Definitely using your amazing patterns aswell and trying to make it as awesome as yours ! Also because your mechanism is so well thought through I’m pretty confident that this is one of the best solutions for scissor-like-weapons !!! Getting all the supplies today 💖hoping to have Ellen ready in the beginning of December 🌈! Will definitely tag you then ! People really underestimate how long it takes to make patterns and tutorials so thank you ! This safes me so much 💖

@@kii_Wai Oh haha! Well that's even better! Good luck building it then🙂 The mechanism is not that special though 😆. but its cheap and easy to make, which is always a good thing. And very true. Making videos makes the whole process of making the cosplay take so much longer, still trying to find a better way to do everything, but it's pretty hard.

will printing the template on a4 be the correct sizing for the knife? or does it need to be a specific size?

@@lillianafox The template is made for A4 (and as close to the original size as I could make it), but depending on your hand size you might want to scale it a little bit. What I sometimes do is just print a few. 100% 120% and 140% if I'm not sure. Have fun crafting! 😄

Hi! Yes, I can definitely relate to the headache. TBH I'm still not completely satisfied with my end result, but I think it's the closest you can get to the game version. Its not detachable, I made it separate and sewed the completed version onto the actual sleeve of the jacket. I have some sort of a pattern, but made so many alterations along the way. if you DM us on instagram, I can send you some pictures of my starting pattern and some close ups. Just hang in there, keep making adjustments until you're satisfied. Rome wasn't build in a day and this sleeve isn't either. But if you get it to work, it's really worth all the effort, headaches and frustration. Promise!☺

Hi! Do you mean the tools I used? Like box cutter, dremel and heatgun. I guess I should make a video about the essential tools for making cosplay some time. The materials are explained in the video.

@@zekielung4103 Yeah, might be true. But it's also hard to always please everyone. And after you watched a few video's you will notice I always use the same stuff in general. That said we plan to improve with every video, so don't expect this to be the final iteration of how our videos will look in the future.

Hi there and thank you! The gun is 120 cm long, the template should be scaled that way already. If you have trouble printing it, using poster settings in Adobe Acrobat is the easiest. It will split the file up by itself that way. Hope this helps and have fun building your cosplay!

Thanks for the comment! But I'm sorry I don't have a detailed list of it. It's what the video is for and together with the template you can kind of estimate how much foam you would need. When I'm making my props I just start and figure everything out as I work on it, so I always got 2, 5 and 10mm thickness EVA foam and all the different dowel sizes.

@ZenshinCosplay honestly it may be unitentional but just knowing to have a good amount of each of those foams is helpful, then i can focus on writing down the pipes and stuff

I kinda scaled it based on the height of the character (Ellen Joe is 1.61 m), but I myself am 1.90 m and the size feels fine for me as well. Making it too long would be annoying I think. Have fun making it!

I don't plan on rebuilding this, but I want to make Samus Varia suit from Metroid sometime. Some of the armor is surprisingly similar. The only problem is finding time to work on stuff. There's just too much I want to make.

A dremel is my favorite tool to use for making cosplay, this makes everything go to the next level once you know how to use it well. I can't imagine working without it. It must have been a struggle!

@@ZenshinCosplay Yep it's so hard without it, I had to just manually knife all foams and then stacked them and then sculpt them with a knife>< My Gepard's case turned out great tho and was love by famous cosers figure here in our country<3 Planning to buy a dremel soon once I have the budget from my own allowance HAHHAHA
