Jeremy Vandiver: Maybe it was just that one particular store. I have never seen or heard of any of the problems that you just mentioned at my local Ollie's store. Sometimes it is just certain stores. For example: In my town the fast food restaurants on the South side of town tend to get workers that don't care about their job at all, and they act like it and they behave like it, but if you go to a fast food restaurant on the North side of town you get much better service and they dress and act professional. Did you ever think about calling up corporate and asking them for a transfer to another Ollie's store? That may of solved everything for you.

They do not schedule people. Every time I ask for my schedule they will refuse to tell me my schedule and will not schedule me on the job app. I wanted to work but they don't want me to schedule me. Co-workers are nice but supervisors are rude every time I ask a question

My last shopping experience at Ollie's was terrible. Staff was very rude, with bad attitudes, long lines. Good bargains though, around the holidays..Your a stand up guy.....

WOW!! We just had a grand opening in our town this past month! We didn't have one anywhere in our area. I have only heard of Ollie's on social media.

We stayed here in 2021 and had THE SAME EXPERIENCES AS YOU!!! Footsteps and all! Nothing sat on our bed, but my husband had sleep paralysis for the first time ever and woke up screaming. Said he saw figures at the end of our bed.

Ollies is a discount outlet. Their priority is selling discounted and discontinued merchandise. Everything else takes a back seat. No different than a Dollar Tree, Big Lots or a Sav-A-Lot.

I know you have to make money but I'd rather deal drugs than go into retail

I've been discriminated at my local Ollie's for still wearing a mask 😂 I was went back and confront it a man for saying something underneath his breath. If they would only ask why I still wear my mask I would gladly tell them. It never fails it always happens at Ollie's

Jeremy, I commend you for your heroism. standing up for what you knew was not right; standing up for other people's feelings in the workplace. We never get too old to have new experiences with ppl who make us say, "Is this really happening right now?" She apparently was sadly, an alcoholic who could not function without a drink and it was looked over many times. There's no telling what else was going on between her and the male behind the desk, that you went to talk to. (ijs). Best of luck with all over your career endeavors. Okay so you made some mistakes. One, focus on your work and screw everything else. Second unless what the manager says is affecting you directly, there's no reason to be an activist. Let the people that it affects go after her. There's no reason for you to get involved in a situation that has no bearing on you or your job. That might be an unpopular opinion, but in this economy you have to focus on you and make sure that you're able to pay your bills. That word is going to have no bearing on you and your own bills. 3 in a discussion there's a way to be professional and firm and say the right words without actually using curse words because that can come and get you bitten in the ass real quick. Four.. put your head down, work and move forward.

I know this is off topic. I never worked for Ollie's and never would, but I did go to my local Ollie's store just one time right after their inauguration opening and I must say I was utterly unimpressed and left without buying anything... after that I lost much interest in shopping there, but trying again wasn't out of the question. However, after being constantly bombarded with their horrible and annoying commercials, there is no doubt I NEVER intend to try to shop at an Ollie's store ever again! Their overly agressive advertising strategy and moronic commercials had exactly the opposite effect on me and guaranteed only that I will stay away from doing any business with them at all, lol.

I thought you were gonna give us inside scoop like when the trucks drop off deliveries, when to come in best time to see new stock on shelves, etc..

I can tell you have never worked in retail . We work hard everyday and deal with people who talk back to us treat us like trash and we have to smile and take it so maybe you need to work in you need to work in retail and then let someone come in and do that to you and and you will actually see how difficult it is to stop theft to keep the store clean and do everything we possibly can to make it an inviting place to shop I think this video shows how immature you are grow up man
