Hi everyone . I think this mist fan should have been installed where it could get fresh air input not against a hot brick wall. I've been using misters for many years I installed a fan hanging from a shade canopy that is open to fresh air ventilation like a breezeway allows fresh air constantly circulating with cool mist. ⚓
Dude... the fan is outside, about 2 feet from open air.

Is the water use filtered or treated at all?
how much water does it waste? I only ask because I live in southern California and we get fined for wasting water.

Probably illegal in California because it wastes water.
It uses very little water
my az misters - about 20 nozzles - uses a gallon an hour
