My favorite food place overall is Kuala Lumpur. But my most memorable food place was Querétaro Mexico. I flew first class Emirates and did not know they had massages in the lounge. But the first class lounge experience was amazing. I have not stayed at any luxury hotels yet. We’ll see what the future holds for me. I love this show. I was unplugged for a week on a nice cruise so I missed this until now. But as always I love your videos. I am sad that I won’t be able to make the meetup. Another time
We believe you WILL have luxury hotel stays in your future! We hope you had a wonderful time on your cruise. Thank you for catching up with us after your trip and we hope to see you at a meetup in the future!
Thanks for the info + video!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
Great overview!!! Caveat first, personal thoughts on Marriott knowing there definite outliers which I have personally stayed at. Hyatt has the best program, Hilton has the best cards but Marriott overall has my favorite properties. I have had phenomenal stays at both Hilton and Hyatt so this is more of a generalization.
Hello! Please share with us some of your favorite Marriott properties!
@ one of the most fun trips was to the Royalton Riviera Cancun, an Autograph Collection. There were about 11 of us ranging from kids to grandparents and the property had everything from the big kids water slides, lazy river, outdoor ice cream shop to the outdoor shows and all were a lot of fun!! I always jokingly say when I travel with kids I feel like Russel Crowe in Gladiator… “are you not entertained”. I can go to the nicest most luxurious hotel in the world and if the kids are bored no one will have a good time and they definitely had a ton of fun.
It sounds like you found the perfect vacation formula: fun for the kids + relaxation for the adults = happy family, just minus the lions and tigers! Thank you for sharing about this property! We need to check it out.
I just stayed at the new St. Regis in chicago. 52k points a night, sooo worth it. St. Regis is much better than ritz carlton. The rooms are much cheaper in winter than summer. But 52k points is a good deal for a St. regis
What a great deal! Did you get to enjoy the St Regis butler service?
@ no butler service, since its a newer hotel no tea or coffee service available. No packing or unpacking available either. Not sure what else i would use the butler service for. Any recommendations?
Reservations, dining and tour recommendations, draw a bubble bath….
Yep. Ritz Carlton is a bit oldish. Stayed at the one in New Orleans. However, service was amazing
Thanks for sharing your experience! The service really can make all the difference in a stay.
Can you guys make a video about rental car experience and tips?
We will add it to the list. Thank you for the suggestion.
Thumbs up, Marriott would not be my first choice, some are owned by third party, been told on few occasions to book directly with property instead of online to get better rate... I have gold status from my Amex Platinum card but the FHR gives me a lot of the benefits that higher status offers
Amex FHR benefits and you're basically a VIP in the hotel world! That's a great way to book!
Ritz/Boundless/Brillant/Bonvoy Biz…4 nights each year (2 85K & 2 35K)
That's a nice stash of free night certs! Let us know which properties you like to redeem those certs at!
Haven't stayed at too many Marriotts but so far no bad experiences. Our favorite is Le Meridien Maldives (truly amazing service). Would love to try St Regis Bora Bora or a St Regis somewhere.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Le Meridien Maldives! We're glad to hear you had amazing service. We are sure you will get to enjoy St. Regis and their butler service somewhere one day!
Fantastic show! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Since Nicole started the show with a Hyatt mention, I will do so in the comments section. I would rather stay at a Marriott location and probably IHG before I even consider a Hyatt. I’ve stayed at the Ritz Carlton Okinawa and it’s a luxury location. Had a pleasant stay and would stay there again for a date night with my wife (excellent spa btw); kinda pricey but worth it. I mainly stay at Marriott’s for business when I travel opting for Fairfield’s or Residence Inn as the CSR has 10% cash back offers all the time for those properties. Not a popular option but I transfer my points to United all the time as I don’t have a need for them in Marriott. I hold the United Club card so I get 15% off my domestic award travel on top of reaching United Gold this year in the next 2 weeks. Kyoto trip for the family and I for Thanksgiving and a business trip to NOLA the week after. Phenomenal show as always.
Hi Carlos! We should have you on the show to duke it out with Nicole about Hyatt. We might even pay to watch that! Have a wonderful time in Kyoto with your family! Spoiler: in two weeks, we have an episode you might like. 😉
@@LetsGetToThePoints I would love to but that would constitute me staying up to match ya'lls time zone; I currently reside in Japan...lol
another great episode!
Thank you for watching!!! 🥰
Serena, I was so excited to hear y'all be in VN next year but sadly, it's not the same time we will be there. Summer in Asia?!!🥵
What are we thinking? Summer in Doha last year and next year summer in Asia? Nicole needs a career change.
I’m watching you guys from Fiji fighting the jet lag, it’s real. Although I’m at a Crowne Plaza not a Marriott and I got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite.
NICE upgrade!!! Let us know how you like that property. Momi Bay is the popular Marriott property there. Can you go and let us know if the lagoon water is dirty? That’s what we hear! 🤢
Momi Bay is far away, 1 hour from the airport, I’m staying only 10 mins from the airport. Although it’s not on the beach and it’s a rough part of town but IHG has done a really good job renovating this property and there are several buildings still being built here.
