Testing the Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pattern in watsonx.ai
In this video, I'll explore another option for building retrieval augmented generation (RAG) applications using the IBM watsonx.ai service. I'll show how the new chat feature of IBM watsonx.ai allows uploading documents like PDFs which then get vectorized so you can run queries against that data. This is a powerful technique for grounding a large-language-model (LLM) on the specifics of your content. Once tested in the IBM watsonx.ai prompt lab, I'll show how to save the project as a Jupyter Notebook which can be edited and run within the IBM watsonx.ai tooling. Additionally, I'll show how to save a prompt session as a prompt template which can be parameterized and deployed to IBM Watson Machine Learning where you can then invoke the customized model as an API that can be embedded in whatever application you want.

Can we integrate this prompt model into Watsonx assistant if yes do a video how to integrate this prompt via API or any other ways possible
Yes, watsonx Assistant has a watsonx.ai extension you can enable and then pass in the parameters needed to get watsonx.ai to generate/classify/extract/etc. as needed. I usually experiment in watsonx.ai with prompt engineering and then just copy the prompts into watsonx Assistant once I get a prompt that does what I want. Here's how I did that for generating a custom pizza from watsonx Assistant (by calling watsonx.ai): th-cam.com/video/eLktIbq08vM/w-d-xo.html

Hello Bill Is thre more documentaion about install IBM Process Automation Manager Open Edition v8 with operator. Such as databse setting etc..
I would recommend that the target be placed higher in the air. If you collimate at too low of an angle, if there is play between the mirror carrier and the primary baffle, when you point the telescope higher in the sky, the mirror can shift an this will through the collimation off.
I like the Hotech but I still had to defocus a star to get collimation perfect. I'm sure it's something I'm not doing right though... pretty sure I need to adjust the corrector plate. (EdgeHD 9.25)
Yeah I struggled to collimate at night using defocused Polaris and wasted hours fiddling with the collimation screws on the secondary mirror during peak observing/photoing times, so I decided to invest in the Hotech so I could collimate during the day. After hours fiddling with the Hotech, I discovered my corrector plate was out of alignment and made collimating difficult. Once I got my corrector plate centered, then fine adjusting the secondary mirror was easier. I checked against defocused Polaris (see end of the video) once collimated with the Hotech and it looked more centered then I could do at night, so I'm happy with the Hotech -- even though it's expensive. Clear skies! 🌠
@@billgriffith8123 Thanks Bill! Yes, I'm glad I have the Hotech.
Frankly, Bill, you missed the mark on this one. I expected this to be Sales centric, but what I got was a generic description of Scrum

is there any way to add a lib or @JsonProperty dependency?
Hi Bill, Have you still got the links of the official tutorial you have used in the video? I searched for it and I got something completely different. I did find one thing very interesting and that is they give 25GB free storage every month and this means the static websites will incur no costs at all. I don't know about traffic costs. For a small website that has static info for reference only (e.g. bookmarks of important links) then the cost would be minimal ( in pennies rather that whole pound). I have created a free account and now I will upload some basic web pages and some bootstrap files and wait for a month, or two to see the cost of using this. Azure has similar offerings so it's worth exploring as well. Thanks for the video and hope you'll continue creating more videos like this one. I like to have short videos that I can watch a couple of times to get the main points. Links to the official docs or your blog would be very useful in this respect. Kind regards.
Thank You! I just changed positions and i'm starting to use this program and it's been kind of hard for me to use it but your video is a great example.
Thank you. I have created object storage and a bucket and I can browse to a page in it. The thing I cannot do is to configure a custom domain name for it. I have done much searching and all I find are instructions that seem to require Cloud Internet Services (CIS) and as best as I can see CIS is not cheap.
Hi Sam. I haven’t tried this, but you might try IBM’s DNS service: www.ibm.com/cloud/dns. There may be free DNS services as well that will allow you to point your custom domain name (e.g. www.billgriffith.com) to the IBM COS hostname URL where your bucket resides. I don’t recall if this is a DNS CNAME record or an DNS Alias record, but I’d expect lots of content on the Internet that shows how you can point your custom domain name to another DNS name. Hope this helps.
@@billgriffith8123 There is not lots of content on the Internet that shows how you can point your custom domain name to another DNS name. I have done many searches many times. The link you provide seems to say that DNS Services are for VPC Private Networks but there is a link to an "Accelerate delivery of static files using a CDN" tutorial. I have been there and done that and I have been unable to get it to work; the part about configuring a domain. There is a domain validation part that is very confusing.
Most of the articles I found seem to use IBM Cloud Internet Services and as best as I can tell that is expensive.
Hi Sam, I haven’t configured IBM’s DNS service, but there are many DNS services on the Internet and they all work essentially the same: map URLs to IPs (A records) and URLs to another URL (CNAME records). Here are 3 youTube videos that might help: (1) th-cam.com/video/cQ0anQfsSOw/w-d-xo.html (2) th-cam.com/video/QcNBLSSn8Vg/w-d-xo.html (3) th-cam.com/video/ZXCQwdVgDno/w-d-xo.html.

