We are Derek and Michelle. In 2020 we left city life and moved out to the country. Our home is set on 1.5 acres and it needed a lot of work. Since then we have been on a journey of transformation, turning our home into an oasis, with a sustainable garden and room to entertain our family and friends.
We have learned an incredible amount from our successes and even more from our failures. That is our goal to learn, grow, create and hopefully inspire on our way. This is our Bog Life!

How to Replace Dryer Ducts and Vent // Bog Life
After attempting to clean out the dryer ducts before winter, we discovered a critical problem. The duct was not attached to the outside of the house and the vent was propped open. So the we were venting into the house and pests were getting into the house.

👍🏿 nice, thank you for this I definitely feel confident doing this in my new apartment!
GREAT video, just finished my first 1 😬
It doesn't work
@@joeortega5567 you’re right I have a follow up video with a system that does work. One N Done!
What kind of hand (?) vacuum you got there?
Wow! You guys really know what you're doing. Thank you this was great
Is that a tilt trailer ( what I have ) if so how do you do the wire for when you tilt the bed for loading > one way they be to lose and grag off or short and break when you tilt it ?
@@stevebrown3408 there’s a tube underneath the trailer specifically for running the wires
Good video, put mine on a trailer yesterday, but couldn't get marker lights to work, after watching your video ,I think I c what I did wrong....
Thanks man, nice video.
That same gasket failed within a year, and back to wax; we go!
@@FacelessSoulessHumanity I had the same failure and upgraded to one N done wax free flange and it’s works perfectly. I have another video about that. I highly recommend it!
Why you did not flush to empty tank? And could use half a bucket of water to drain the water in the bowl instead of using that sponge
Really like your garden fence and gate, but we have a problem with rabbits. Need to use fencing that won’t allow rabbits to go through or under. Keeping the rabbits from going under the fencing is easy enough, but Haven’t found an example of how to prevent rabbits going under the gate. Also have a hose link, very nice quality.
It's nice, but way too expensive. You can get a Husky or Kobalt one for $15.00
Used it yesterday. Leak is gone.
Glad you posted. Great video. We are thinking about purchasing a hoselink. I didn't realize how easy it is to put up. Thank you.
I've used both this and the Korky seal. Neither of them lasted as long as the wax seal that was used before them. I even used the Danco one and it lasted for a little while before there was a little leak around the base of the toilet. I installed a wax ring a few weeks back and so far no leaks.
Weird, I also keep my seeds in there too. I only store my freedom seeds like this though.
You need to spray the bottom side of the leaves.
Great video, followed the steps in the exact order and got the fan working like new again!
I've just spent 6 hours trying to get expanding foam off of my thumbs. I would cry if I had that much on my arm.
Thanks for posting you saved me so much money
"Better than wax" is garbage. As a plumber, 90 percent of the time I go to a call where the customer is complaining of smell near the toilet , this is the culprit
@@johnrmhowe1 that us what happened to me, about 6 months later. I then installed One and Done toilet Flange kit, it’s also wax free. It works significantly better and is easier to install.
You did wrap the PTFE tape in the direction of the thread👍 People, always wrap PTFE in the direction of tightening up your nuts (😉) to prevent unwinding the tape. Good, clear, straightforward, informative video for novices! Also, thankfully without the usual time wasting waffle of many videos. Nice one👍 Also, when pushing pipe through holes (especially long ones) new pipes sometimes come capped off with a plastic cap, if not, run some sellotape/electricians/masking tape over the hole to close it, to prevent the pipe from picking up cr4p/dirt etc which may cause blockages or flow restrictions in your system. Your 2nd attempt had sawdust all over that blue gunk, so the open pipe end would have some sawdust inside. You DID wipe inside with your finger, but you didn't warn novices of this (so I'm saving you modifying your video).
@@alexmanojlovic768 you caught me….i figured it out and had a drip and then fixed it (without video) that’s why I referenced verbally how to wrap it.