Oh dear…rough part of town!
@ it’s called Gentrification! There are a number of new resorts being built nearby and a new high end mall. In about 3 years, this will be the place to be.
Cleveland stand up!!!! LOL!!!
I was actually thinking about staying at the downtown Cleveland one in January for my b-day
Yes!!! Treat yourself!!! 🥳
I like the Ritz card for the $300 airline credit.
We love that benefit and very easy to use too! 🎉
Are you telling me I went to the Andaz in Maui and missed out on their snacks because I was under the impression they’d charge me for it? Now im mad 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh no!!!!! The front desk should have done a better job explaining that to you when you checked in. Sad Day!!!😭
Awesome episode. During my time in the military, I deployed to Qatar a couple of times and we always said "Cutter." 😂
Wow! Maybe THAT’S where the Cutter pronunciation comes from!
And thank you for serving our country. 🫡
@@LetsGetToThePoints 🙏🏾
WOW & WOW! Great deep dive into the Marriott program! First off, I was already laughing at only 13 seconds into this episode! I love to start my Friday off with you guys! 😂 I need help. I have the Chase Bonvoy Boundless. It was my 1st travel card when I decided to start this miles and points journey in Aug 2023. I got it only because they were the 1st to send me an offer with a SUB. Today, I am at 23 stays. Should I book 2 more stays to reach Gold status by the end of the year, or reach out to Marriott to upgrade to the Ritz-Carlton card now. OR, don't worry about reaching Gold Status now and just upgrade to the Ritz-Carlton card in January 2025? Thanks LGTTP Dream Team, you guys are the GOAT to me!
Thank you for sharing your Friday mornings with us, Phyllis! We don’t think you need to go out of your way for the extra 2 nights. Especially when there are lots of cards that give Gold status with annual fees cheaper than what you might spend on those 2 nights. Let us know where you plan to use your 85k cert from the Ritz card!
@@LetsGetToThePoints 🤔 I'm open to suggestions!
I just upgraded to the RC. If you upgrade before the end of 2024, you’ll receive the $300 airline credit for the remainder of 2024 and another $300 airline credit for 2025.
Great tip, Vincent! Thank you!
@@VincentPascualThanks for the tip Vincent! I'm going to do that! 👍
Great episode and review of the Bonvoy Marriott program! I hold the Brilliant and I’ll be staying at the NEW Ritz-Carlton Bangkok this summer 2025!
We are SO jealous! Please report back and let us know how your stay goes.
One of my first real jobs was as a Front Desk Supervisor at Marriott, where I’d take full advantage of my discount across many many properties (the discounts were HUGE)! While those days are behind me, I’m definitely team HYATT now. That said, I do plan on dabbling into some of the 5-night free cards to expand my footprint when traveling.
Hi RJ! It sounds like you had a front-row seat to the hotel world. Let us know what Marriott properties you would want to use your 5 free nights at!
For Greece, you can book flights for Aegean Airlines through Air Canada Aeroplan because it’s part of Star Alliance
You are absolutely right! However, not all dates are available and they are definitely not available for Serena’s dates as of now.
I miss the old SPG days but since I’m already 8/10 years into earning lifetime platinum, I figured I need to finish that milestone before I jump over to Hyatt. With my luck, Hyatt will have moved to dynamic pricing by then 😩 I feel like I’m forever a step or two behind.. just like when I got the CSR card in June and the restaurant credit went away in July 😭 Thanks for the comprehensive overview. I love how much research you guys put into these episodes. Can’t wait to see what’s next 🎉
You’re not alone, we’re all a step or two behind in one aspect or another because there are so many nooks and crannies in this hobby.
I will be in Bangkok soon. I need to check that out Can my son use the platinum lounges with me?
Hi! Do you mean the lounges at the hotels? Access should be good for the elite member and whoever is booked in the room.
Nicole, how did you get the seats.aero cup? 😃
The company kindly offered it to us.🥤
We’ve stayed at RC Laguna Niguel and RC Half Moon Bay with the 85k Marriott certificate.
Half Moon Bay is a popular one! What’s your assessment? Old money, new money, somewhere in between?
We stayed at the St. Regis in Deer Valley, Utah and it was wonderful. They do the same champagne toast Miguel mentioned and they also do a daily make your own S’mores cart around the outdoor fireplace
Hi! Sounds wonderful! The sabering is a St Regis tradition that’s not to be missed. We bet they had fancy chocolate on the S’mores cart. None of that Hersheys stuff, right?
@@LetsGetToThePoints Haha, yes, and with the backdrop of the beautiful mountains, the toast was an experience. I had to go back in my photos to confirm on the chocolate, and it looks like all of the ingredients were actually unwrapped and placed in bowls along with the skewers. Guests at a St. Regis can't be bothered with having to unwrap their chocolate, come on now.
Of course they can't be bothered!!! Unwrapped = SO fancy!
FIRST!!! 4am it is (fact check) 😂😂😂
YOU ARE FIRST!!!! Fact checked! ✅ Looking forward to seeing you and P2 at the meetup.
