As a former early childhood educator, the first year is filled with a lot of sick days, even for new teachers. Since I've stopped working as an educator, I've gotten sick exponentially less than when I worked as a toddler teacher. Children are incubators for germs, and many parents send sick children to daycare/school which contributes to an unending cycle. In addition, children put everything in their mouths and have poor preventive skills like covering their mouths or noses when they cough or sneeze, using tissues improperly, digging their noses, and washing hands improperly. Nonetheless, it's good for their immune systems as it introduces them to new germs that their bodies can gradually build up immunity against over the course of their childcare/school journey. In my opinion, early childhood education centers are better than daycares since their structure is a combination of daycare and school. I pray Kaida has a blessed experience!
