Im so glad to find you and your amazing video, the whole vibe u share with us is the same vibe i wana be i the new life that i’m bullding recently. My first true day as a barman is firday, wish my luck my g ! A big ty for you from south of france 🏴☠️
Brother thank you so much!! It makes me glad to read messages like these! You'll kill it in your first bar job.
started working at a bar a year ago, never know much about bartering, but everything can be learnt with enough practice and time, now i am full on barman working in a czech bar, working around 30hours a WEEKEND, sure, i dont have much of a time to sleep but, if yall are willing to take the same way, enjoy your time behind the bar guys (btw i am not sure if you should call it a bartending class, would probably call it like bartender practice or sum, cuz drinks are just recepees, but bartender is the one that makes them good, and the bar popular, not sure if its just my view of the thing or not) wish yall a great time
Absolutely right! thanks for sharing. Anyone can make drinks, but its the bartenders that make guests enjoy them!
im 16 and been wanting to be a bartender for two years. sure, i got a ways to go. but people like you are a big inspiration to me. its refreshing not being called a fool for being passionate about bartending. much love man, maybe ill see you in NY one day if i end up there
I have left 4 jobs coz I dnt enjoy working there. There is no vibe at all. Now m working again but I dnt enjoy it. I guess m gonna give my resignation and become a bar tender. Bartender life is great. Meeting new people every day n experiencing new things, enjoying the work at the same time… we r earning.👍 That’s life man.
It never hurts to try right? If you're not enjoying what you are doing, bring your talent elsewhere and yes its true. We meet a lot of people and most of the time, you will forget their names. ^^
I’ve been wanting to go to bartending school. But what holds me back is speed and multitasking. I still try. Even if they’re my weakness, can I still do it? People think it’s not respectable schooling to study for, but not for me.
I'd say try it. Worst thing that can happen is you tried and learned something new
Hii i am frome india
Hi I'm from New york
wow!
One of the hardest things about bartending is figuring if your customer is drunk or just an idiot
That's hilarious! It's true D;
Keep producing man yours stuffs great!!! Definitely following man!
Thanks man!
as a bartender i really enjoy videos from others passionate bartender ! that's dope
Never thought of this until a customer told me its something i should look into, looks very doable and similar to fast food
Dunno if this is the right thing for me im taking training but its only 4 days and the drinks we making well...the recipes ain't easy to remember, i got 0 expeirence and when i imagine myself working at a bad im getting cold feet as to the amount of pressure such as remembering recipies and the drinks itself Im kinda doubting myself but maybe if i do gain a bit expeirence then my perspective might change Im only doing bartender since im curious about it and wondering if its something i can like but no matter how much i think about it i prefer computers or video editing
Why not do both? If bartending is your curiosity, you can find a spot that lets you only work a day or two so it's not a big commitment. Plus, if you don't like it after a few weeks, then you can always quit. But I would say, once you get the hang of it, making drinks and talking to your regulars is really fun!
I want to hear your story about how you started that job and your beginnings in the first bar where you were hired, e.g., from deciding to become bartender to the first couple of months you working there: challenges, from where you learned, etc..
you should do shorts of bartending drinks
not a bad idea!
How did you end up landing your first bartending job?
honestly, I just printed out 20 resumes and walked down 6th avenue handing them out.
How realistic or difficult is it for someone under the age of 21 to work as a bartender in the city?
In NYC? Let's say.. I've met many people who worked at bars being under 21
New but learning fast. Huge help, thanks!
Love your realness. Service industry definitely teaches u to be a compassionate person. That really shines thru you!
Thank you Julia!
I’m a bartender and thinking about getting back to it!! Been doing it since ‘09 🍸
As a bartender myself, I can confidently say that it usually is beneficial for men to build themselves. But for women, it usually ruins them. It might sounds harsh but that's been my experience.
I agree. Bartending showers the girls with compliments and attracts a lot of unwanted attention but hey..
do you think bartending course is worth it for someone who has 0 experience? i think it cost around 250$
For $250, I'll say it is worth. I paid more than that in NYC. Only if you have interest in it!
I studied international gastronomy and am going to the US with in the next 7 months or so, just need to finish working at this restaurant as a cook so I can get my degree bc I have to have labor hours in the kitchen to be able to graduate, and I honestly hate the kitchen, I had a couple classes of bartending, mostly the basics and the history, and I would like to get a bartender job in the US mainly because of the money and bc of the talking environment, I’m very social and love meeting ppl, but also I love licour and the air conditioning, bc I get really sweaty working in the heat of the kitchen, which I hate, but what worries me is if bartending is the same amount of stress as I am experiencing right now at the kitchen, everything in bartending is a green flag for me but that one thing worries me.
where can u advice someone to learn the proffesional course
am from kenya thanks so much av learned alot
As a collage student I'll be taking a Bartender class so I can have a job on the weekends! Really excited to learn all this things
Oh, I only wanna work two days a week. I know that’s gonna be a lot on my body and I already am going to be working full-time in the morning.