Finally Signed uo for seat.aero i was planning on doing it next month I'm a sucker for a deal even if its marginal :)
Can the snorkeling equipment be rented out at the resort?
Snorkeling equipment is free to borrow!!! 🎉
This is a great video. I currently have a SW personal card from awhile back. I have CP thru 12/2025 from 2 business card approvals in 2024. My P2 can’t apply. So question is: How can I strategize to re-qualify for CP in 2026? 😊 Thanks
Hello! If P2 can't apply, your best bet is to wait for a promotional offer from Southwest. They often run promos at least once a year that offer CP with one card or by flying 2 segments. We will announce promos like this in our newsletter.
I'm new to the Hyatt awards program as I just snatched up that 5 Free night SUB with Hyatt, this was the second video of yours I watched. New subscriber here and down the rabbit hole I go!! For my 5 free nights, I was thinking about Hyatt Centrics in Dublin and then one in Scotland, SCHLOSS Roxburghe both are level 4 hotels. Splitting the nights up and maybe adding on a night or two at the Mr. & Mrs. Smith in Dublin. Which will get me 3 out of the 5 brands in one trip, plus the Hyatt place stay I have next month will give me 4 of the 5!! I didn't even know that was a thing!! Has anyone stayed at any of the Hyatt's mentioned? Good? Bad? Meh?
Thank you so much for subscribing! We're thrilled to hear you're diving into the Hyatt awards program. Your plans sound amazing, and we can’t wait to hear how it goes! We have not stayed at those particular hotels but there are multiple Hyatt Facebook groups that have multiple reviews on many different properties. You might find some helpful reviews there!
Love to watch your guys' show. Wish your guys come to Atlanta one day
Maybe one day! We will add that to the meetup list!
Calgary Alberta Canada you have to try the Brazilian steak houses there absolutely delightful
Great tip! Thank you! Adding this to our list.
Mitch thank you so much for informing me about those unique marriot properties. I don’t hear too many people talking about these properties and to hear all those amazing activities are included is amazing! Great episode guys!
Thank you for your kind words, Cheew! We're glad you enjoyed the episode and found the unique Marriott properties intriguing. There are definitely some hidden gems out there!
this channel is the best. i am also waiting for the next video. weekly❤
Thank you so much 😀
Wow! Thanks for this episode!! Just saved it to watch again later and many times over. I am new to points and miles but do tend to fly AA more often due to the convenience and availability of flights from my home airport. The tip about the repositioning flight was huge for me! I'm not at a hub, but Dallas is often one of my layover stop options from New Orleans/Baton Rouge airports. SO, they fly there regularly. This may have just saved me lots of headache. Will try to put it to use soon. I'm currently on the hunt for a good SUB to get an AA card.
Hi! Thank you for watching! The Citi Business AA card has a great offer right now with no annual fee in the first year. You can find this card on our website and filter by "Business" and "Citibank". Let us know if you have any problems finding it!
@ thanks but I’m not gonna go down the business card route yet. I was thinking either the Barclays or the Citi personal card. But can I do both for the sign up bonuses? I’m actually trying to get max American miles for a future trip. I didn’t know about Barclays until this video. And don’t know if that’s possible since they are both American co branded cards.
You can absolutely get both!
Another fun episode! My favorite destination food-wise was Malaysia, specifically KL (Kuala Lumpur) which we were able to visit during our SE Asia trip in 2016 (we were able to fly first class on Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong and back as part of that trip). Honorable mention for Peru (Lima and Cusco), which we visited this past September, the Peruvian food was amazing as well. Other food travel favorites: Spain, Italy, South Africa. For 2025, we have been getting some signals to look at Morocco. Nice to see it getting some endorsement here!
Hi Kenny! What a great list. We may be in Kuala Lumpur next year so please send us your food recs!
@@LetsGetToThePoints My favorite dish in KL was Char Kway Teow. Nasi Lemak was nice as well. Enjoy!
Those dishes look delicious! Adding them to our list! Thank you.
Thumbs up 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Chivatos del Coimbra in Montevideo, Uruguay.
It sounds like we must visit!
Can I assume you dress up for your first class experiences?

Hi Carlos! Great list of favorites and some we need to check out for ourselves! We have a short visit to Vietnam next year and now we wish we could spend more time so we can visit Da Nang and Hoi An.
I loved the show. I do have a question about the hotel-sponsored cards. Could you carry a green/gold/platinum and a Hilton Amex?
Thank you for watching! Yes, you can have all of those cards. But to get the welcome offer for each of the green, gold, and platinum cards, you would have to apply in that order.
@@LetsGetToThePoints I'd like to add the Hilton Aspire card. Does this affect the order? Thanks!
Hi Susan. It will not affect the order. For right now, the Hilton cards do not have family language so you can get them in any order among the Hilton or Amex family of cards.
Yay!!! Feeling like a celebrity being mentioned again! So glad to connect my favorite points crew with a great wine brand! Glad you guys made a partnership!🩵
Thank you, Alex!!!
