It's a great spot. We've located the structure that those walleye seem to like. The boat has been a huge asset. Part of me wants to explore the shallows for pike, but catching walleye consistently is just so much fun! Thanks for checking out the video.

Bruce, that's awesome. I haven't been to Gull in a while. We really like the boat. It was probably our best investment in a while, and it was a long overdue one for the amount of time we like to spend outdoors. I'm confident this thing will last 30 years too, and someday, the boys will take it out with or without me.

We were catching walleye, which are a delicious fish to eat. The only issue is that you have to have tags to keep the fish. My sons and I bought two tags each (which is the maximum a person can have on this lake). The fish have to be within a certain length range to keep also. It means we have to be selective about what fish to keep and when to keep them. I have 1 tag left to fill, so I might keep one more soon for dinner. This lake also has Northern Pike, Whitefish, Burbot, and Perch.

Absolutely, Dan. It's a handy tool. It's perfect for charging devices like phones, cameras, etc and seems good enough to run low wattage devices like an LED light. It's too low power for electric heating or cooking devices. I've wanted something like this for a while for off grid camping trips. I couldn't be more happy that Allpowers chose to work with me on this.

Hi Dan, it's a pretty decent size. 37.3 Square miles of surface area, but it's not too deep. The average depth is 20 feet, and the max depth is 30 feet. Because of how shallow it is, it has a real bad algae problem right now.

We have been super lucky this year. Walleye quantity and quality are good! Wish we could keep more fish, though!

Isn't that the thing... It's hard to spend time exploring new spots for fish when you have a consistent location already pinned. I'd like to troll the edges and hammer weed beds for pike but hard to give up on a spot where we are frequently catching some nice fish. Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a good weekend ahead.

Hi Ryan, Around home, the migratory , upland, and archery big game season opens on September 1st. Some zones open on August 25th for elk archery. Can't believe that the season is pretty much here. What about you?

Man, too bad about your neighbours! All provincial parks can be such gong shows sometimes, especially during long weekends. We are staying now in a private park and it's so much better for us. The lake is a funny one. It can get pretty choppy with the wind. Seems like the fishing is well managed, though. There is no shortage of nice chunky walleye.

Hi Christina, it really has. It's a lot more fun to be catching. The only regret that I have is not getting a hard pulled boat years ago. It's about a million times safer and more fun. I'm glad I got the knack for starting and restarting the engine. That made me a bit nervous at first. Did you go fishing at all this summer? I recall you saying you were going to give it a try.

It really is! When we're doing this around docks and boat launches, we could be saving someone a cut up foot too. Most of these spoons just need a good cleaning and a fresh hook at the end. Only one of them was rusted out and can't be used. It really is a surprise - the little man is really digging this hobby! Can't wait to toss the magnet again soon. Thanks for checking out the video.

Absolutely! It's a great system for light use like device charging. For my Tent hunting camp this will be a good system versus all the weight associated with the gas generator and it saves me having to run the truck to charge devices. I like how I can leave the solar panel hooked up and come back to a full Power Station in the evening.
