So glad we could help!
Yes! Thank you! I need to do this very thing to connect the hem of the three fabric layers above the hem of my mother-of -the-bride dress that I have to shorten. Your demo was perfect.
So helpful! I hadn't even considered the facing. Thank you.
It would be VERY helpful if the pattern pieces shown in videos were clearly marked TOP, BOTTOM, SHOULDER, SIDE, NECKLINE, etc. so new-to-you sewer could familiarize themselves with exactly what area you are making adjustments to (have bought your patterns but am watching these before cutting them out).
Here is a link to the virtual class: fitforartpatterns.thinkific.com/courses/tabula-rasa-jacket
It would be great if there was a direct link from here to the class sign- up, as I couldn't find it on your web site.
There will be a clear link as of Jan 1. I'm afraid this video snuck out a little ahead of schedule!
Excellent! Thank you SO much!
You are SO welcome!
I'm up to the band in making the Jacket. I don't understand the directions for the basic band. Do you have a video that walk you thru the process? I've attached the band to the jacket, but I don't understand what to do afterwards. Thanks much
Please take a look at the blog post Neat Front Band Finishes which walks through the basic band process with step-by-step photos. You will find it in our blog archive at this link. fitforartpatterns.com/2023/03/28/neat-finishes-for-front-bands/
Thank you. Yes found it and completed the band. Those were great instructions. @@FitforArtPatterns
So glad I found you. I have been sewing for over 40 years and I love fixing the details 😊

Thanks for doing this video. Just a little extra of the fun class for ASG in Charlottesville on Dec 3rd. You and Carrie are always such an inspiration.
Is this what I need to do if I just need to increase the bust dart on a bodice pattern that has a dart?
Thanks for creating this pattern and your creative ideas videos.
Great video, easy to follow. I'm going to give it a try.
This works real well.
So glad it helped you. Be sure to check out our other fitting videos!
That’s so easy. Thank you.
The jackets are stunning. Absolutely gorgeous designs
You say you're adding 1/2" to the sleeve cap "as we have determined" How did you determine the amount to be added?
When a customer has had an in person fitting with us at an Expo or other public event, we give them written fitting adjustment recommendations. If you don't have that to go by and the sleeve is twisting, release the sleeve head in your mock-up and let it settle so that you can see how much height is required. See "Sleeve Twist" in our online pdf Common Fitting Adjustments for the Tabula Rasa Jacket.
What happens when you need an inch and three quarters adjustment because it worked over a desk for 35 years
This is very good, but are there maximum adjustments? Is 1-5/8" rounded back adjustment too much? I guess I'll find out...
That would be a very large adjustment. We'd suggest starting with no more than an inch in a muslin that you could then use to add more if still needed as illustrated on page 3 of our Common Fitting Adjustments for the Tabula Rasa Jacket.
Lutfen turkce anlatim
I wish to inform this site:- The jacket with the material of the print of the Woman standing enveloped in a circle of roses, is a religious symbol. I will explain why...This is one of the Most Sacred image of the Mother of God, which is venerated in the Roman Catholic Church. The history of this image is profound:- The Mother of God, appeared 1531 to a Mexican peasant, with a request, that a Shrine be built to venerate her image. The image was revealed to him miraculously. This image appeared on the inside of his cloak which the local people wear, called a "mantilla". Since then this cloak/mantilla with the image is being venerated in the all the RCC churches of the world. The original image is located in the Shrine which has been built, called the Basilica of Guadalupe, Mexico . In the RCC such images are venerated and only placed, in sacred places of worship, such as churches. I now ask the lady to use her conscious with regard to what l have explained.
It would be good to see what fit problem you are trying to solve. Was it pulling vertically?
Yes, typically you will see vertical drag lines or twisting in the sleeve.
I would love this jacket with mother Mary is it available?
Good Fit video. Thank you for the demonstration
Thankyou for demonstrating this technique. It was easy to follow and you explained it clearly. Very helpful
The turquoise and black vest was some kinda Shazam!

Thank you Jeanette! I hope you have found your way to our website fitforartpatterns.com and are receiving our weekly blog posts in your email!
I've done the Tabula Rasa jacket. It is easier to make no matter what embellishments you use, because the sleeves are the hardest part of any jacket, and the lining is quite a bit easier than a traditional lined jacket. I'll be making Tabula Rasa jackets from now on ....love that pattern now that I've fitted it to myself....35 years sewing and still going!! ☀🌺👏🌹👏👏👏
Can anyone explain how to make adjustments for full buttocks and large thighs? I need to make custom trousers for a granddaughter.
