What is Rope Access?
We often get asked what Rope Access means and where do you use these skills. From tower work to window cleaning, from rigging & hoisting in museums to wind farms and a host of other situations, rope access is a technique for using a two rope system to gain easier and safer access to hard to reach positions at height. Certified rope access technicians hold the safest record by a significant margin as compared to other industries at height.

We recently completed another advanced class with some of our emergency responder clients and wanted to share some footage. This was filmed in Leadville, CO and machines included the Hagglunds BV 206's and a Tucker 1600 series snow cat. The training lasted over two days and included night operations. Stairway to Safety - Climbing to the top of a 1700 foot tall tower to change a light bulb
มุมมอง 2.4M12 ปีที่แล้ว
We made this video for all of the climbers in the tower industry who believe in safety. Nick Bassarab and Todd Horning from Safety One Training Inc. climb to the top of a 1700 foot tall tower to change a couple light bulbs while using 100% attachment the whole time. www.safetyoneinc.com for more information on safe climbing and work at height practices. This video was made in response to the or...
"Now where is that wrench? I'm sure it was in the bag"....
I wouldn't care if there was a blank check signed by elon musk at the top........NO WAYYYY
And I thought standing on a chair in the kitchen to change the bulb was high!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice thing about this height is one has time to think about how they screwed up before they hit the ground. My hands are beat from arthritis and I drop small things so I'm more topside support or ground crew these days. It's great work for young people and I'd recommend it.
Great video! God bless y'all for what you do and for being as safe as you can while doing it. I just watched part of a video about free climbing a broadcast tower. Not impressed that no safety equipment was used and I didn't give it a Like because I don't want to encourage that. No excuse for not using some kind of safety line although I still appreciate the work he did.
I think as a backup maybe they should have parachutes.
I like the personal on top camera very much, you can see how much power you need to get up😮
so high
With fiber optic technology way isn’t the light source at the base of the antenna with FO cable running to the top?
Yikes !
Nope.
Whatever these guys are paid..it's NOT enough. "hey Joe, you forgot the bulb, duh"!
I take my hat off to guys like you for have the conkers to dare do that, haha. I am not scared of heights so long as I feel safe, but I know I would not feel safe relying on a rope and my own arms and legs to stop me falling. That's one hell of a lightbulb change. I imagine with LED bulbs that you no longer have to do this so often?
This looks like the trans tower at Walnut Grove CA.
I have a question when those towers are being assembled how in the hell do you all get all the stuff that high without a crane , is it rigging and manual labor ????
After watching the movie FALL, this looks like a walk in the park! 😂
Screw the light, leave it. 😰
Thanks for posting! I love the music, too! This is like an action video for me. Lots of respect for the people who do this work.
My anus went into spasm watching this video 😱respect..
Would be a BUGGER if you forgot the lightbulb going up their long way DOWN
the music is annoying
It is head rush music
I could only do one of those tower climbs a month. It would take that long to get my bum hole unclenched so I could take a dump !
Human beings are incredible.
This is in California
safety is for the weak
Not today
I wonder how much it cost to change that bulb.🤔
I presume these have now been changed to LED bulbs?
This seems like the perfect job for a robot. Here go change that light.
It’s not the height that bothers me as much as falling and the sudden impact.
It’s not the height that bothers me it’s the falling and the sudden impact I can do without out.
my clumsy ass could not work here 1 slip or misjudge and you are gone
This looks like its the KEBR FM Tower located in Walnut Grove Ca. I could be wrong though.
Respect for these guy's, and the crews that put these towers together ❤
4:08 the video cuts away when he's about to pull his harness over all that rusted metal.
Big respect to these workers.
The same 500 Meter Height Building
Where can i find this work?
Always some lame music background
Safety First. OSHA wasn't created as a suggestion. I like these guys y'all have a very positive message.
Are they given parachutes?
What do you do when you have to take a dump really urgently?
They weren’t even actually clipped in on the way to the top
Every climber should use a buck strap.
1700’, starts with 1600’ elevator ride to the top. “Free climbing is a misrepresentation of the industry.”Don’t be a pussy. Leave your purse on the ground when climb and you will be just fine. If you can’t climb without your purse, you have no business up on that tower. Facts.
Getting up would be relatively chill. It’s the coming down part that I would not like. I’d honestly prefer to base jump off even though you can’t even remotely do that.
The shot of the climber on top looking down is very unsettling to me.
That’s a bad ass job
How do you get a job like this
Whenever I watch these, it always feels like my dick is going to fall off
