    Enjoyed the video and well done. Something seemed wrong with the audio though? Struggled to hear your voice at times. I’m going this race on Saturday! Very excited

      Enjoy the race. It’s a really well organised event. The audio was not great as I was using an old microphone. Best of luck with the race!

      It’s a fun race. Great route, apart from having to cross a main road, but that bit has a marshal. Enjoy it! 😊

      Congratulations on completing the entire course. I was down as running the 100Km, but my legs were struggling by half way and lost the enthusiasm. Fantastic views though!

    I was in this race. My first 100 mile. Just under 25 hours. It was brutal. Just wanted to say thanks to the video. Also your thames 100k video from a few years a go was my main race prep video when i did that race in 2019. Well done on the finish!

    • @Robsrunning
      @Robsrunning 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan Challenger - yes Bristol is a flat course on the whole, although there are a few small hills in the last mile, so keep something in reserve for the end! Enjoy - it’s my favourite course and the crowds at the end are amazing.

    hi robert, im running this event this september. i believe its a mix of road and low key trail. would you recommend using road shoes for this event? or a light trail shoes? thank you!

    • @Robsrunning
      @Robsrunning 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eduardo Jr. Buglosa I ran in road shoes and it was fine, but a trail shoe would work too as it is mainly a flat path the majority of the time. Enjoy the race! 😀 Have fun.

    I’m looking at walking this next year, I might find it very tempting when I get to Maidenhead to go home ( I live just a 2 minute walk from the bridge 🙄) My question is it well marshalled? I’m worried about being on my own in the dark on a tow path. 😮

    • @Robsrunning
      @Robsrunning 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is well marshalled at the checkpoints and at night there is a rule that you have to leave the checkpoint in groups, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Also, there were thousands of people doing the event, so there are always other competitors around. Best of luck if you do give it a go. Its a great event.

      @@clairevaughan7797 hey. I walked this event this year and honestly can't fault it, its so well sign posted, the night is tough but they have trek masters to walk with the groups and I never felt unsafe. It's tough but so worth it to get to the finish line!

    • @clairevaughan7797
      @clairevaughan7797 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emma Guyver Thanks for the info I was worried about being stranded on a towpath somewhere! How did you find the training?

    • @tallemi
      @tallemi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clairevaughan7797 honestly you won't regret doing it....once you finish, multiple times while walking I said never again, but now thats not so true lol. It's such a well organised event and so many supportive people! The training I didn't do well, with my work and time passing the most I walked was 18 miles, try and train in similar area, for Thames path it is so flat train on flat ground because it's a killer on the legs and the more used to it you are the better. Action challenge do have an app once you've signed up with a very good training plan if u can stick to it you'll be fine. But I got to the finish line with little training, it wasn't easy but its possible!

    Great video, did it 4 times, doing race to the stones this year. whats the main difference with the races.

    • @Robsrunning
      @Robsrunning 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Race to the Stones is flatter than London to Brighton - L2B has a horrible hill right at the end which is a killer. The end of Race to the Stones is mre impressive, running through the ancient stones. Both are awesome races though.
