Follow my story as I highlight details on my pregnancy and breast cancer treatment journey. I am a mother of three, a wife, and I am fighting breast cancer. I refuse to let this cancer define me. I will fight it with all that I have within me. I opted for a double mastectomy and hysterectomy after the birth of my daughter (details in the first video). I hope my story encourages you in some way. I just know there were not enough resources out there for me to go by starting treatment while pregnant. I hope to be one of yours. There is a light when you get further down the tunnel... Yes there will be scrapes, cuts, and burns but give it all you got sis! Honestly, I just put this situation in Gods hands and watched him work all my cares and worries out. You are stronger than you perceive yourself! Just to note I am not a doctor, please speak with your doctor on any medical concerns you may have.

DIEP FLAP | My Surgery Story | Breast Reconstruction
มุมมอง 1.5K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here is the story to my DIEP Flap procedure back in March 2022. I remember saying I was just going to get implants but my plastic surgeon helped me narrow it down to what I really wanted due to results from radiation. This was a rough surgery, I am not going to lie about that but I am grateful that God allowed me to gracefully get through it. Please comment with any questions you may have. I ho...

My Surgery Story | Double Mastectomy
มุมมอง 713 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I discussed how my bilateral mastectomy went and things that I used to make life a little more simple with the four drains that I had to add to my life temporarily after surgery. I honestly did not look forward to surgery but it was something that I knew had to be done and was highly recommended. I am going to say I do feel a bit better now after recovering from surgery. I'm just ...

Losing hair to Chemotherapy
มุมมอง 1033 ปีที่แล้ว
Losing hair to chemotherapy was expected but when it actually started happening, the emotions got to me. I can smile and joke about it now but I was not a happy camper in the beginning. I honestly don't let my hair define me anymore knowing that it will grow back.
My radiation treatment
มุมมอง 693 ปีที่แล้ว
My radiation treatment details... I can honestly say 3 weeks into treatment my skin started to darken where the radiation was being administered. I thought I was in the clear but nope. That area is itchy to date. I had a total of 25 treatments. I went in 5 days a week for 5 weeks. Towards the end I started to feel a lot more tired. What I used for my radiated skin: Rejuvaskin recovery cream Aqu...
PowerPort placement to treat cancer
มุมมอง 363 ปีที่แล้ว
Powerport implant delivers medicine into a large central vein. From the pamplet: During the first few days after receiving your port, avoid any heavy exertion and follow all special instructions that your doctor or nurse gives for care of the small incision. During pregnancy I was put under anesthesia baby did fine during the procedure. I was about 15 weeks at the time of surgery. I cried after...
Breast Cancer Journey and Pregnancy
มุมมอง 3613 ปีที่แล้ว
Just wanted to share my story hoping to help another mama going through what I went through. I'm grateful for my journey thus far. Cancer sucks but you are stronger than you think!
Thank you. This was very helpful. I have been researching and have almost decided with TNBC this would be my best option. I am with the understanding that radiation, which I prefer to avoid, would not be necessary . May I ask why doctors decided this course for you? Praying for continued excellent health for you.♥️
Hi, At surgery I still had residual cancer cells left. Based on that, my doctor gave me the option for radiation.
@@spirituallyuploading2797 thank you. You look great !!!♥️
Hello I’m about to make 3 months post chemo I didn’t kno these post side effects could be like this. I have an apt ina week with my new breast surgeon plastic surgeon on board and gonna be waiting a date for surgery I had a left mastectomy now gonna do right side and DIEP 14:16 flat , I may end up with b cup I don’t any more scars
It does get better overtime.
Hello pink sister thank you for sharing we have similar diagnosis I’m at the phase of reconstruction DIEP flap I am alil hesitant to do a DMX but Having TNBC Is best, thank you your inspiration
Hey sis, Yes that’s why I decided to just to have a double mastectomy at that time. I was a little worried about what the end results would look like but am happy with my decision. You are in my prayers! ♥️
If this is TMI you can ignore ❤️ did you still have nipples? Mine were removed, so im wondering if ill be as satisfied. Im planning to get the tattoos. My diep flap is in August. Thanks so much for sharing!
No they’ve been gone since the mastectomy. I was looking into 3D tattooing too.
Thank you for doing this video. Congrats on a successful surgery. Question I have is are you having any numbness or any other symptoms in your breast area?
Yes numbness in both breast I was told that I had scar tissue built up in my left breast post radiation. I had another biopsy to confirm it was only scar tissue.
@@spirituallyuploading2797 Thank you for your reply. My skin where my incision is (under my breasts ) is tight . I’m about 3 weeks from my double mastectomy . Do you currently have this feeling still?
@@wendyc.6084 I believe I complained about tightness in a lot of my videos after surgery. I do still have some but it is not as bad as it was right after surgery. As time went on it did get somewhat better.
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I will see your earlier videos. ☺️ Take care.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am having my surgery July 5th! Scared of the recovery but grateful to be nearing the end of thia chapter 🙏
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Thank you so much! For the Information Stay blessed ❤ Nervous 😊

@@spirituallyuploading2797 Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you! I’m having this surgery to prevent cancer. I’m PALB2 positive.
You are so welcome! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
You look amazing! Excited to see my results long term…I’m 4 weeks post op
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I have my mastectomy and reconstruction surgery on the left breast in next month in May. Kind of nervous
I felt the same way. Journaling helped tremendously. May God bring you peace as you go in and come out. Praying that all goes well in your surgery.
Thank you so much for sharing. Did you have the mastectomy and diep flap surgery at the same time? I'm going to see my reconstruction surgeon next week and schedule my surgery. Sending you lots of love, and please pray for me. ❤
I had the double mastectomy and the tissue expanders were placed and filled a little at that time. This was just in preparation for the surgery of my choosing. I didn’t have the reconstruction diep flap procedure until after radiation and after taking the Xeloda pill. It was a long journey. Radiation was in fall 2021 and started xeloda shortly after then was cleared for surgery May 2022.
Will most definitely send prayers your way!
Thanks for sharing! I just went through the same thing. I was told not to wear bra for 4-6 weeks. Any reason why your doctor allows it?
You’re so welcome. I remember it holding the drains in place but my memory is kind of foggy as to why. Possibly for swelling. However, I do see that most surgeons say not to wear a bra for a few weeks to make sure the flaps survive.
Thank you for sharing your story. You're the only current story. It is always helpful
You are so welcome!
Great video sister-in-law I love you!
