I wrote the core of this song a long time ago, but it never felt quite finished, so here it is with a final verse to round it out.

I went to my cabin this weekend fully expecting to finish the lyrics for a different song. That went nowhere. So, late at night, I sat down in front of the wood stove and cranked out this song instead.

On Monday, I was just strumming around on the guitar, and I sang out, "I can see my breath as I tie my shoes. Only joined the team because of you." Then I stopped and thought, "OK, what's this story?" A week later, I have an answer. This goes out to all of you who ever joined a club or a sports team because you thought it might get you closer to the person you desired at the time.

I started writing this a couple weeks ago, but I got stuck and set it aside. Yesterday, I found the sheet of paper I had been writing on wrinkled up underneath my piano, so I thought I'd try to rescue it. I don't know if it's turned out the way I hoped, but at least it kind of sounds like a Devotchka song.

I dashed this song off in one evening a while ago, but never took the time to fine tune it. Here it is with the little polish I can provide.

Since it's Halloween times, here's a revamped version of a song from that Cryptids album I'll probably be working on forever.

This is an older song, but I completely redid the chord structure and updated some lyrics. You might consider it a complimentary story to the song I did a a few weeks ago, "The Last Harvest Queen of the Fall Festival". It's about kids in a small town driving around on a summer night trying to hook up, but, again, it's about more than that.
