I like how the song saves the chorus for the very end (where the title is, too.) Feels almost like it goes verse, verse/pre-chorus, verse/pre-chorus/refrain, then verse/pre-chorus/refrain/CHORUS.
My shadow side so amplified Keeps coming back dissatisfied Elementary son but it's so My love affair with everywhere Was innocent why do you care? Someone start the car, time to go You're the best I know My sunny side has up and died I'm betting that when we collide The universe will shift into a low The travesties that we have seen Are treating me like Benzedrine Automatic laughter from a pro My what a good day for a walk outside I'd like to get to know you a little better, baby God knows that I really tried My what a good day for a take out bride I'd like to say we did it for the better of I saw you there so unaware Those hummingbirds all in your hair Elementary son but it's so The disrepair of Norma Jean Could not compare to your routine Balarama beauty going toe to toe My what a good day for a let it slide I'd like to say we did it for the better of I thought about it And I brought it out I'm motivated by the lack of doubt I'm consecrated but I'm not devout The mother, the father, the daughter Right on the verge, just one more dose I'm travelling from coast to coast My theory isn't perfect but it's close I'm almost there, why should I care? My heart is hurting when I share Someone open up, let it show My what a good day for a walk outside I'd like to think we did it for the better of I thought about it and I brought it out I'm motivated by the lack of doubt I'm consecrated but I'm not devout The mother, the father, the daughter Oh you don't form in the wet sand You don't form at all Oh, you don't form in the wet sand I do Yeah You don't form in the wet sand You don't form at all Oh, you don't form in the wet sand I do Yeah
They make me dance like a fool. And I'm a singer so I practice my voice over Anthony. I was in prison with the dude that gave me a tattoo named chief who was from Grand rapids Michigan and he he tattooed that Indian chief on dudes arm. I wonder if he's still alive
Little 4am walk into the forest, this one, the first six birds to sing. Chorus is stepping out from under the canopy and into the blinding sun. Suddenly you're alive, shit is a drug.
John and Anthony's song about coming out of addiction, something that can't form in wet sand, i.e. waves of life that are kind and also unforgiving. Loving yourself, forgiving yourself, you can form in the wet sand no matter what waves come at you. Give that love to yourself then give it away now. Mothers, fathers, daughters and the two sons in this song all have love to give and receive. That's why John screams yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. He accepts life as it is for him
Absolutely Beautiful! One of the best RHCP songs ever ❤️and I remember under the bridge from the early 90s when I was in my early 20s now mid 50s still listening
Man I remember seeing them play this live on the Stadium Arcadium tour, John teased Over the Hills and far away by Led Zeppelin in the intro. Great track Wet Sand though, one of the Chili's best cuts.
I discovered this song nearly 15 years ago and I thought it was the best guitar solo that I've ever heard. I've listened to many songs with incredible guitar solos since and Wet Sand is still my favorite guitar solo. I just can't describe how it makes me feel. Like drugs.
i was at the seattle show and i wanted them to play this song so bad!!!!!! they didn’t but it was still an amazing show anyways i’m glad you got to see it live!!!🙂🙂🙂
To me this song is about becoming self actualized. All of your past coming together, all of your parts, the light and dark, blending into the force that makes you whole and complete. And once you arrive at this point, after all the struggle and joy swirled together, your true form is revealed. John’s solo at the end Is just so emotional and beautiful… my favorite chili song and I’ve been a fan and seen them on tour since 89/90.
Finally a Wet Sand video with the comments turned on. I love reading and sharing our experiences with music. where were you when you first heard this? How did it feel? How did it smell and taste? What was on your mind? How did this song help you make it through what you were going through? These are important questions to me and I love reading other people's experiences with songs that I also associate strong experiences with. 2006 I hear this song while in Tampa, FL. We were there to bury my Grandfather (RIP) and my cousin and his girlfriend (now wife) stopped to take a secret toke. I had bought the Stadium Arcadium album and had it playing. Wet Sand was on when I realized what we had stopped for. I opened the door and convinced them to let me get stoned with them. We got stoned on the beach and it was beautiful. I won't forget it. We talked about how we missed Grandpa and the fun times that we shared. It was a beautiful family moment and for some reason this song has stuck with that feeling since it happened. It makes me think of Grandpa (love you pa) and my cousin C and his (now wife) A. Miss yall. Beautiful memories that I cherish forever. Makes me miss our Pa. A great family man, countryman and patriot. Godspeed, Pa.
Great story! My turn now - I always liked the RHCP, this was a double album when i was in college i think the last track on first CD so I kinda whizzed through it to hear the rest of the songs. But my friend said this was her favorite track so I gave it another listen with that in mind, and it's probably my favorite RHCP song, it's such a great jam and like 3 songs combined into one, the finale is epic. The End =)
It s about you don't form in the wet sand
Wonderful!

You're the best i know 🤘

Hey may be saying that his personality or soul may have formed in the rain or dark side of life but at least it’s real and not superficial
💕

When every line perfectly explains your experiences and everything swirling around your mind that you can't verbalize.

Guitar chords sounds like Led Zeppelin over the hills and far away
