TWSBI Eco Fountain Pen and Iroshizuku Ink Unboxing
A dollar a techo is amazing! I’m so glad you’re giving them new life. X3 Is the name of the store “Palettes and Bins” exactly? I wonder if they have any more? I’d love to get my hands on such a deal too. XD
It was a crazy deal! I hope you can find some.
❤❤❤
♥ ♥
So how do you prevent the ink from transferring to everything the journal touches, since those are water soluble and easily transferable
So far this has not been a problem for me. Maybe I got lucky!
Love the paper you use to cover and the carryover it's not really noticeable that it's cut narrow at the bottom. It's very nice .
Thanks, I'm so glad it worked out! ♥
Great idea.! $1 each Fantastic deal.!! I am so disappointed with the new paper and I actually have I believe a couple older empty A6s that I never used I might have to do the same thing..! Thanks for the inspiration.!! 💖💖
I hope it works out for you! ♥ I have seen a lot of people concerned about the new paper.
Jinhaos typically are Fine nibs - I love my Jinhaos!
I have two now and love them both! ♥
Good for you finding old TRP. For $1, I would have bought 10.
I know, right? Such a steal! I actually bought myself 10 and hubby got me another 5 for Christmas ♥
Just a heads up: my hobonichi with a clear cover on it doesn't fit into the leather case I have for it (from Galen Leather). I do know, though, that Hobonichi sells the clear "cover on cover" that is big enough to go on top of your fabric/leather cover. I've never used one, though. Great video!! 🥰
Good to know about the Galen Leather case! Thanks for sharing. ♥ I need to check on what fits - once I find an A5 clear cover.
Girl where did you find these planners on sale for $1?
♥ At a Pallets and Bins store not far from our place - the buy and resell things from Amazon returns and places like that.
@@karenbuhrdesigns That's a crazy good deal! It was fun watching you re-date the planner. Happy planning!
@@karenbuhrdesignswow,wish there were stores like that in my area. I bought my cousin and techno a5 on Amazon for 11.00 and 24.00. They are both 2024. I’m just waiting for them to arrive before I’m redating mine. I didn’t want to spend lots of money on them,if I wasn’t sure that I would like them.
@@InnerMagpie I got lucky finding the ones I did find! I hope you enjoy yours ♥
@@mandiemoore Thank you ♥
Goodmorning and congratulations for the video. J would like to know the model of the third fountain pen that appears in the video, the one whithout the clip. Thanks
Fuliwen 017
Here is the link to the pen: www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806729868704.html?
Yes it is a Fuliwen 017 ♥
For the year at a glance, The Coffee Monsterz Co have cute mini calanders. The yearly index, Mandy Lynn Plans, has date strips. Keep in mind, it will cause a slight bump.
Great suggestions! Thank you! ♥
I had a roll of wide washi one time that was small monthly calendars. I got it from a Michael’s or a Joann’s, a couple years ago. Maybe Amazon would have something similar if you’re interested. I really like the fact you bought those for $1 each. I’m not picky either. I like variety. Mine always reflects my moods, what’s going on at the moment. I enjoy looking back and sometimes wondering what was I thinking here? Or wow! That was genius… lol. I don’t say the last very often. And yes, smudgy is a word: having blurred or smeared marks on the surface… I had to look it up. I had already figured it was. Your videos are so much fun. I always get ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I love looking back through my journals and seeing how my style has evolved over time. ♥ I'll have to look around for the calendar washi!
Great organization 🎉
Thanks! ♥
The piston is built into the pen. Just like the twsbi eco twisting the end cap or piston will cause the mechanism to move up and down in the barrel of the pen. Piston should be all the way down before dipping your pen into the ink bottle. Once the piston is down, twist the end cap opposite of what was previously done so the mechanism pulls up filling the barrel with ink. Be sure you have fully twisted the end cap closed but do not over tighten it.
Thank you so much! ♥
They are piston fillers!
Thank you ♥
I really like your journal idea using a book. But I don't see your next video??
I need to get back to using this book! I started it and then found something new and shiney that distracted me...
@ one of my downfalls too!! I liked your take on using books as journals… hopefully, we’ll see more😉💜
It is on my long list of things to do! ♥
Hang on to the calendar for 7 years and it will line up again. My brother does that. It’s neat. ☺️
I got enough of them (15 to be exact!) to probably still have some in seven years!
Some unscrew opposite of what you expect
I have tried every which way... Right turn, left turn, pull... Nothing works... so far
I figure this will be WOW tomorrow when dried. I like dark ink for writing. ❤
I like dark ink for most writing, but some lighter colors are fun too! ♥
Looks very nice. Makes me think fall. ❤❤❤
It does look like fall! ♥
I keep reminding myself I cannot fall down the rabbit hole but oh my the shimmers and colours of these inks are so delightful.
Rabbit holes are so dangerous! LOL. I have lost count of how many I have gone down!
Very nice color. My mom loved all shaded of green. Yesterday’s turned even better than I expected. Hope you have a fabulous night.
My Mom also loves all shades of green ♥
I like brown and tan shades. I’ve been contemplating making an afghans in those shades. Very nice ink. Yesterday’s is just wow.
The brown dried nicely - you'll see soon!
At first I thought it looked a bit coppery. 👈(Yesterday’s) cosmic glow is a great color. Whoever names these inks is quite good at their job.
I agree with you, the names are very well done!
Just found this playlist. Alisa Burke is one of favorites too. The white made your doodles really pop. ❤
I love her art journals! ♥
I like this orange as well. Very festive for autumn color palette. I was saving this video for Friday evening relaxation time. But I over relaxed and fell asleep. 😂 this color is actually how I would envision potpourri. Another autumn type color. It’s nice.
