NAVY HYMN: Eternal Father, Strong To Save
Eternal Father Strong To Save is also known as the Navy Hymn. The Navy Band and Sea Chanters did an outstanding version of the song and I added some relevant pictures to go with the music and singing. There are many versions of the lyrics for this hymn. See this Navy History and Heritage website for other versions. www.history.navy.mil/browse-by-topic/heritage/customs-and-traditions0/the-navy-hymn1.html. From that site: "The song known to United States Navy men and women as the "Navy Hymn," is a musical benediction that long has had a special appeal to seafaring men, particularly in the American Navy and the royal navies of the British Commonwealth and which, in more recent years, has become a part of French naval tradition."

awesome information!
awesome information!
Shame when we lost 745 to that O2 fire.
Has to be the scariest place to fly
Monuments like this are always disappointing. For example, not saying it’s so in this case…. But you go see it, and find out it actually happened like 4 miles away. Liberty bell…. Isn’t actually how it was. It was re forged or something. Don’t even get me started on Plymouth Rock! Grow up my whole childhood hearing about this great rock the pilgrims landed at….. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed.
My old friends jet is there. An A4 Skyhawk. It’s got his name on it. His call sign was Maverick. His name is R. Bryon Fuller. He joined as an enlisted man and retired an admiral.
Very nice!
Thanks for the visit
This is an awesome collection of quilts. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Reminds me of home!!
I served in 2 different squadrons with Rob and flew with him in both, VP-5 and VXE-6.
Hi John. Two great squadrons (VP-5 P-3Cs and VXE-6 LC-130s) and it was a pleasure to serve with you. This video was from 2016. I did a new one earlier this year with some more details: USN FLYING IN ANTARCTICA AND PENGUINS
20 out of 25. Not to shabby, threw me off with the Trainer aircraft and I mixed up F-22 with F-35
Some of us had to basically threaten some people to get to the Pole...I finally went on 29 OCT 91 on XD-04...4th aircraft that we tried that day (LONG day). That aircraft had already been to NPX that day, and wouldn't you know it, that was officially the very first all female crew to do that mission with VXE-6...(they didn't break their plane!) So long ago...but I remember it like it was yesterday. Cheers!! - AG1 Greg Albert COMNAVSUPFOR ANTARCTICA OPERATION DEEP FREEZE 36th Winter Over Crew 1990-91
20 for 20
Question 16 actually has 2 correct answers VMF-214 started with the F4F Wildcat but very quickly transitioned into the F4U Corsair. They were equipped with the Wildcat for a about a month due to a production delay on the Corsair. This little fact has been overlooked by almost every historian to write about the squadron.

Crap, I missed one.
Didn't do too bad, 37/40 combined score, parts 1 & 2... fun videos. AMS3 USN 1980-'83 active, '83-'85 reserve: VF-124 NAMTRADET, VF-111 Sundowners, VF-301 Devil's Disciples (USNR), NAS Cubi Point (USNR).
Very good job only missing 3 out of 40 on the 2 quizzes. Thanks for looking at them.

Good job. With plenty of time for slow readers like me to try get them right.
Robert, this was very interesting
Beautiful barn quilts and background music. Is the music original?
Aunt Elinor - this is great ! Is this what you would call "getting away from it all?"
Thank you King, great presentation.
Incomplete video without pics of Sluggo , Zippy, Goober, or Dirty Harry
You are right that more pictures of the Puckered Penguins like Zippy, Sluggo, Goober, Dirty Harry, Popeye, "The Rage"...would have made the video more complete. Hope you are all doing well.
i really enjoyed this, very interesting ( King Tutt)
King, I'm going through this and the other sites you mentioned to learn more, as there's so much we never hear about. Congrats on the cape named for you. You're tough. Thanks for the info.
