Hi QS, great video... BTW any chance for you to share your itinerary, planning and budget. I am very keen to try this trail. Is it possible you email me privately? Thanks in advance.
@@khlkh2367 hi do check out my last video of the series, where I share the 3d2n itinerary of where I went! Feel free to pm me
@hikingwithqs hi QS , you meant at the description? If yes , let me check it out in a while . Will PM you for more info if needed. Thanks and really appreciate your reply.
@@khlkh2367 I'm happy to answer your questions in the comments if you are okay!
@hikingwithqs hi qs , do you engage any agent for luggage transfer and transport ? You fly into which city from your home country I assumed is Singapore. If you engaged agent for arrangement could you share tje info . Each inn you stayed along the trail how much per nite and could you share the names . Thanks
@khlkh2367 I didn't use any agent. Day zero was at Onn Nakatsugawa, booked through booking dot com. Then Magome Chaya and Kiso Mikawaya for day 1 and 2, all through the same platform, it's quite easy and fuss free. I left my luggage at Onn Nakatsugawa and returned on day 3 for one more night.
Nice video! I hope to travel there one day
Nice video
Awesome! Thanks for the Nakasendo tips👍
Looks amazing! When in June did you go? I'm looking to go in June but nervous about the potential snow conditions!
I went around 3rd week of June. It differs every year, so on certain years there are more snow. In my year, thankfully the snow is clearing up the week before I started. Snow wouldn't be an issue if you bring crampons or if you hike in the early morning and end by early afternoon when the snow is hard and not slippery. It is always great to try to do it a little off-peak to enjoy the trail more, all the best!
It's not a hike as it stated in the title!
Cool little hike.
How many time you take to climb up brother ?
@@shivatamang8587 it takes about 2hrs if you are a seasoned hiker
Awesome video QS .. completed TMB between July 02 2023 to July 11 2023 .. we booked our refuges starting October 1, 2022 and even this early some refuges were already sold out .. Plan early and listen to QS advice !! Enjoy your TMB
fantastic, I go in December. Brilliant video. thank you so much .
@russBrownrigg December is a lot colder and wet, be sure to have your jacket and raincoat!
@@hikingwithqs Thank you for your advice, very kind of you to take time . I hope to see more of your adventures.
Great video.can I ask, is the path clear or do I have to apply it? GPS
The path is quite clear throughout the hike and there are many people hiking. You can use GPS if you are trying to do a variant, but otherwise I think the signs are enough.
Thank you very much for this information. The experience will be beautiful.
Hi, loved the video! Please can you send me the route you took please as I am thinking of doing this tomorrow. Thank you
I don't have the full route but you can try using bits of 2 different routes on Alltrails to get there. 1. Angon to Chalet de l'Aulp de Montmin (only the first part of this map) www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/france/haute-savoie/roc-lancrenaz-col-des-fretes-et-verel-depuis-angon 2. Chalet de l'Aulp to the summit (#2 onwards) www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/france/haute-savoie/la-tournette-via-chemin-du-col-de-l-aulp
Thank you so much 😊
Good job sir! Hiking up to that peak is great. Would you recommend hiking shoes and gloves? And would you recommend going in the morning during summertime?
@ANDRE1mang thank you! Hiking shoes is always recommended when hiking mountains as it is a lot safer with good shoes, especially when going down. Gloves are optional if it is only a day hike - I find it useful for sections with rope or metal supports. Summertime morning is good but check the weather forecast for rain before going. If a storm is predicted, hike another day.
Very nice thank you 👍
Thank you for sharing. We will be there next week. When have you been in Fansipan? Which month?
Enjoy your hike and hope you found the video useful! I was there in April.
amazinggg ive been there, the guys at Tupilak are so good vibesss
I climbed it in 2017. It was good to see the mountain again. thx!
Hi QS, nice video and well capture. u really good. i wonder how much do u hire a guide? Thank you
A little over SGD100 last year's rate. I think if you contact him directly using the the link in description, maybe he'll charge you cheaper. I used a platform which may have taken a bit of a fee in between.
Thankyou very much for your info@@hikingwithqs
If I want to finish in one day, can you please tell me where to and how ti start, all the little details? Would be great if I can get Your email 🥲
Hello! I'm actually not too sure where to start myself, since I hired a guide who drove me to the starting point on a motorbike. There are information available online easily, and you can also try to use Alltrails for navigation. Websites will be able to tell you where to start along the QL4D road.
Hi! How long did it take ? At what time did you start to walk? Thank you 😊
9hrs starting at about 8am!
Excellent, thanks! I’m planning the same and I’m collecting information about 😅
What was your total time (including stops) from La Balme to Elisabetta?
I went through Col des Four and total time was 9hrs, starting from 8am and ending at 5pm. Very tough day!
Man it looks good , i’m going on that next week…thx for a good video 😊
Hi, Hiking with QS. Nice vídeo content, but it's a pity it is too short.😢 Wanted to see longer videos from you! 😊
The next one will be longer :) This hike is very short but still a nice hike for beginners!
