The Art of Selling When You’re the Founder | Predictable Revenue Podcast
When should founders stop selling?
If your business hasn’t hit $1 million in revenue yet. The answer is simple: you shouldn’t.
No one understands your customers, product, and market better than you.
Staying in the trenches during these early stages isn’t just helpful. It’s necessary.
But that doesn’t mean doing everything.
Delegating low-value tasks and hiring for client delivery early lets you focus on what drives growth: strategy, team building, and closing deals.

    lol good advice, get those stupid engineers in line and hire more management and sales, maybe institute some more meetings too to make sure that holy "alignment" doesn't go a tiny bit astray because people might actually ship products and that is not what it is all about. its about the promises. and you can never deliver bad products if you never deliver. real big brain moves here. just go ahead and outsource all the engineers and blossom into your real role of selling promises.

    • @PredictableRevenue
      @PredictableRevenue หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here’s the thing: alignment isn’t about stopping engineers from building. It’s about making sure what’s built actually solves problems worth solving. Let's maybe give the full episode a listen? You might find there’s more nuance than meets the sarcasm. 😉

    Sounds like every tech company out there. staff engineers and architects get something on the new and shiny they were playing with out into prod and teams are still dealing with their decisions years down the line even after they left the company.

    • @PredictableRevenue
      @PredictableRevenue หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right? It's the classic 'let's play with the shiny new thing and worry about the fallout later' tech trope. But hey, innovation does come with a side of chaos. And sometimes, legacy code that feels like an escape room challenge for the next team.

      Thanks for letting us know! TH-cam messed up that last part. But what Kellen said was: "I'm gonna greatly expand the amount of people I can talk to which will also help me stress. Test that product market fit. Because if I can talk to 5 times as many people. And all of a sudden that close ratio goes away. Now I'm going like, Wait a minute. Maybe I don't really have that fit. I thought I had, or maybe I validate. Oh, I do. And I just need to fill that top of funnel because it will, just, you know, knock them down just the same."
