My eyes can’t stop staring into the beautiful face before me. I stare at their teeth, each one having some personality. They might not like them but I adored those teeth. The simple gesture of your mouth slowly going up. The laughter I heard echoes through my mind. It causes me to smile. I was saddened that they felt the need to hide something so important and pure. My eyes flew towards them. My arms glided towards them as we slide into a embrace. Our smiles only grow larger. I feel the sun shine on us just like their bright smile.

I flinch at my own pinch. Silly, right? The thought even makes me laugh. Seeing them smile so genuinely, so wholeheartedly-oh, my-I can’t help the broad smile that spreads across my own face. My heart flutters. I think I’m in the clouds. Dreaming? Oh, no. I’ve already checked that. They try to cover their face with a hand. I can see it in their eyes-the brief flicker of uncertainty… almost as though they think they’re doing something they’re not supposed to. I reach out, grabbing their wrist gently and shaking my head. “Let it,” I assure them, my cheeks warm with the thought that I had made them smile. “It suits you.” “Does it?” they ask quietly, their eyes dropping from my face to the pavement beneath. Their shoe scrapes the ground as they kick a pebble, their free hand finding their jacket pocket before coming back up to touch their cheek. “It… um… feels funny.” “It’s cute,” I assert. And it’s true. I can’t stop looking at their face-I must look silly. They have dimples, and to think, I never knew! Their teeth are imperfectly perfect-a pearly white, slightly crooked, with two front buck teeth. I find it endearing. I love smiles. Most of all, I love them-especially when they’re not angry at me all the time. So, I can’t help myself. I’m throwing myself into their arms and wrapping my own tightly around their neck. I hug them, and our smiles only deepen.

Or any sort of compliment she gives me, really. “You know you loveee me.” I give her a toothy grin again, because that shuts her up. It distracts her, and I don’t know how else to continue the conversation other than proving her right. God, Frankie, what’re you doing to me?

I have a character like that actually! She mainly heals but can do some impressive damage when she wants (think Katara from ALTA). She has a no kill oath but breaks it when one of her teammates gets injured in such a way that he may or may not die- A lot of people became suspect of her and her healing abilities after that incident.