I love that you’re watching for relaxation! ♥
It’s a very nice orange. Another great color. ❤
It's definitely a vibrant one! ♥
Thank you for postinng this inkvent Calendar series. I am new to the pen and ink hobby, and really appreciate seeing the different inks that are offered. It was almost as hard to choose an ink for my first pen as it was to choose the pen itself, lol. I happily ended on a Lamy Safari, and a bottle of iroshizuku syo-ro.
My first fountain pen was a Pilot Metropolitan with individual ink cartridges (not using a converter or bottled ink - that came later!)
I hear the pitter patter of little feet. Lol. I absolutely love this one. I’ve already said it, but there are a lot of home runs in this advent.
I do love the color of this one!
Tundra is very nice. Winterberry even sounds wonderful. Another really nice ink. ❤
I really like both! ♥
Wow! Extreme sheen is pretty cool. I would use tundra a lot. I really like grays and greens. Very nice color. ❤
I like Tundra a lot too! ♥
Maroon? Brick reddish? I don’t know how you write next to the qtip application without getting it all over you. Lol. I’d be smearing that stuff everywhere. And now as I look again it looks brownish. Very nice.
Not sure how I have not smudged it yet! Hope you did not jinx me! ♥
Congrats - nice pen/ink combination.
Thanks, I think so too! ♥
I stopped in sort of because of the compo book videos. I love working with these books but I really don't like the lines for writing behind whatever I am working on. I just can't do the thing where you completely cover the page with scraps or whatever other tricks you might have heard. Regardless, mine get really huge! I noticed a dotted composition book and the dots just disappear on the page/spread. (They are very small/very light gray dot grids) You can only get them around the time school is getting back into session. They are $1 each which is a little higher priced but you can use them for so many things....including all types of journals and daily type books even kids journals or a 'craft with me video.. The book ends up being super thick/wide so I tend to keep making other journals for specific things like background ideas, to do lists, glue books, practice new ideas, place to put paint you would otherwise rinse away. The pages do pretty well being torn out as needed, a well decorated to do list...anything paper you might think of. The pages are a little thicker than the lined ones. They are at Walmart. Some of my covered fronts have washi tape on the edges inside the journal but also washi tape diagonally on the front an back--like sort of a sampler of washi tapes. For better adherence, run a rough piece of sand paper on it or even an acrylic nail file it to help keep the paint and glued things you want to stick well. I love your ideas and just subscribed...nice to see people from the beginning of the journey. Sorry this was so long! Best of luck to you...see you in the next video!
I love that you’re using the composition books for so many projects! ♥ I'll have to watch for the dot grid ones during back to school time!
I can tell I would love this one. It’s nice before it even dries.
Me too! ♥
Very springtime. I like it. ❤
Fabulous choices.
Thank you! ♥
This color is absolutely gorgeous. ❤
It’s so pretty! ♥
Wow day 11 turned out beautiful! There are some really nice inks for this month so far. There’s only one that I “kinda” liked but wouldn’t use very often. Or maybe even at all. I would have to find a specific purpose for it. Today’s is super nice.
I think the Lemon and Lime is one I would use very seldom, but I quite like most of the rest!!
Have you identified any yet that you want full bottles of down the road? I really like Wilted Rose and Noble Fir. I like that you are using one whole page plus a generous writing sample with your swatch method--makes it easier for old-timers like me to get a real view, which doesn't always happen when people swatch multiple small patches and a few scribbles on the same page!
Thank you! So far I might be tempted to buy a full bottle of Cranberry, Noble Fir, and Chilly Nights (and maybe Snow Globe) We shall see!
Day 10 dried is absolutely gorgeous. This one is very nice. You have some really nice inks so far. Your splatter spot looks a little like blood.
It's definitely a very striking color!
Beautiful ❤ looking forward to seeing it dry.
This might be my favorite! ♥
Very nice. I like greens. Kinda pine tree-ish. ❤
It is really pretty! ♥
Cranberry is simply beautiful. Lemon and lime is aptly named. I like it. A specialty ink for rare occasions. It looks almost fluorescent. ❤ It being a chameleon, I suspect a surprise after it dries. I hope…
It really is a beautiful shade of cranberry! I am still unsure of the Lemon & Lime :)
I live vicariously through you with the ink. I am a total clutz. I would have that ink everywhere. But I love it. When you do the qtip I’m always ooohing the screen. This got an extra ooo.
I know what you mean, I’m always very careful with it! One day I will probably spill something!
I like your paper edges. I too, watch Nicole, Relax, Cut, Glue and I have more than 4 projects going from watching her, and others, now you included. I am ready to create. Thank you.
Thank you! Now I just need to create in them all!! I need more time i each day!
I love every bit of this haul. The pumpkin beads are really cute. Lately I like using transparent floral/foliage stickers for layering look. Have been enjoying those a lot. You have wonderful taste. I always enjoy what you share. The window/bench/ sitting nook stickers are very cool. ❤
I love that you also like using those stickers. ♥
Day 5 already. It’s already going too fast. That’s looking grayish. Ty for sharing. It’s very enjoyable. I can see the lilac-ness the further you go. ❤❤❤ pretty
Your little pad has character. It would be missed. Lol.
THis month is going fast!
Very true!! I love character ♥
I like this color a lot. ❤
Me too! I am enjoying all of them so far! ♥
Day 2 is looks good dried. I like greens. It looks like it was writing very smooth. ❤
The green is really pretty!
