This channel is a culmination of fabrication projects that I do in my personal garage. I am self taught and have picked up some tips from very talented fabricators over the years. This is my attempt to share some knowledge and have fun at the same time.
Off-road Realtor - Desert Race Truck Featured In Barstow, Ca
Reliving my old days from my garage built race truck. A great friend of mine came across this old, long lost video and now it gets to relieve in it's glory! Might consider tracking this truck down just to own it once again! This video was taking in Barstow, Ca after a desert race. We camped near Slash X Cafe. Long travel suspension in the front with Deaver leaf springs in the rear. Fully caged with 2.5" coilover and bypass King Shocks in the front and triple bypass 3" King shocks in the rear.

I made one these bumpers for 2012 Silverado and it left my intake vent in my passenger side fender well exposed and ended up sucking in water through it in heavy rain. Any idea on how to cover this vent without restricting too much airflow?
Sucks to hear dude! Hopefully you didn't hydrolock the motor. I did that on one of my old race trucks messing around at Pismo beach. Most guys will plate in the fender with sheet metal to keep the water out. I've seen some people reroute the intake inside is the truck but would only do that on a race truck application
What size plate do you use as caps for the frame hole? Great job. 👍👍
Usually 1/8" is adequate. I've done 3/16" at times. 1/8" is almost what I use every time. It's the same thickness as the frame usually
Hey dude I love the finished product, honestly the most satisfying part was the plasma cutter ... lowkey jealous of it lol But ah I was curious if you would be willing to share the Measurement of the steel and bends and what size steel and tubing you used.
Hey Jeremy. Thanks for watching the video. I don't have the measurements kept on hand unfortunately. Most of my bumpers are one off so it's not typical that I have the same measurements every time. Depends on what the customer is looking for. I forgot what size I did this one out of. Smallest I would do is 1.75" x .120 wall tubing. I've started doing all of them out of 2" now though. I think it looks better. Especially on a full size. I always do 2" on full size. Sometimes midsized trucks would be 1.75". Ive moved away from that now

Yeah. These s10s don't have a huge aftermarket following. It's not entirely easy to make good looking bolt on bumpers. Most end up being custom

I had a no name cnc plasma table. The plasma cutter itself is the hypertherm 45xp. Great machine.

What thickness or gauge is the skid plate? Looking good man great job
Its 1/8" 5052 aluminum. If this was going on a race truck or something you were gonna be bashing offroad, I would probably go thicker for sure.
What size die is that
I believe I used 1.75 for the tubing. I always buy my dies with the smallest center line radius so my 1.75" die has a CLR of 4.5"

Most of the tubing was 2" x .120 wall. for the outer skid plate tubes, I used 1.75 because I had to clearance part of the core support to allow the tube to hit the main bumper. Skid plate is 1/8' 5052 aluminum. Fine for the street. If racing, I would go thicker to 3/16".

He had an aftermarket camera I believe so no, it didnt. Plus you can move anything around to make it work. Nothing is impossible!

Your bandsaw is made in Taiwan, Taiwan made tools are far better than China. It is what it is. Just like tools from Japan and the USA. Can't change my mind.

depends on how careful you are. Either overspray like a MFer haha or tape everything off.
