Every now and again it happens.

Were those two groups of Anglo speakers young men in their 20's on a stag weekend? (Probably a bit far away for one of those countries). Errrggg 😬. We both had the Republic 12°..... delicious!!!! Then we tried the Strawberry Ale, not on their website..... bloody awful. Tiernan also had a Remorker 12° that he quite fancied. I don't think I'd go there if not for the summer terrace to be honest, that was brilliant.

@@pubsofprague7810 They weren't stags because there were some women at both tables. IMHO mixing fruit with beer should result in the loss of a license to serve beer.

Yeah we needed a mic back then for sure. We thought we'd try something different. No need for all the chatter. More slimline and to the point nowadays. Quite a few have closed down since the pandemic ended. Such a pity.

Thanks for your comment as usual Tom. Prague is changing. I don't think it's hipster, it's just modern. That's our opinion anyway. We'll try and do a traditional bar soon. Pity that Smichov bar is gone. Still pretty cheap beer , compared to further west. Cheers mate.

Hi Tom, how have you been? We haven't frequented this area much either, until recently. Despite the areas, a beer garden in summer is just so enticing. The garden itself looks better in real life than online images suggest. I think you'd like a few bars around here. The 60plus KC price is becoming more and more common unfortunately. @@pubsofprague7810 I‘ve been quite busy for the past months, mainly family matters. My last visit to Prague took place in June but on a very short notice and only for two days. Don‘t know actually when will be the next but I‘m afraid there will be no beergarden season anymore (is this a year-round venue?). Yes, I‘m aware about the rising beer prices and that the „6x“ is quite common nowadays, but for a beergarden in this rather non-touristic area it‘s still a though price, especially for a non Tank Pilsen. FWIW - 52 CZK is a 0,5 Tank Pilsen in the pivnice „Na Konecne“ (and it was 41 CZK just two years ago - jeez). Anyhow, I hope you both are doing well. Best regards and cheers to you!

@@pubsofprague7810 Good that people like us do know that there are cheaper options available. In addition, I really can‘t stand Pilsner all day long. As for the craft beers, the prices are even higher. Or I go by tram to Branik nadrazi where an 11* Branik costs just 38 CZK (but I can‘t drink that the whole day either). I really miss the Corona prices (and emptyness of the city) but that‘s all I am missing from these freaking times.

Really? That's disappointing. Yeah, agree it was (sadly as you mentioned) one of the most delicious beers in Czechia. In our humble opinion too.

@@pubsofprague7810 It's not as remote as Haje for instance. By "remote" I mean compared to Zizkov or the I.P. Pavlova vicinity where I prefer to stay. You got the point with the "old men bars", I do really prefer them because of their special atmosphere. Maybe "hipsteresque" is not the exact description of this place but I'm pretty sure you'll get my point.

I liked their own brewed beer the "Mistni", which just means local, but Tiernan not so much. "Too Bitter" for the T man. They had a delicious sour beer there there too.

Yeah it was a bit odd for the Czech Republic . Very easy to get shloshed with table service. 😉Barman was on his own and it's a very odd layout as most of these old buildings are, perhaps that's the reason.
