There are a more than a few versions of this wonderful composition on you tube and played at speeds from the terrifyingly fast (Cameron Carpenter, Diana Bish etc) to the slightly less hasty and the interpretations, where one can relax and really enjoy the thrilling counterpoint and irresistible forward momentum of this work. This is a throughly enjoyable performance on an organ, which has clarity and beauty of tone by a skilful musician.
used to sneak into the organ hall at midnight on campus and play buxtehude, bach in the pitch black with just the keyboard illuminated. great performance.
