salt on the chips to preference, vinegar on chips too, again for preference on how much, and if you prefer onion vinegar or normal malt vinegar. tartare dip for the fish but only for when the taste gets a bit samey after the first half of eating it :D. i would say haddock is the superior fish for fish and chips even though cod is most well known. try ordering 'curry sauce' to dip chips in. its really part of the british part of the experiance. most places in the uk will not salt your food for you, it is always down to preference. so salt will be provided for quick meals like this for you to make your choice.

When a burger is that oily/fatty you need some pickle in there.. to cut the fat. It helps to get rid of that oily coating you get in your mouth from the fatty burger and sauce. Did the truffle chips only have truffle shavings? Because only truffle would be to much indeed.. the best way to do it on chips is to mix the truffle with some Parmigiano-Reggiano but not too much, they both enhance the taste of the truffle and cheese. 70% Parmigiano and 30% truffle, sprinkle that over the fries and you're done.
