Data Analyst Project - Presenting Data To Stakeholders | Power BI, SQL & Python
In this episode, we focus on presenting key marketing analytics insights using PowerPoint. This is an important part and an exercise to enhance your data storytelling and presentation skills.
We begin by exporting visualizations and insights from the Power BI dashboard we created in earlier episodes. From there, I'll guide you step by step through the process of creating an effective PowerPoint presentation. You'll learn how to structure your slides, emphasize key findings, and use design elements - skills that are essential for any data analyst.
By the end of this episode, you'll have an understanding of how to communicate your marketing analytics insights to stakeholders through PowerPoint with parts from your dashboard.
This is great for anyone looking to build a strong data analyst portfolio or refine their presentation skills as a data professional.

Hi, I would check the object name (as the error points out) first? It should have the same nam e in the database as in the Script to be able to fetch it through SQL. Ali
Sales on the dashboard is showing 0 for me. I went through the comments and change all the date columns in the table to date format and there’s still no change. What can I do?
Hi, I would check that the relationship is correct and the format on the column is integer? Those are some thoughts top of mind!
@@aliahmad1987 The relationship between which columns? And what columns should be integer?
@@timilehinfalusi4234 I want to help, but no point giving away the answers. Take a look at the data model and think about it logically, which tables has to be connected and verify that. After that ask yourself which column is being summed and if that looks correct. I am sure you will figure it out :)
@@aliahmad1987 I haven't been able to do figure it out. Could I reach out to you privately.
Hİ Ali, ı live in turkey and ı have some questions about data analysis in excel. can you share an email adress please?
hey can you tell me from where you have taken the datasets for the project
@@mankiratsingh8494 Hi, I have created it in Python and SQL Server. Ali
Great explanation 😊 I'd really like to thank you for your efforts it was difficult for me to find such projects especially marketing data analysis ,I 'd like to know if it is possible for me to upload this project to my portfolio after I complete it and thank you.
Hi, Yes - I don't see why not :) You can use it to learn and showcase!
hey ali, can i make this project under the topic digital marketing for my college project??
@Sweetzee-v9q Hi, Yes, sure, why not? If it makes sense and fits in then go for it! Just make sure it isn't considered cheating etc. of course 😎
Hi Ali, Thank you for your great job. I executed the last customer journey query but unfortunately there are still some remaining NULL in the Duration column. For example I filtered Journey ID 1465. That is still NULL. Do you have the same on your side?
Hi Peter, Yes I have the same! There are some customer_journey rows which only has 1 event. When I think about it, a part of the project could have been to handled this also as I see a lot of the events are "Checkout". Could also indicate that they have gone directly to the Check Out page. Either way, an average function over a blank row will return average :) If you want to you can adjust this one: COALESCE(Duration, avg_duration) AS Duration -- Replaces missing durations with the average duration for the corresponding date to COALESCE(Duration, avg_duration, 0) AS Duration -- Replaces missing durations with the average duration for the corresponding date And it will replace the Duration NULL value with a 0, and then you can take it out the measure in Power BI if you want to do an average of that. Does that make sense? Thanks for pointing it out btw and thanks for watching!
Hi Ali, Thank you very much. Sorry for this late reply. Now understand. I will checknit it and try all of them. Thank you again. Peter Thank you!
@@peterkadar7754 You are welcome!
hey Ali, thanks for your tutorial. Do we need to check all tables for duplicate rows like customer_journey table?
You are welcome! No, you don't. The purpose or thought behind is this statement is that you notice it, and then do something about it and I was just using some SQL concepts how to do it practically. An idea, depending on how motivated you are ;) is to still write the statement and use it as a test to see if you can do it, and verify through SQL statement and an output that there aren't any duplicates. In the project I made though, it is only an issue in one table.

Has anyone successfully figured out how to update the budget and sales to reflect for 2023 and 2024? Do I just need to make up my own numbers in the budget excel for those years??
Hi there, Yes - I would just update it like that, by just updating the dates in the spreadsheet with a basic replace on the dates. I'll see if I can do it this weekend as I've thought about it a couple times now. Thanks for watching! Ali

6th Portfolio website name?
Hi, I'm not sure what you mean here? Ali
If you are following this in 2024, make sure the Adventures work you use is the same as told in the first video. If you are using an updtodate version, then your calender dim should have a where clause that states the Calender year IN (2022,2023) and update the budget excel sheet to 2022 and 2023. The latest Adventures work does not really have sales for 2019. It would not look good.

I love your content, especially the recent episode on sentiment analysis with Python. I wanted to suggest a future project idea: integrating Power BI with R Studio for time series and sentiment analysis in marketing. It would be amazing to see how these tools can work together for more dynamic insights. Would you consider sharing such a project on LinkedIn? I think it would be valuable for the community, and I’d love to see more people discover your work. Thanks for considering this!
