    I am originally from the Caribbean. How did they do it? It's a long story that we must put put in practise. Problems: .Wanting to go too fast with short cuts. .Poor priorities such expencive cars without consider owning a home. .Getting so big headed and forgetting the people, such as clients, pricing, services that keeps our business going. .Remember the history that Indians(but they lost much of their homeland) chose education while we took the so called freedom. **We must learn to bargain with these migrants in our lands.They should not be living in our country without putting something on the table in return. Paying taxes is not enough. Why recruit from.the homeland that they have left centuries ago instead of training some of the locals nationals. All is not lost, work hard towards and we will rise. Remember S.Africs and others we do not have to loose our homeland snd minerals yo do it. Send the cheecky ones packing and own your homeland. Ee do not have put up with ....

    I think you raise an important point. I also think you got it right until you started comparing CEOs (Indians) to professionals who are non CEOs. This made me laugh, really. The CEOs you spoke about were at some points also professionals before they rose to CEOs. Yes some became CEOs by starting something from scratch, but of course they're smallest minorities, most business don't turn big, even in Africa. You don't become CEOs because you run a business, there is no such guarantee. Meanwhile, you mention education so broadly. A better metric would be to compare specificities, i.e. % of Indians in/with STEM education vs Africans. % of Africans in/with finance education vs Indians. I see you measure outcomes by financials, so you would need to check whether those Africans with an education, i.e. BSc or higher, have education in fields that more likely lead to greater financials. If I would guess, I would guess that the number is much lower than the Indian part. Go look at the courses these Indians are studying, they literally dominate tech, dominate finance, dominate many of the areas that eventually lead to wealth. Meanwhile, You say you need a name? Research Bayo Ogunlesi. Of course, he too was a "300K salary person" until he rose through the ranks, became big, and then became a billionaire?. Calendly guy too, was pleasantly surprised when I learned about him. The question we should be asking is not to be comparing people at the earlier parts of their career to CEOs. Instead, we should be asking ourselves how many Africans are IN THE PIPELINE to becoming those big things you have just highlighted DOWN THE ROAD. That is a more better metric than comparing people earning 300K to CEOs, many of whom rose through the ranks. With that said, I find the topic you have raised very important and thank you for raising it.

      Thanks for your rich insights. It certainly takes the conversation further. I really liked your point on India's emphasis on STEM education vs Africa. My goal is to open up these conversations so that the next generation of Africans can have a roadmap to aspire to bigger & greater things in their lives, careers and businesses. I will do a followup video to highlight some of the excellent ideas shared so far

    Hi the Indian education system is different because most of the people are going to study high education and science and technology has uplifted India as a nation which is a problem in Africa our educational system is still colonial education which is unfit for purpose 3:44

    Indians do well wherever they go. They don't suffer from low self esteem and they work together. Africans and African Americans don't pull each other up. Maybe because most of them are not Christians so there mentality is very different.

    Those numbers can be deceiving. You have go back to the hidden American history(white supremacy, Jim crow, etc) for these assertions to make sense. Most white corporations dont like hiring black people of any kind. Also you have to consider the pipeline to these prestigious high tech jobs. For example many graduate engineering schools recruit most their students from Asia. The enginering schools all over the US these days are led mostly by Indian or Asian deans(higher Caste only). Generally some Indians consider themselves to be "white". They take full advantage of their access and connections. Ever wondered why most Indians in the US come from one state in India(Gujarat)?

    So my observation from why Indians are able to this miracle you’re describing is the fact that they work together as a group. I have lived in Brampton, Ontario Canada and then moved to Calgary Ontario North East, both that have a more than 95 percent population is that they tend to just hire their own. I’ve been In Canada for almost 30 years and some most of the work places I’ve worked that started with most Caucasians and all of a sudden if an Indian person get a top position then the next thing you know most of the workers will be Indian. They feel more comfortable to speak their native language and they feel more home with their own. Not that other groups don’t do the same but theirs is more pronounced. And if you’re black they don’t regard you at all. This is what I have realized about them.

    Why do you people like to compare yourself to others and do not understand the spiritual dilemma the continent and it people are in with the Most Highest Power/God of the bantus; for what the people of the God has done and what was done to the bantus by the peoples of Africa and Europe?

  • @jabaltariq4606
    @jabaltariq4606 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Lets look at some numbers. Let us assume that the top 1% of talent from "Africa" and top 1% from India are immigrants. India has about 1.3 billion people. That means 13 million Inians. Africa is a continent and it has less than 1.3 billion people. But let us focus on say, so called sub-Sahara Africa. We are looking at about 600 million people roughly. That means the top 1% is about 6-million. That is less than half of the Indian 1%. Now comes the fun part. Wealthy Indians buy American institutions. Wealthy Africans go on shopping sprees in UK and France. Indian business people donate large sums of money to US business schools. In addition, Indian universities spend a lot of effort to turn out engineers and STEM graduates. African universities spend a lot of time dealing with economic development!! Most of the large US Corporations have subsidiaries in India and almost none in Africa. As a result, they draw on their Indian talent pool for managers. Also, in terms of geopolitics the US wants to position India against China. As a result, they are promoting the top 1% Indians in America so that India will pivot to the US and away from an alliance with China. Perhaps a more useful comparison is between the Indian diaspora in Africa versus the Africans in Africa. Why are the wealthiest people in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa disproportionally Indian business people--especially owning business that supply food to Africans!, and why are the comparatively few wealthy Black Africans disproportionately politicians, former politicians or children of politicians'? Let us start there, and then move abroad.

    Another thing is, when you're registering a company they require that you bring 2 directors. Is that what you call partnership or shareholders?

    • @diasporachangemakers
      @diasporachangemakers 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting question - Company registration requirements can result in a partnership, where each partner holds shares in the business. I will not rely on the statutory company registration documents as the ultimate partnership agreement between the directors or shareholders since it is a standardized document and will not apply to all situations. What I will do will be to come up with a separate shareholder agreement that includes all the various elements of a true partnership including "Vesting Clause". This way at the end of every year you can file an amendment of the shareholder percentages with the registrar general. I hope this answers your question