@@hikingwithqs Hi there I meant length of video recordings 🎥🎞, thanks anyway, 🚶🏻♂️Keep safe & Take care! 🚶🏻♂️
Thanks for sharing this first of all - very helpful! A few questions if you don't mind. You visited during June, any particular reason for that timeframe? On other videos I watched, many have shown severe thunderstorm and rain at times. What are your thoughts on the temperature, weather, etc. Also, you mentioned that you did laundry at some of the refuges. Do they all offer laundry services? Are they coin-operated? Are there both washing and drying units? Were you ever concerned about not having enough time to dry clothes? Apologies if these questions seem silly... Also, how often did you encounter refuge? Thinking of where to take restroom breaks throughout the day.
June is the earliest period to do TMB if you are not intending to bring snow crampons. There are more people in July - Sep on the trail. Thunderstorm is hard to predict, it can occur on certain weeks if you are unlucky, so this can't be planned. I did my laundry manually in the toilet 😂 the clothes I brought were all fast drying so if you have an hour before sunset, they should dry. Refuges are mostly few hours apart, in some cases they are further, so check the map and plan your route! You should get to know your hiking speed by the first day 😉
Thanks!!!
Excellent coverage of terrain and refuges! Thank you for sharing the details of your trip. I'm excited to hike this loop next Aug 2024. I was surprised to see so much snow there in June. You really pushed yourself on this amazing trek. Great job! Appreciate your sharing what the Refuges look like inside and your comments. Well put together video! Happy you met some nice hikers along the way.
Enjoy your hike!
Thank Q for sharing 😁
super
Great video! I liked it very much. When exactly did you hike? First half of June or the second half?
2nd half of June!
hi, may I know how long did you take to complete the hike?
I started at 6am and reached summit at 11.20am. Came down by 4pm.
I really liked your video! You gave a lot of information that I didn't find in other people's videos. Also, you're a beast, hiking the whole TMB in just 7 days! Keep up the great work!
Hello from New Mexico.. do these places charge for camping?
If you want to use the toilet facilities for shower and have a great dinner and breakfast, then you pay. Otherwise it is free to camp at most campsites!
@@hikingwithqsVery nice. Thanks for responding.
Great tips. I hiked the TMB in 2021 and 2022 (10 days) and stayed at refuges. Your advice is exactly what I experienced and what I would advise. Thank you for a superb video!
Very good video. It is nice to come across your channel through this video. I loved the music, transitions, speeding up of slow bits, and information provided. Cheers 👍
Nice video! I am planning to do a hiking session in two weeks. Do you have the route available for using it with my gps? Thanks!
Thank you! I used alltrails for the first part of the hike (you can find it easily with "bukhansan" keyword and it's the first one). After reaching the peak, I self-navigated to Jeungneung :) The area is quite easy to navigate due to the clear paths. Enjoy your hike!
thanks for sharing the details of the rifugio Bertone - so hard to find anything on it online other than some very negative reviews! It looks pretty decent!
Yup it's not too bad actually! I would think the worst reviews come from refuge de la croix du bonhomme or refuge lac blanc!
Awesome ! So how you booking refuge ? Thank
You must go to Autourdumontblanc website, but there are some refuges that only take bookings by email, so you have to search for them online.
nice one bro. thanks for showing this route. i only use this route as my exit but it seems fun to go to the peak through this trail as well. 😊😊😊
Great video! A few years ago I also climbed Bukhansan and absolutely loved it! It's great to see it again in this video
nice video!! i was wondering if is it possible to do the hiking without the guide… thanks🫶🏼
I believe you can, but not recommended because you will be unlikely to make it past the ranger station at the base without the guide. If you skip the station and get into a situation where you need help, it may cause trouble to the hiking community if the authorities tighten the rules for tourists.
how much does the guide cost?
I remember paying a little over SGD100 for a one person solo private adventure. You should check out their website in the link and ask for a quotation from Khai!@@zaynpoly2354
The food looks so delicious!
Great simple tips
superbe vidéo merci beaucoup !!!!
Is the car can reach every refuge? One of our team members is injured so he is thinking of hiring a car and staying with the group by driving down to the refuge?
Not every Refuge is reachable by car. Your friend might have to stay in the towns every night, and drive to the next town. The towns are Chamonix, Les Contamines, Les Chapieux, Courmayeur, La Fouly, Champex Lac, Trient and Argentiere. You will pass by these players on the hike.
How tough is the hike ? Moderate or risky ? Any trails ? Any guide available?
It is moderate if you do it over 2 days, but doing it in a day requires hiking experience and stamina. The trail is straightforward. I did it with the guide you see in the video, link in the description.
Easy mode
Very good trip and video. Keep it up
Great video ! What do you think about doing the TDMB at the end of September ? Thanks
I think it shouldn't be a big problem if you are okay with cold. It is the beginning of cooler temperatures and you have less snow issues than June, although you should still check the conditions on FB groups before heading out. It might get quite cold at night or when it rains.
Thanks for sharing your vlog, it was very nice to see you connect with all sorts of people from different country's! I also want to do the TMB and you inspire me to do so!
Glad you found inspiration! Good luck and hope you'll enjoy your hike :)
Hi KS, are you from the little red dot? I saw your cap and figured you are. I have booked for TMB next year, though waiting for the agent to confirm all accommodations, it seems like they plan around Bonatti!
@glennneo9304 Awesome! I hope you'll enjoy your hike! Bonatti is reputable and shouldn't go wrong I think, and they are only bookable some time in Nov.
rosti at refuge bovine is amazing!
I'm starting to miss TMB already!
Mommy mommy look! I am on the internet !
Nice to have met both of you!
Great video! I like that you showed the inside of the hostel!
