Ah. That was pretty much my fear. I avoided it by buying a very cheap almost fully prebuilt van. It will last me as long as it will. I will then see if I even like vans 😁 You were on your third van? Must be different for you as you already know what you want. Good luck going forward 💪😊

That crash was shocking and unexpected. Thankfully it seems like you both were physically unscathed. Well done for starting again. (Ironically just stopped watching a van life click bait video entitled ‘breaking point’ where the people just had a few things go wrong, nothing like what happened to you guys.)

Not sure what country you were in when this happened, but I hope that the driver who caused the accident was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

You can always replace a van, your lives are more precious than that. Take the positive energy from that incident and grow from it. If that had been a truck that hit you! things would have been very different. I would say you two are very lucky to still have each other.

Solve one big problem by having Pros build the van. And then cover it with phenominal insurance. The rest is life as we endeavor to live it.

Wow. By looking at your accident I saw our accident repeating itself several times in my mind, leaving me shocked again. A few months ago, a guy on the opposite lane fell asleep and caused the same to our camper as in your case, than another one came from the back and crashed in our vehicle from behind. The result is a total loss. As the accident happened in Albania, the insurances are offering peanuts as damage compensation to us. However, as you did, we also decided we are not giving up and got another camper. Our first trip with it is planned in december, a few weeks from now. Hopefully, nightmares will then stop. So Thankful you weren't hurt. My sister and I was in a wreck going to her sons and totaled the car but no one hurt but what a mess being out of state when this happened. Made it back home and she's got another car and life goes on. :)
