A beautiful tool made in the late 80ies an 90ies. This copy of the machine is the model with a repositioning-unit. But the wheels arent in grate shape is custom build my own version with more stability. And, more important, the version with hardened tables. A very massive and precise built miter saw from the old days. Built to last. I think at least the next 60 years... It is a Steiner 1003, exactly like the famous ULMIA 352. Same materials used, same precision, same durability, same parts used and the best: still spare parts available. I LOVE THIS SAW. The cut quality is like on my KAPEX 120 from Festool. Absolut no regrets buying this hand power...

Nice, it looks like it cuts super fast. How is the quality of the surface? The teeth seem a bit aggressive to leave a fine surface compared to the standard blade maybe?
I think the title needs adjusting, replace ‘restoration’ with ‘cleaning’. Was a nice calming video though 👍

Wurde von einem Schreinermeister verkauft, der sich die für die Rente zugelegt hat. Er wurde dann aber schwer krank und hat sie irgendwann in dem fast ungenutzten Zustand verkaufen lassen.

@@sl6891 I have one. I bought the thicknesser/planer from a retiring tradesman and it came with it. He had never used it and so could not tell me what to do with it. Can't find any instructions for it. I hope your search for one is fruitful.

I have the same saw, but with the mitre gauge and rip fence, which are the same as those used on my Ulmia Universa machine - Nice find, enjoy! (440 3ph?!? - mine is 220 1ph - much easier to deal with - but if you have a source for parts / accessories for these machines, let me know!)
3ph is pretty comon in germany. We love the torque :) GOOD tip with the universa Maschine. Thanks a lot.

Actually, my bandsaw is fine - but I’d love to find a couple of the accessories for my Ulmia Universa machine - like the drill press, and the grinder. I also need a new switch (prefer an original one) - but these machines and accessories seem pretty uncommon in Europe, and even less so in the US!
As ulmia was a german manufacterer the things show up in germany from time to time.

Danke für den Kommentar. Den diy Kettenspanner hat der Vorbesitzer installiert. Ich habe den zwischenzeitlich ersetzt. Ja, nachdem die Maschine ja praktisch unverändert weiter verkauft wird ist die Ersatzteillage vermutlich noch lange gesichert. Riemen kriegt man sowieso in allen Größen und Lager sind damals meist noch Normteile gewesen. Damit kriegt man die von FAG, SKF oder NSK oder den sonstigen Verdächtigen.
Bist du zufrieden mit der Maschine ?..
Sehr. Vor allem für die Gebrauchtpreise für die man diese immer wieder bekommen kann, ist da sehr viel Luft bis zur nächsten Ausbau-Stufe mit dann vielleicht Spiral cutter heads aber auch dem 10 fachen Preis. Reicht für ab und an mal anspruchsvolle Aufgaben locker. Meine ist sicher 50 mal im Jahr im Einsatz und bis auf Messerwechsel braucht sie nichts.
On your machine the dust extraction cover seems to be missing. It is still available relatively easy or there are also plans available for building one. I had one from 1983 but sold it. It was missing one of the tables and therefore could only be used as thicknesser. These machines in top condition still sell for quite a bit of money here. 🙋🏻♀️Anna
