I want to share my experiences while living in Japan with the world one step at a time. Follow along as I grow as a person and laugh along if I do something that makes you smile.
Still Studying N3 Vocabulary (Day 25)
I'm still studying for N3 Vocabulary because I didn't finish all of the words that I was meant to study when I took N3 this July. I still passed but I want to finish the rest of the words I have left in my Bunpro account while I study for N2! Thank you for watching this and study along!

Hey, I have just got a recommendation of one of your videos, when I clicked on your channel I noticed how determined you are to get this down. Even though my comment might not have any impact, all I wanna say is keep going, your work is truly inspiring. I'm still studying N5 but I will surely progress. Once again, thank you !
That’s good you were recommended one of my videos and that you thought that way. I’m just doing what I can since I know this will help me in the future as long as I keep at it for as long as I can. There are times where I want to quit but I don’t think I can even if I don’t post these type of videos in the future. I’m sure I’ll still be studying. Thank you for the comment and glad it’s inspiring you to study as well! I know you can do it so don’t quit because it’s easier than starting all over again. I’m not saying you won’t have times where you won’t quit, but it’s normal to keep trying multiple times until you have what it takes to continue. No problem and best of luck to you!
Good luck for your exam!!
Thank you!🙏

Brother how many hours daily are you studying? And are you living in japan right now?
3-4 hours maybe since I have more to write after recording and other ways of studying. Yes, living in Japan right now.
Filipino?
Who? I don't look like it do I?

@@McJamLife anyway you look so handsome 😅😅
what books/materials are you using for N2?
I use a website called Bunpro everyday for studying grammar and vocabulary. I also watch Japanese dramas for my listening during my break from studying. For reading comprehension and additional listening would be the 新完全マスター series for N2.
Recently in Japan, there tends to be negative impressions towards foreigners, but seeing you makes me feel reassured. I'm rooting for you!
Thank you for the comment! I'm just focusing on myself by studying so that I can navigate better here while living in Japan.

Not sharing screen is for security?
Pretty much so I had to do it this way.
Hi wonderful job bro. I really excited. I am also preparing to jlpt N2. Can you tell me name of this app I really interested in
Hello there! Thanks for that! Oh really? How is it going for you? I still need to do some reading comprehension and listening practice on the side. It's called Bunpro which they have a website and a app.
Hey man! Good luck this December. I’m taking N4 too. I’m not practicing to write Kanji anymore given that it is not part of the exam to write, I was wondering what is your goal, other than retention or learning, of why you still write? Job?
Thank you for the comment and question at the end. You're right about N4 not having kanji being something to write but it does help when you might need to recognize it in later levels. Good luck this December! I personally enjoy it and somewhat dread it from an exam perspective, but writing each day gives me an advantage when it comes to recognition for the first section. I do want to be able to read more after I finish taking the test and maybe if I really need it, I have something for if I apply for a job again. I mainly want to read manga, media, and other resources that are in Japanese. Next big goal would be using the words I have been writing in actual conversation so speaking.
@@McJamLife Good luck to your goals then! I think that we have different study approach vs Kanji. Haha. I do use Anki and lots of reading as well. Thanks for answering my question.
Good luck ✨️
Thank you! I hope to pass it🙏

Hello, which study material did you start studying with?
I used various study materials. Some worked, while others didn't for me. I would say it can depend on the person. I would find something like an app to get some kanji and or vocabs to write 10-15 of those a day. 2-3 times per word you're writing so it will stick especially if you use something like Anki. Right now, I use Bunpro which is somewhat similar but better for me since it has full sentences with the words being used.
thanks

Thank you! I can't wait to be finished with it!
is Bunpro good, can you share how you study on it
Yes, I think Bunpro is good. I started using it for learning grammar and decided to also use their vocabulary section. I pretty much show my screen in my recent videos on how I study with Bunpro. My general way of studying right now is 15 words of N2 and 15 words of N3. I write them 2-3 times the first time and review them later in the day another 2-3 times. I would advise 10 words in the beginning until you get used to writing that much.
what is that site?
It's called Bunpro
where are you from?
I currently live in Japan.
what app do you use for studying?
I use Bunpro which is online and they have app.
Hey! It's nice seeing other people working hard to study japanese, may i ask what app are u using for the flashcards? Thanks man
Thanks bro, I use Bunpro! I mainly use the website to study but they do have an app that's in open beta. I'm doing what I can with Japanese but it doesn't ever feel enough yet. Which level are you going for?
Hey, just a compliment I think your pronunciation is very good for your level. If pronunciation is important to you, maybe look into pitch accent as I got the impression it isn't something you've looked into from your reading aloud.
Thanks for the compliment. The website I am using to study with does have the pitch accent, but currently I am not too concerned with it for now. I've been told before that my pronunciation is okay but my pitch accent needs work when I used to attend language school. I'll get around to reading more out loud and getting used to saying things with the pitch accent in mind. I'll be sure to do more listening and repeating words outside of recording my study sessions.
@@McJamLife yeah, if you're not concerned with it I think your phonemes sound substantially better than the average N3 passer. Only thing else I'd say is if pitch is something you plan to revisit later it'll be harder to adjust the later you leave it
@@ZulayagosIscool I'm not worried about the pitch accent for now or later because I still have time. I don't really get tested on it for that so I'll be okay. Have you also taken the JLPT before? What level did you take?
@@McJamLife I passed N2 about 5 years ago. Maybe a ぎりぎり N1 pass. Yes you have time, but the longer you leave it, the more relearning you'll have to do! If you focus too much on JLPT results you might miss the forest for the trees. good luck in your studies
@@ZulayagosIscool Congratulations on passing both of them when you did. I'll try my best and get to it.

I first need to know how you're currently studying. Also, which part are you worried of the most? The first, second, or third section? Thank you! Good luck with the N3 exam! Are you taking it this December or later?
@@McJamLife oh currently i am memorizing 1800 vocabs from n3 book and kanjis from saomatome, then im doing listening from n5-n4 and then n3, struggling a little bit at listening maybe because of the background noises around my area. Yes this december.
@@kunevil-bl3sk For vocab and kanji, I used to write 3 times the first time I see a word, review it again in the same day and write it another 3 times. I would use Bunpro which is why I would write a lot with the furigana on top for the words with kanji. It helped so much for me but my hands would hurt from it so I recommend maybe 2 times first and another 2 times later in the day while reading sentences aloud to yourself. Maybe wearing earbuds and or a headset would help, but I'm fortunate enough I don't have the background noise as much depending on what day of the week it is. For listening, I mainly used the soumatome too and the shinkanzen master version. After the test, I went straight into watching Japanese dramas which helped my reading and listening a fair bit so maybe try that to see if that works for you.