Hi Bill let me ask you a question. Is it possible to install the specific version of OCP 3.11, for example there is a latest release available 3.11.404. I will try to install using the RPMS not Container + Atomic Host. But I dont know if I set openshift_release=3.11 into inventory file will enough to install the last release 3.11.404. Do you know ? Or to install this version 3.11.404 additional steps will required. Like Install the version 3.11 and upgrade to 3.11.404. Its a fresh install !
Jesus! I've never listened to a bloke who seems so bored of the whole thing.. perhaps you need a holiday or career change - was it a Friday late night at home with the kids screaming? Nope, I did not think much of the demo. Seems you created a 'basic' layout quickly but then had to spend a shed-load of time sorting it out so it made sense. Would I buy IBM Blueworks based on this demo.... probably not.
Thank you very much for the video. Nice and unterstandable example aswell.
I have questions
Hey Bill. This video is great! I have been using nodemcu chips to expand my lightshow over the years because of you, so thanks! One thing I've been curious about is how you went about creating the outline for the lights? Is that a metal structure you made?
Thanks Joshua. Yeah the little esp8266 chip is great. I bought the wire frame. I can’t remember from whom now, but maybe www.holidaycoro.com/default.asp - I’ve bought some of there sequences that I customize. My original Halloween face was made by drilling holes in a 4’x4’ sheet of plywood and punching lights into the holes, but that wasn’t very attractive during the day, so I googled wire holiday frames and think I got the 4’x4’ wire frame for ~$200. I’m sure you could weld something together, but the cost wasn’t bad to buy it, so I did. Once I got the wire outline, I zip tied my LEDs around the frame. In some cases, I cut the LED strand to fit, but you could just skip bulbs in your sequence instead with xLights. I used a custom object and numbered all the LEDs and drove the light strand using my little nodeMCU box as in the video. Happy holidays.
@@billgriffith8123 Great to know 😊 Thanks again for all the info and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Bill, I have to say this tutorial was very informative. However, there is always a however {lol}, I had a very difficult time with your video. First, you should not ever have the command line at the bottom of the screen. Every time you hit pause the youtube controls completely obscure what you are typing. It was very difficult to capture the commands so that I could understand then. Second, the font size! Oh the font size! It is barely ledge-able and should be a lot larger for easy of reading. Third, the pacing. It was very brisk. Which caused me to pause a lot. This in conjunction with my first two comments made for a very long afternoon trying to follow your tutorial and reproduce a cluster. All in all it was a wealth of material, I just wish it was a little slower, a little larger, a little higher up on the screen, and maybe a listing of the commands and edits in the notes or a downloadable doc. So enough of the complaining. I look forward to watching other tutorials you produce in the future and thanks for putting this together.
thanks a trillion
Could you make a new version of it?
I have created a bot in automation anywhere. I just want to upload it on IBM Cloud. Can you help me with this?
Good video. You inspired me to buy some rechargeable batteries. Then I have done the math. You are wrong mate. 1. two batteries can be connected in either "series" or in "parallel". 1a. "series" is when we connect the battery poles in a positive to negative orientation. 1a. when in series we add the voltage and average the amps 1b. "parallel" is when we connect the battery poles in a positive to positive and negative to negative orientation. 1b. when in parallel we add the amperage and average the volts eg. when taking two 6 volt, 100 amp hour batteries in series, it becomes 100 amps at 12 volts. When in parallel, it becomes 200 amps at 6 volts. In your case 4 batteries average is: (4x 5000 mah)/4= 5000 mah. Means 5,000 mAh @ 3.7V = 18.5 watt-hours / 12V = 1.5Ah. Battery Life = Ampere Hours / Current ( Ampere) My Xiegu G90 currend draw is 4A TX. Means 1.5 Ah/4 = 0.375 h = 22 minutes. For qrp like FT-817 the average current is 2A. Means 1.5 Ah/2 = 0.75 h = 22 minutes.
Thanks for the feedback. My math above used parallel calculation but I have the batteries in series. So it should be 5000mAh @ 14.8V (i.e. 3.7V*4) which equals 74 watt-hours, so if I draw from that power at 12V instead of 14.8V, then that comes out to 6.17 Ah?
Thank you for your video. I would like to answer a question whether Watson understands other languages like French for example or just English?