@@BogLife Sorry, yes you did! 2am here, couldn't sleep. Don't know why I thought you wrapped it the other way round, & yes, you did mention it. I've edited out my error. Surprised you only have 6 likes, you clearly know what you're doing & make your vids to educate, not attention seeking like a lot of the time wasting dross on the web. Hope your audience base grows accordingly.
@@alexmanojlovic768 thank you very much! I figure if I’m struggling or having trouble some else is too. So if I can help save time I will and the videos are fun to make.
great job , looks good too
What did you add to the soil before planting the Pachysandra?
@@cclancy1677 Biotone starter fertilizer…and that’s it
Thank you!
White cow panels? Functional or decorative? Varmints?
Worked like a champ. Great thx.🙏
The 5852-7F12-J604 pump that H20 Distributors, etc sell is not what anyone wants to use. It is ridiculously loud. The 5851-7E12-J574 model you install here is orders of magnitude quieter, good enough for the application (pumping up from the basement to kitchen,) and half the price. I know because unfortunately I bought and installed both with our new system. Commenting here because the Aquatec website is horrible and support is non-existent.
Instead of the metal bracket, just use the pieces you cut off the sides of the seat at the beginning. One to make elevation blocks on either side of the back, and the and the other, sanded dowd in the center for clearance, to span those blocks. Fasten this bracket high enough on the back so that the bottom edges all line up when stored.
@@richturck259 that is a good idea and would cut back on the waist. Thank you.
The problem with cattle panels is that if you use it like this racoons, wood chucks and all semi large critters can go right through the hole. I recommend deer fencing the holes are small and th wire strong.
@@ameriicanprepper5813 it’s funny you said woodchucks, we HAD an issue with them, but the beds are so high they didn’t get into anything. Raccoons can climb no matter what, so size won’t matter in the end they’ll get in. You’d have to run the gate strait to the ground and it would have to be the same size as fence.
God ! 2:30am because can’t stand to the noise cleaned the fan 😢😢😢😢 ah …..terrible Night! Thank you for your video, really helpful ❤❤
Looking to do exactly this. Thank you for sharing!!!
I LOVE the handle idea. Just brilliant! Well done!
I hate the way he screws. Drill firmly and consistently until you reach the end
Beautiful! Now I have to go find your video of the gate build.
Those came out so great bro. I am currently in process of making a set as well. Thanks for the awesome video
Good job Interesting u used a single edge razor blade vs a retractable most of us carry Ty
Nice job. Thanks. Please check out : 12LB Black Iron T Post Pole Pounder 23.6 inches long
Please keep sharing. We need goals. Thank you.
It wouldn’t hurt using the riser would it ? Inquiring minds want to know .
I really appreciate how much detail you capture with the camera. It's extremely helpful to see the small details of the process, like properly threading the wire and thimbles.
Hello , should the pvc flange be below the tile or should it be on top of tile . Thank you
The flange should be on top of the tile.
dude, thanks for this. very halpful
What’s the cost for the maple?🙏
@@quanlk2570 About $180
awesome harvest ,
Good job man 👏👍❤️🙂
Those wire strippers has wire crimpers on them
This is a very helpful video. I too have a trailer from TS that needs new lights. It looks like this Kenway light kit it going to do nicely. Thanks for such a clear and straight forward DIY video.
and instead to make a field table? Is there any feasible and philological model?
Nice. Not having a trailer I built a 16 foot rack with 2 by 4s to go on my car's roof rack. It enabled me to flat carry the 16 foot cattle panels without anything bending.
@@NurseAcrobat awesome!
Are those wood chips on the ground in your garden? I tried to do the same thing with mulch but so far not so good lol
@@jmwasp no it is pea gravel, with weed barrier underneath. I still have to weed and pull random tomato plant starting in the gravel, but it works great! If I were to do it again I would use a road gravel and compact it.
Do NOT do this. The pesticides on store bought lemons are bad, mmmkay. Get the lemons from yourtree, a friend or make another ‘cello. Or drink gasoline, I don’t care.
@@MrPatrickRey there are always better ways to talk to people or send messages. This fell short in the politeness category. But anyway… I wash my fruit first and then use it.