Been in training for my first bartending job at a new place opening next week. I find your videos and outlook to be encouraging and relatable. And I'm stoked to start! I also highly recommend How to Know a Person by David Brooks for more on human connection. Will definitely stop by for a drink on my next NY trip.
Spot on my guy, i am a bartender in Dubai never attended bartending school😊, staterd as runner then worked my way up, its nerve wracking, you learn new things about alcohol everyday, i learnt about many cocktails apon receiving order, google my guy. Awesome video right there make more mate, God bless . NB people will always have opinions 😅 positive/negative even if something is good👌
Thank you so much ^^ still learning about alcohol yup
That's good mate cheers
I am a bar back/bartender at a small town bar in East Texas during the weekend. Weekends at this bar are insane. I just got my TABC two weeks ago and I’m pretty new to making drinks, but they get easier to make the more I make them. I feel like I mix well with the patrons but it is common to not get tipped at this bar, so we don’t split tips. If they did, they would only get about $150 for each night. The most I’ve got in one weekend was $160 because I do not get to serve as many people since my main job is being the bar back. It’s a tough crowd to serve but I absolutely love it.
Iam from nepal, i do bartending and i like to do work with you 🫱🏻🫲🏽
You totally hit the nail on the head whenever you mention just the shoe opportunity of being in a position like that. I was actually supposed to be a barista at a very unique café in Santa Monica California and I still regret it every day because I just feel like a coffee shop is definitely my vibe. I love coffee, but I think you can make pretty good money as well maybe even just as much as a bartenderat least out there you can not. You have so many Instagram influencers are coming through every day or business executives. Everybody loves coffee and I just couldn’t imagine the opportunity that would come being in that position if you were likable. I just got hired on as a bartender at a local Italian restaurant so I don’t think it’s going to be a lot of cocktails, but mostly pouring wine, however, I do want to get my foot in the door as a bartender. Even though I’m not a huge fan of super late nights, I feel like I’m floundering at 35 years old. I have a masters degree but I don’t really like my field of communications and I haven’t made much money. But I know I like people and I like being in sociable environments so I always felt drawn to either being a bartender, or something else that allows me to make decent money, but also provide experience
Hey Dan, thanks for sharing with us. Definitely go where fits your vibe! Whether it be coffee or the bar. I do see a lotta influencers and execs in our bar and it's interesting just people watching.
You only work on the holidays if that bar is open on those holidays. Some bars open 12/365, but not all.
Yep! Most bars open everyday! The new guys are definitely working the holidays though.
$300-$400…in NYC? You can expect a lot more if you’re any good.
That is true. But not everyone is good.
I am sure where you work is a huge factor I want to get into bartending but personally I would only want to do it at certain places
What's the name of the song at 0:50?
Me to
This video sucks
bartender from maryland, great video 👍 only thing i would add is when youre starting out, ALWAYS CHECK IDS !!!
Oh yep. Definitely! unless they have a full grown beard x)
Let’s get it! 🎉
Even at a buisness id not want to be found with all of those. Id dispose of them. Would you like someone to keep your credit card that you lost? I get theyre probably all cancelled pretty quickly but eh... no for me.
Would be good for you if they had money tho
95 trillion dollar charge on the credit card 💀
Damn I’m a 1st gen American & as a barback I’m always willing to improve myself for the good. I also work in New York & learning everything from the tools to the bottle labels Like a Sponge so I can keep it memorized
Whistling and snapping fingers? Don’t try that in the South.
Yeah, it's uncalled for everywhere.
Very encouraging. I like your energy man.
Thank you so much. This encourages me ^^
Hi, I'm a girl studying hospitality and I want to be a bartender as well. I'm the only one in my class who would like to study bartending and I kind of felt idk different, not like the others. Your videos are a part of the motivation for me to keep on believing that I can do it and that I'm just unique. I would like more of it if you don't mind. I love how you explain and show the reality.
off the tap baby
i am
I’m looking to become a bartender. I’m 19 and it’s legal where I’m at to serve but the only thing in kinda nervous about is just mixing the drinks. How / where do I start learning how to mix and what to mix together, or is it something you pick up at a job.
hey i really want to work in your bartender for minimum wage. i really like to listen to peoples stories. but i live in india
Maybe there are bars that are in need of bartenders over at India as well :)
I am currently training as a bartender and each day I find the job interesting and little by little I am getting used to it and I gained confidence on talking to customers aswell.
I love it! You'll be surprised by all of the stories people tell you :D
