year. Did u think Kyrie Irving wasn’t a winning player in the 11 games u seen of him at Duke? EFFICIENT scoring is winning basketball.

@@007kazi Kyrie and Dillingham were completely different players coming out of college which is why he was a clear 1st overall selection. Kyrie projected to lead an offense much better and offered a higher ceiling of defensive chops. Obviously Dillingham can score, but you almost need a perfect situation for him to be a high impact player. This is why there's such an emphasis on two-way players in this age of basketball.

They have a lot of young guys coming down the pipeline for sure, with such a wide net I bet they'll be a force to be reckoned with even by the next olympics.

Salaun's clips have me so confused about what he might be. I don't think the dribble jumper game is something that NBA teams will allow because his percentages are so low and they're out of the flow of the offense. I haven't done much digging into Carrington to be honest.

Yeah Reed Sheppard at least projects to be a high level role player in my opinion with the 3&D stuff, despite the size.

@@SidelineClubHoops Ian tryna keep it going lmao but this kinda show me u didn’t really watch Kentucky. Yes reed is a good shot blocker for a guard and very handsy with steals and stuff be is a terrible defender as well easily gets blown by and terrible off ball

@@007kazi You're all over this video man, we can end it here but there's a reason why Dillingham is falling and Shep is rising in mocks and stuff. Everyone can have their own opinion, which is why the draft is fun in the first place. If Rob's your guy, that's great and I hope he succeeds.

I agree with most of this, but I think you might be overrating Edey's movement. He covers a lot of ground because he's so large, but I'm not sure about his speed or upside. You're right on with the Brunson VanVleet stuff though, and I'm worried Dillingham will never put on the weight he needs.

While Kentucky guards have historically found success in the league, I think we have to separate the player from the team. Dillingham's weaknesses on the film are too much to ignore just because he played for a Blue Blood. TyTy Washington and Tyler Ulis had similar concerns from Kentucky and obviously didn't fare well in the league.

@@SidelineClubHoopstyty was nowhere the scorer or shooter as Rob. Two totally different types of players. And ulis wasn’t good in college until after a couple years. Rob is 19 years old and him not starting was due to cal just not being smart lmao big Kentucky fan I watched every game he was the 2nd best player on the team every night

@@007kazi I made the comparison just to debunk the Kentucky guard claim the guy above me was making, but yeah obviously everyone comes into the league from different situations, nothing is ever a 1-to-1. At the end of the day, the defense is what scares me.

Makes a ton of sense for them to grab him, like I said in the video I'd be interested to see them maybe look to trade back and squeeze some extra value while still landing him.

@@SidelineClubHoops We’re talking about the best offensive player, who’s a true 3-level scorer, the most NBA ready…in a weak draft. Dalton may be more popular amongst the NBA than in the mock draft community. If he was 20 he would be a top 3 pick amongst the mock draft community. I don’t think Dalton will be there if the Rockets trade back.

@@slickrick8046 Well it depends on where they trade back to. I could see San Antonio passing on him at 4 for someone with more upside, same with Detroit at 5 and Charlotte at 6. No shame in taking someone you see as your guy earlier than mocks would say, but I think teams should always maximize value.

@@slickrick8046 I mean if we're talking sheer upside, I'd say other wings like Cody Williams, Matas Buzelis and maybe even Ron Holland have a higher best-case ceiling given their age and physical tools. I don't like Holland much as a prospect, but I think there are plenty of higher upside picks up the board that other GM's might look for. That's why in this video I'm saying that Knecht might not have the upside but he's a really safe bet, and it's why he's one of my favorite guys in this year's draft.

I'm honestly a little skeptical about Dillingham as a right-away player, but I could see Knecht helping the Pistons with their spacing issues right away. Sometimes too many raw prospects can make the development worse for everyone, so I definitely can see him going there and fitting in well. It really just depends on what Detroit is looking to do.

People are sleeping on Dalton because of his age. But, I don’t think that’s an issue because of the 2020 year where players were given an extra year of eligibility. Plus he’s a late bloomer body wise. He grew around 6 inches between his senior year in high school and in college.

I think especially with bigs there's a huge discrepancy between efficacy as a collegiate player and how they may translate in the pros. For example, Edey is one of the greatest college basketball players of this millennium and there's a high chance he fails as a pro. I haven't gotten too deep into the Ballo film, but since he's a non-shooter and doesn't move as well as other league centers. Recent draft comps of guys getting drafted late with similar archetype and not really working out: Oscar Tshiebwe, Trayce Jackson-Davis (worked out as a huge surprise), Luka Garza... It's mostly about defensive movement in my opinion.

@@SidelineClubHoops Risacher would play the 3 Salaun play the 4 with Jeremy Sochan coming in as a sixth man replacing Keldon's role. (If we traded Keldon. Jeremy Sochan was also a 6th man in college so nothing new to him

I'm a little worried about how Washington might develop him, but theoretically it makes a ton of sense.

Sarr by far has the biggest upside in this draft. Hawks better not messed this up. I feel like this guy is being pushed to cause some interest in this draft. When I watch Sarr and watch and listen to his interviews it provides me hope that Sarr might just slip through the cracks and become a franchise player, especially coming out of a supposed weak draft. I don't get that from any other player.

@@Dave-nm8uf I can totally get why you would say that. Like I said in the video the draft is never a sure bet and Sarr definitely gives an archetype we've seen a lot of success with in the NBA. But I feel like to be a "franchise guy", you need some on-ball creation chops that I personally don't see with him. Of course, he has a strong probability of becoming a high-impact defender.

I am torn btw Missi and Ware for my Pels. Ware gives you the spacing but Missi has that dog in him. So competitive and there are times Ware is just watching.
