    I’m having doubts if he is NBA ready. Like the whole 1and done idea might not be the best idea for him. Getting drafted super high can be a huge problem. How many high draft picks fizzle out. I think he needs to come back for another season and develop more. Then he can live up to being a high draft pick and has a higher likelihood of success in the NBA

    • @SidelineClubHoops
      @SidelineClubHoops 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Honestly I love this idea for him and hope he stays for a few reasons. First, pairing him up with Dybantsa should give him better reps with higher-level players, but also you're 100% right. Throwing him into the fire of the NBA may limit his role and how he could develop, since he is showing promise of on-ball creation. It could really help him figure the issues he does have out without the pressure of performing at the highest level and the potential for him to be held back by league coaching staffs. However, everyone wants to be one and done so you never know what he's ultimately going to decide for his future. But like I said, I think you're onto something for Egor.

    • @toyolla86
      @toyolla86 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your reply. We could build a crazy roster for next season. I’m crossing my fingers that the coaching staff has figured some things out. Also imagine Egor goes to the NBA next year. What are the odds he ends up in the G league making nothing until they decide he’s good enough to play in the nba. NIL money is much preferable

    • @SidelineClubHoops
      @SidelineClubHoops 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@toyolla86 Well the thing about being a high lottery pick means he gets a guaranteed contract, so he wouldn't be making a Gleauge salary even if he's playing for that team. However, I think he would be good enough to play in lower-level teams' rotations early on to be honest. My point about returning to college was more about tapping into star upside vs. starting out as a role player in the league and maybe not making it much further.

      I could agree that more time in college might help some prospects could use an extra year to develop, (with examples in this class potentially being Jeremiah Fears or Khaman Maluach), but I don't know how much it would benefit Kasparas. Since he already is pretty locked in as a top-5 pick, I think getting a guaranteed contract is in his best interest, and I think teams will give him the attention he needs to grow and succeed in the NBA.

    Edey and Clingan are exceptionally rare examples of highly productive bigs who are that tall, certainly as far as North American prospects go, and they move pretty well for their size. Sturdy bigs who are true 7-footers rarely go round 1 in the modern NBA, but those who do tend to be solid contributors like Rudy Gobert, Jakob Poeltl, and Walker Kessler. Edey and Clingan on paper have more upside than those guys, but we don't really know what that looks like in the modern NBA, though I think that guys who are as good as they are within said archetype do have a clear place in the league, and I think they're considerably less likely to bust than the likes of Dillingham and Holland. Drop coverage bigs have a much more secure place in the league as it is than non-shooting wings and severely undersized guards. (Shorter guards who do stick around like Brunson and VanVleet tend to be heavier/more muscular to better hold their ground)

    • @SidelineClubHoops

      I agree with most of this, but I think you might be overrating Edey's movement. He covers a lot of ground because he's so large, but I'm not sure about his speed or upside. I'm a little worried about how Washington might develop him, but theoretically it makes a ton of sense.

      @Dave-nm8uf I can totally get why you would say that. Like I said in the video the draft is never a sure bet and Sarr definitely gives an archetype we've seen a lot of success with in the NBA. But I feel like to be a "franchise guy", you need some on-ball creation chops that I personally don't see with him. Of course, he has a strong probability of becoming a high-impact defender.

      This guy looks much better than Alex Sarr to me. Footwork, handle, middie, nimble, athletic similar to AD but taller...

    Memphis should take him with their first round pick

      As a Griz fan, I’d like Holland with the #9 and then trade back into the first to get him as a mid first.

    B/R had him mocked to the Pels, so here I am. I like him, the Pels could use an athletic big, he can come in for JV and eventually start.

      I am torn btw Missi and Ware for my Pels. Ware gives you the spacing but Missi has that dog in him. So competitive and there are times Ware is just watching.
