Felt like the 1 character was a square peg pushed desperately into a circle hole to get it to work. Why wouldn’t Eleven mention the original gate was caused by Henry. They never explained how the Russian particle laser turned an equally spacial gate to the upside down into a wormhole (jump to locations instead of biking to get there). The Mind flayer looks nothing like a black widow spider, they just got lucky and wrote that in. I don’t think they planned ahead on that one even though they claim they did. The gay stuff was unnecessary. Wish filmmakers would just entertain instead of appointing themselves virtue signaling superhero’s, saving society from the evils of bigotry.
Yea there are some plot holes, since like you said they didn't have it all planned out since season 1. Will was supposed to be gay since season 1 (it was in the original pitch) and looking back it makes sense, + I feel like its a nice way to be more inclusive.
