My name is Maureen and I am a part-time traveller, hiker & polyglot from Scotland, now living in the north of England.

Exploring Seville | Spain's Timeless Beauty and Cultural Heart | Andalucia | Solo Travel
I spent a couple of days exploring Seville. It's a fascinating city in Andalucia, southern Spain , known for its rich history, stunning architecture, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, tapas and flamenco!
Although I visited many interesting places, there will be more to discover on my next visit such as various palaces, museums and the Archivo de Indias.

I just found your lovely channel. One of my nephews and I went to Scotland in November 2019 and it was a Paradise to me. We're going to Ireland in December. I would love to semi-retire in Scotland. My DNA is 79% from the British Isles and 20% Scandinavian, so I feel at home there. You have a beautiful voice.
Thank you. Ireland is fabulous too. A few years ago I spent some time in Connemara where my dad's family came from. I am planning to go back to make a video at some point.

Great vid. I love Arran. I'm currently on Rightmove looking at properties on Arran. The prices are steep. I think bank robbery is my only option.
Thank you :). Yes the properties there have always been expensive as it's easy to get to from Glasgow & Ayrshire. The cheaper islands are the less accessible ones such as the smaller Orkney & Shetland islands.

Wonderful, wish you the best.......Perhaps you can consider the island of Kythera and its even more remote partner Antikythera as 2 more islands to explore if you havent already done so. You can get there from Gytheio in the Southern Pelopponese--and if in that area of the Pelopponese I can recommend Monemvasia, Kardamyli, Plytra, Elafonisos (a bit off season if possible). Mystras is also an impressive UNESCO site featuring a complex of Byzantine churches if around Kalamata.

You can omit the ‘lake’ in ‘Grasmere lake’ as ‘mere’ is old English for lake or pond. Stunning part of the world.
@@AwakeEternally Hi, yes I knew that but decided to leave it in as I thought non-locals might be confused with the lake & village having the same name :). Interesting that the German word for sea is "Meer" and lake is "See" so that's where the Old English will come from.
I lived in Langdale for a time and it used to make me cringe when people called it Langdale ‘valley’ 😂

@@Spankerdig1 I don't think so. I was all over the island & it's mostly empty apart from the 2 villages. I think Kos has a refugee processing centre & the bigger islands are much better equipped for that.

I love Tilos! It should be said that at night Mikro Chorio is a bar! You can take a shuttle from town after 11 pm and have cocktails in the lit up ruins <3
@@kerimccomb5404 Yes there is but only for a few weeks a year. Sadly it wasn't open in June when we were there. I have a separate full video on Tilos where I mention it.

@@bilingualbackpacker I thought I was detecting a Scottish accent, but I wasn't sure because I kept noticing hints of Irish. However, I didn't detect any Lancashire accent, as I am a Yorkshire man, born and bred.
